    I just put that plastic wrap stuff on the windows of my house to save energy and I think it might work.My living room is warmer already.This also made me think of my favorite DHS Tom Ridge when he told Americans to buy tape and plastic wrap after 9/11.So not only is my home warmer and more energy efficient, it is also Nuclear, Chemical and Biological weapon proof.P.S I know I am a lurker on the GDAB but I need the help of the GDAB community.My girlfriend has two little chihuahuas and they will not stop pissing and shitting on my floor.I know there are many animal lovers in the GDAB so please help me before I hurt one of them.

    Okay…a little network news hackery.I saw Condolezza Rice on both Fox and ABC with GS this morning. Both CW and GS asked Rice questions about her recent piano performance for Queen Elizabeth and what she plans to do when she leaves office–two question that are better suited for shows like Entertainment Tonight.Of course, every minute of the precious Sunday morning time on OUR airwaves that these “journalists” spend chatting it up with Rice about her personal experiences are minutes that they don’t spend questioning somebody about the health care crisis, infant mortality rates, unemployment, poverty, foreclores, the climate crisis, Congo, Zimbabwe or the scores of other life and death issues that we and the rest of the world have before us.

Trying to train two at once is going to make it harder. Take them out regularly (every hour, minimum), praise the profusely and give them treats if they do thier biz outside.When they make a mistake inside, show it to them immedieatly and then take them outside – even though it’s too late.Most important though will be for both you and your girlfriend to do it the same – if she “accepts” thier indoor accidents, then there is really no hope.Chihuahuas are really great and smart dogs, but they will really take advantage of you if you let them.

    train the dogs 24/7, take them to work w/ you in a shoulderbag, get attuned to them and let them say when…- you say where. The key is; they want to please you but you have to show them what you want. Don’t get mad. Big, big praise for when they do it right! That works for everyone, doesn’t it?

    Okay, I made the mistake of reading some of the “Obama is not a citizen” blog posts. Goddamn these people are nuts. Has anyone else looked at the mindset of these people? They wouldn’t believe that Obama was born in Hawaii even if Doc Brown gave them a ride in his DeLorean to 1961 so that they could witness his birth first hand.

    ahhh to the GI Joe …about the pups….gotta put them on a schedule…and stick to it…..and lots of treats and rewards for doing their business…No punishment for pee and poo, that does nothing for training them…it’s about rewarding them for what is good…within days you should notice a difference….start every 3 hours and work up….do keep them in the Kitchen area or a non carpet area while training to make clean up and accidents go smoother….if you need more dog info come over to watergate summer….we have many dog folks there….plenty of advice…

    Alan4, Smackdab, engima4ever, you people are my fucking hero. I got really upset today at her teacup which is only 1.5 lbs and placed him into the kitchen from my couch approximately 3 meters.I love these dogs and have severe problems from two tours to Iraq, a divorce and a set of parents who treat me like I am five so I don’t want to be mean.One of them is pregnant and she is so sleepy. Thank you guys.You are right they really respond well to treats and praise not punishment.I tried the nose in the piss thing and they look at me like I am retarded

    Joe,Hope you see this. I’m late to the party as usual these days.I could go into a lot of detail but am in a hurry so I’ll suggest googling “crate training”. That’s the best way in my experience to train the little ones. I have a pitbull I found on the street. She was emaciated, had just had puppies, and was suffering from heartworm. All my pets are inside so she of course is and hasn’t had one accident in the 2 years I’ve had her. All the dogs I’ve had over the years whether adopted or rescued have been crate trained. I’m in rescue and ran a petsitting business for years and have dealt with dogs with issues of all kinds and the crate has been the best thing for them all. They love their “den”.With such tiny dogs, I’d also look into paper training, then you don’t have to take them out in bad weather and works for folks who don’t have a yard to take them out in but only for the little ones of course.Good luck and thank you for your service to our country.
