It’s really sad that we haven’t taken advantage of the technologies that offer promise for tomorrow. Is Solar ready for mainstream deployment???? Cost would be the big challenge, but somebody has to be first.There is really no reason why the majority of the houses in america aren’t at least solar assisted, if not totally self reliant.Think of it this way. Pay $300/month for electricity…. FOREVER. Or finance a solar grid-tied system and make the payments for 10 years, then do minor maintenance on the system.Did I mention you get to sell your excess back to the grid?Congress needs to pass larger tax credits and mandate net metering for all electric providers.But, we’d rather use oil.
