The following shot from June didn’t make the cut, but I will always remember it, given my own (far less serious) cycling crash back in May.

    Bob, you were hit by a car? (reading old link) I hope you don’t have lingering back stuff. I know what that’s like.That’s an incredible shot, one of those once-in-a-lifetime ones for most, I’d imagine. Horrible image.

    Those photographs are magnificent. Thanks for sharing that link. (makes me want to dig out the old 35 mm….no wait..it makes me want to buy a brand new Nikon D90 – but instead I will have to use that money for mundane things like food and the mortgage.

Still not the same, but it could’ve been a lot worse. I was a victim of “the right hook” — a car passed me on the left then suddenly turned right, cutting me off and so I slammed into the side of the car.

    My butt puckers up every time I see that photo. I did a 50 mile ride with a group of about 30 back in August and some drunk asshole passed us. I kept getting visions on that accident running through my head.Cmiri – forget food and mortgage. The D90 is much better LOL. I bought one to replace my D70 as my field camera and love it. Now I might have to sell my D300 and get a D700 to replace my good camera I use for bigger photo jobs.

    I can’t believe only one guy was killed in that nightmare. The worst guy in the world is the police escort who clearly swerved to avoid the drunk, exposing the airbag- and steel safety cage-less cyclists to two tons of mid 80s Buick.Intox, I’ll take that D300 off your hands…
