…and this is the man for whom you made a poll that asked, (with obvious paraphrasing) “was having the monkey for four more years of irreversible, profound damage worth it because now we have this new-lookin’ dude in a suit?”Does he know how many insults Dean endured when he (rightfully) discarded Michigan and Florida’s votes? Dick.Look, I’m as happy for black people as the next lilly-white guy, but it’s time that we realized something: the Obama campaign was based on a sales slogan of “CHANGE– NOW IN BLACK!”Product.

I want to add one more thing.I listened to ten minutes of Michael Weiner/Savage yesterday. He said, “You’ve never heard me insult Obama. It’s only the crazy left who have problems with him.”The words “you’re never heard me insult Obama” should worry a normal person, let alone a liberal.

I’m more than happy to delete or edit it for you if it suddenly dawns on you how truly dickish and racist it was.
http://www.sigzone.blogspot.com MG
It’s not racist, dude. I supported Obama during the Iowa caucus despite a horde of Edwards’ supporters cries that only a white guy could possibly win a general election. I believed that he wasn’t going to turn his back on the liberal community because he was half-black– and you’re allowed to believe that such a thought was racist, as well (you would be wrong, though). Now with the Dean snub, the Rick Warren ascension, the allowance of the re-re-rebirth of the Clintons and his proposed conservative fiscal policies I feel like I’ve been had. I feel like some of Jesse Jackson’s remarks from a while ago have been validated….and I think you’re projecting your anger about the correctness of my first paragraph and warping it into something that is completely fallacious in the third paragraph.Dick.

Hey neat I’m not the worst commenter anymore.

Sorry to interject into this, but, Travis, that was hilarious.

Thanks for being “happy” for all of us black people… Dick!I absolutely agree that he shouldn’t have snubbed Dean, but your racially insensitive comments were absolutely unnecessary.

Whatever. When Mike Malloy says it (in much more abrasive terms), it’s “brilliant.” When I say it I am a bastard.

MG,You are being called a dick because it was frankly a dickish thing to say. People like you are the reason why I get sick of reading comments from time to time. Obama is not perfect, and never claimed to be. Injecting his race or the race of some of his supporters is bullshit. Frankly, as a black man who supported Obama during the campaign I find it offensive that white people are never viewed as ever being duped by promises of change by a politician through the lens of the similarity with said politician’s skin color.P.S. – In case I wasn’t clear, you are being a dick!

I do take some pride in the fact that the President-Elect is half-black, but I am more excited that he’s a Democrat, and I am hopeful that Democratic leadership in the Whitehouse can help us begin to turn around this country. If PE Obama was a Republican he wouldn’t have enjoyed the overwhelming support of Black voters. Ask Alan Keyes.I don’t know you, but, I’ve checked out your blog and have seen nothing to make me believe that you are a racist. I do, however, believe that your comment above was insensitive.

I thought MG hated Hartmann not Malloy.

Nice. And people wonder why black folks invariably vote our own interests without regard for liberal/progressive/whatever. Because some white liberals feel so vastly superior because they were magnanimous enough to vote for a black guy.MG, you want your pat on the back? You got it. You’re a wonderful example of white liberal heroism, with your happiness for black people and whatnot. Thank you profoundly for deigning to vote for a black guy. And thank you too for assuming that a black person must necessarily bow to your beliefs of what it means to be liberal or progressive, on account of being black (or half-black, as you decide to call Obama).QT

