Rush the Magic A-hole

There’s a mini storm brewing around former Huckabee adviser Chris Saltsman and the “Barack the Magic Negro” song parody he distributed as Christmas gifts.

No-one from the RNC said a damn thing for 18 hours until Mike Duncan, RNC chair, sort of distanced himself from Saltsman. Saltsman himself, meanwhile, wheeled out the satire excuse. More from Think Progress.

But I hasten to note that this isn’t satire — unless it’s satirizing guys like Saltsman and Limbaugh who actually think crap like this is awesome. What’s truly bizarre is that Rush Limbaugh pulls off this kind of material almost every day and he’s somehow embraced as the voice of the conservative movement.

    What really chaps my hide is, can you imagine if a progressive talk show host said things even half as provocative? The uproar from the neocon right would be deafening.Oh wait, I forgot, we’re supposed to be “inclusive”.I wish the democrats in general had some balls to speak up more often.

    I’ve read the lyrics and I give the song a D, and not solely for content, either. The meter is off, the wording is clunky, and POV is unclear. Altogether a disappointing composition even if I did agree with its satirical purpose. Ninth graders can write better satire.Once again, GOP operatives don’t understand humor, relying too much on the mean insult. And they don’t obey the rules.

    “Chris Saltsman”It’s “Chip”, as in a really white diminutive for ‘Charles’ or more likely ‘cow chip’, another form of self-propelled ca-ca.
