He’s Bragging About This?

Chris Wallace bragged to chickenhawk Mike Gallagher about his special visit with the vice president:

WALLACE: Let me ask you this, did the Vice President say to you, “thank you so much for defending the president and yes I’m going to be giving you a special exit interview in a couple of weeks?”

GALLAGHER: Did he say all that to you?

WALLACE: Yes.

And he gave me a pony and I got to sit on his lap and pull his finger, too! Did you ever get to do that huh?

Being thanked by the most hated politician in America, and then bragging about it. The far-right is seriously desperate for friends these days.

    As a news reporter (as opposed to the reporter who covers the local garden club or the Salvation Army), let me just say that anytime a source thanks you for your coverage or uses the word “defend” regarding anything in your coverage, you have committed an epic fail.I hang my head in shame when non-media-savvy people think they should thank me simply because I didn’t report any “bad” news about them this week (because I did it the week before), and inside, I cringe, thinking “I hope no one who knows me hears this.”Chris Wallace should be ashamed on many levels — his proud defense of this administration and the Cheney jerk-off most of all.Wallace is the kind of bastard who gives the rest of us, toiling away at local newspapers and trying to apologize for the national media’s failures, a bad name.Fuck off, Wallace.
