Screwed

The Republicans may have just screwed us all. Senate Republicans last night blocked a deal to bail out GM.

The failure of the auto bailout in the Senate could mean the collapse of GM and Chrysler by the end of this month, according to several reports.

The Republican gripe? They wanted massive cuts in UAW worker pay and benefits.

Isn’t it amazing how erogant these Republican are. It is always the workers fault…they make to much..it is never the greedy ceo’s or the narrow minded stockholders. Hang on America…If these two companies collapse we will be plunged into one of the worst depressions the world has ever seen.

The Republicans really want to go down in flames, don’t they? Losing the election isn’t a loud enough signal?

These bail-out issues have been tough for me to pick a side and stick with it. The leaders of these car companies fucked us all when they and the Bush admin decided to disregard new technologies–see who killed the elec car for clarification. They should be punished. They and their companies are dinosaurs and we’re all better off without them. Obviously, I realize it’s not that easy and that millions of jobs and tens of millions of livelihoods are at stake here. Still, I found out this week we are losing benefits as of 2009. We are not getting our Xmas bonus this year–just found that out this week. So what makes the UAW so fucking special they can’t cut back like the rest of us? I’m happy to still have my job. I say replace all auto company management–no severance, no umbrellas. Reduce wages where you need to in order to save the company, and I mean from the bottom to the top. If they would rather go out of biz than concede anything, it’s another example of the kind of selfish stupidity that has gotten them and us where we all are today.

every day we’re beat about the head with this narrative about how an auto-bailout is just a way for dems to pay back unions.yet noone seems to give a shit about the fact that the lawmakers who are putting up the biggest fight are almost exclusively from southern states.southern states that happen to be home to volkswagen, mercedes, bmw, hyundai, toyota, nissan, etc…whers the “liberal media” when y’need em?
