And People Take Them Seriously?

Put aside the record deficits and debt of the Bush Republican decade. Put aside stories about billions of American dollars just vanishing in Iraq — an occupation with a $10 billion a month price tag. In the face of incontrovertible expert advice that a massive government stimulus is required to prevent a depression, we get this from the GOP:

“Congress cannot keep writing checks and simply pass IOUs to our children and grandchildren,” says Sen. John Cornyn, R-Texas. Asks House Minority Leader John Boehner, R-Ohio: “How much debt are we going to pile on future generations?”

And no, Senator Big John didn’t follow up his remark with, “Psych! I’m just effing with ya. We pissed away money for eight years and we know it! YEEHAW!”

    Every time I see one of these dickwads spouting this shit on the “news” I yell, “Ask the fucker where was his restraint the last eight years?” It truly is ridiculous that no one has the guts to call them on this instead of just broadcasting what they say as if THAT’s the news.

    Pelosi bitch slapped them this morning on Late Edition. I have mixed emotions about her but I believe she has bigger balls than Harry Reid. Pelosi actually called these assholes out for them rubber stamping Bush for eight years. I was shocked.

    I admire the new word indredible, Carl. It somehow applies to the indredible Mr.Chaney.This is the trait that I find most fascinating and annoying about the neo-conservatives. They are fiscal conservatives only when a Democrat is in the White House. At all other times they are reckless borrow and spend drunks. Of course, they are social fascists, err, conservatives at all times.It is not possible to build an irony or hypocracy meter with enough dynamic range to cover these mode swings.
