NORQUIST: Well, the economy’s in the present state because when the Democrats took the House and Senate in 2006, you knew that those tax increases were going to come in 2010. The stock market began to collapse as soon as you recognized that those old tax rates were coming back. So, we’re in the middle of responding to those tax increases.

Wrong! Again! You know why we’re in this mess? Because of free-market doofs like Grover Norquist who thought that the markets would self-regulate. Heckuva job! If there’s anything positive about this meltdown it’s that theories like this are being, you know, drowned in the bath tub. Get it?

    Whenever I read or hear something so completely and verifiably wrong I wonder: are the idiots saying these things really THAT stupid?!?!? Are they playing to their ignorant, brain-dead minions? Or do their brains really work differently than mine?

    He also claims that prior to Roosevelt the Great Depression was merely a “Great Recession”, which is astounding even by modern conservative standards. Sirota totally clowned the dude, glad to see this is making the rounds.

    I was flipping through the stations this morning and some talking head on Fox News said that the economy is bouncing back because Saks Fifth Ave. was busy and women were snapping up all the deals.

    I was listening to Obama on the radio this morning and the phrase that stood out for me was that basically he was compiling the best brains he could find.I like smart. A lot.

    And the point that seems to be lost in all this was made by the female guest. She pointed out that Obama’s plan is a net tax decrease and the increase on the super rich is just a redistribution of who pays what percentage of taxes. Therefore all of the arguments about tax increases during this recession are pointless.Still, it was nice to see Norquist laughed at by everyone and then made to look like a jackass by Sirota.

    ok,so obamas tax plan will be a job killer.no,no not like the way weve been losing jobs.y’know at a historical rate.way,way worse than that.and whatever we do,weve got to protect the most absurdly wealthy among us.raising taxes on the top 5 percent could really cause some problems here with the economy.boy,its a good thing we have the “liberal media” around to continually feed our center-right nation the bs we so desperately crave.
