The Politics of Stupid

McCain either doesn’t know what “vindicated” means or he’s deliberately attempting to trick the gomers at his rallies. Here’s what happened. Yesterday, Senator Obama said this in Iowa:

“My faith in the American people was vindicated and what you started here in Iowa swept the nation,” Obama said.

TRAITOR! TERRORIST! EVILDOER! You might be asking yourself, “Yeah, so what’s wrong with that?” Well, desperate McCain is spinning this to mean that Senator Obama didn’t have faith in the American people. Here’s McCain’s disinigenuous smear:

“My country has never had to prove anything to me, my friends. I’ve always had faith in it and I’ve been humbled and honored to serve it.”

Vindicated: “to provide justification or defense for.” In other words, Senator Obama’s faith in the American people was justified by the people of Iowa.

Besides, McCain didn’t “always have faith” in America. Sam Stein recalls this McCain quote:

“I really didn’t love America until I was deprived of her company…”

McCain just proved again what a complete douchenozzle he is.

  • GItheJOE

Who was that on Rachel’s show that asked what a douchenozzle is? The RNC and John McCain try to project all the evil crap they do onto Obama and think that no one will check “the series of tubes” I mean the internet and verify their BULLSHIT

  • dontpanic23

I wondered what McCain heard in Obama’s usage of that word when he said it. It didn’t sound evil to me. I think he’s losing it completely these last few days. Needs a 4-8 year nap.And I need a vacation from the news channel in about 4 days. Ah hell, I’m a junkie at this point.

  • J M Ashby

GIthejoe that was actually “dorknozzle” which Rachel said. I dont remember who it was that asked though. I believe it was some governor.

  • ceu

Gov. of either NC or SC. I don’t think Rachel actually said “douchenozzle” though.

All I could think of was the passage from Ezekiel 25:17 that Samuel L Jackson recited in Pulp Fiction:”The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he who, in the name of charity and good will, shepherds the weak through the valley of the darkness. For he is truly his brother’s keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers. And you will know I am the Lord when I lay my vengeance upon you.”That pretty much sums up my response to McCain’s latest bullshit, with emphasis on the last sentence. And I AM NOT in a “transitional” phase, Asshole.

Bad JMAC, bad JMAC! Put case: let me ask in my best UFO-program bogus-leading-question voice, “could it be that” McCain has no high regard for Obama (young whippersnapper, not a military man, likes arugula, etc.), so he figures it’s okay to talk all the hokum he finds expedient? If so, then let me play William F. Buckley, Jr. for a moment (imagine the following question uttered in a silkily contemptuous, semi-aristocratic and highly intellectual tone): “What would Kant say?” Hmmmmm… now doesn’t there have to be just a wee bit of ABSOLUTENESS about one’s ethical principles? Categorical imperative? Heh? Heh? Heh? Heh? Can I will that the maxim by which I act should be treated as a universal moral law? Heh? Okay, not that any pol is likely to pass such a severe test, but there oughtta be some limits. I mean, you can’t just say (or let it be given out that) your youthful, unmilitary opponent is a moozlum terrorist unpatriotic hippie radical messiah from outer space, can you? Of course, it’s possible that McCain really believes the crap he’s been spewing and failing to check in others–God knows, the motivation to believe it must be powerful enough. After all, one definition of “ideology” can be stated as “the ability to believe, inculcate, and act upon ridiculous shit with the greatest possible sincerity.” (So it ain’t Foucault, but whaddya want from me?) Not sure any of this vindicates his conduct here, but . . . . Oh what the hell–as Bill Maher would say, “we kid the Senator, with love we kid him….”

J M Ashby Thanks. Your right Rachel won’t say douchenozzle on the air. But, I still love her show. Her whole purpose in life is the destroy Sarah Palin because the Right can’t claim sexist on her. They can only attack her sexual orientation and superior intellect. Which I fight refreshing. This idea that dumbasses should be elected to the highest office in the land is over this year. I am just waiting for the election to be stolen from “That One”. However, the Supreme Court has already decided in “That One’s” favor once this year with the voter supression in Ohio

  • JustaGuess

Are we there yet? What is the point to all of this? Is there anyone on the fence who hasn’t bought McCain’s first 79 attacks against Obama’s patriotism that would be swayed by this unmoving attempt?I’ve already voted, but I don’t think my patience with McCain’s campaign has been vindicated.

Dear John McCain: my support for Barack Obama is **vindicated** by your transparent jingoism.

  • dontpanic23

@Joe and JM: it was Easley, NC. Now I remember.

I’m no psychologist, but if I deconstruct what McFailin’ said, it’s “Like a good soldier I just go with the flow and don’t question anything – I follow orders and do what I’m told”.Sad, really.