“Why did you inject race into this?”Good question. I was referring to a poll that Cesca made a while ago. It wasn’t some random thing. The poll bothered me very much at the time. It asked something along the lines of, “Are you glad Kerry lost because now we have Obama?”I assume that a huge part of that question is based Obama’s race– for which I was and am extremely happy. There is a separation between the man and his politics, which I will cover momentarily. I am almost certain that the question didn’t center around his politics based on Cesca’s posts here. No, I definitely do not believe that the historical nature of Obama’s election outweighs the last four years of ruination.Obama’s stated political positions were fairly vague. I imputed his politics onto him based on his background, which was naive, not racist. In this case, Limbaugh was partly correct when he stated that we assumed things about him. However, he is a complete racist bastard to play “The Magic Negro” song, which a moronic homeless black man sang when I was standing in a line to watch Obama speak in Seattle years ago. The nature of the man himself was historical — now his politics, which are finally coming to light, are outweighing the man.I’m not “hiding behind Malloy.” I’m indicating the hypocrisy of a few people here who love him. Guess what, Cesca? Unlike him, I would NEVER call Obama “a house negro” or “a boy.” …Yet you listen to him, Cesca. You quote him. Is he “insufferable?” That question applies to anyone who loves him and damns me.It’s a candid discussion about Obama, so it offends people. I know. People don’t like honesty– they like bullshit. Politicians thrive on it; it’s partly how he was elected. “Change” my ass- the only change is the 50 point I.Q. increase from the last guy.I’m done with this topic for now. I won’t post about it for a while.

>> “Change” my ass- the only change is the 50 point I.Q. increase from the last guy.For that alone, I am profoundly happy. Really. Race has nothing to do with it, either!

Funny, I remember the poll and thought the question had nothing to do with race, but with the obviously different – and better – ability of Obama to motivate and rally a wide range of people. Did anyone ever listen to Kerry speak and feel the urge to stand up and shout agreement? Hell, I actively participated in my first presidential election ever.
Back on topic of the original post, the republicans don’t have to tear down the democrats because dems always do it for themselves. It’s an inherent problem with a group of thinkers – people don’t fall in line and repeat what they’re told to say like with the republicans. While it’s generally a good thing, it becomes a problem when nothing gets accomplished because everyone refuses to work towards a common, better goal if it doesn’t meet their specific little agenda.
I didn’t and still don’t agree with everything Obama says and does (warren again? really?), but I still trust him to think about what he’s doing and actually decide instead of following his gut and what jeezuz told him – how ironic that the pure evil of cheney put a lot of those decisions in his empty head.

Looks to me more like a “reporter” with a history of GOP ass-kissing successfully driving a wedge into the Dems by sourcing unnamed people with vague speculations.Chill the f out.I don’t take a backseat to anyone when it comes to supporting Dean, so if there turns out to be something more to this, I’ll be first in line to smack Obama. But until then, this story is garbage.
Gawd! I’m so sick of all the whining, hand wringing and infighting that is the trademark of liberals. Why the fuck can’t we give the man a chance to get into office? Then if he does half as bad as Dubya, a herculean task BTW, we’ll have something to bitch about.Back to topic, can we please wait and see how the so called “Dean snub” shakes out? If this is true, and I doubt it, there has to be some reason for it. Obama is not this damned ignorant.Totally agree with previous posters who said “Chill the Fuck out”.

What the hell is your problem with that poll? It was completely innocuous and based upon a genuine fascination with alternate historical timelines and hypothetical reasoning. To this day, I don’t understand why you were so offended by that poll.>>>No, I definitely do not believe that the historical nature of Obama’s election outweighs the last four years of ruination.Yeah, and if you had read my answer to the poll in the comments instead of losing your shpadoinkle and spamming the blog with your links, you would’ve noticed that I agreed. Given the choice, I would’ve taken a Kerry victory.>>>I’m not “hiding behind Malloy.”Sure you are. You were excusing your dickish remark by suggesting that Malloy does it, too.>>>”Change” my ass- the only change is the 50 point I.Q. increase from the last guy. You’re very, very wrong. The funny part to me is how many people are still afraid Obama is some closet ultra-liberal, when his actions clearly show he’s not. But I agree, Dean would have been a great asset to utilize instead of push to the side.

>>>>Back to topic, can we please wait and see how the so called “Dean snub” shakes out? If this is true, and I doubt it, there has to be some reason for it. Obama is not this damned ignorant.I think some of you are misinterpretting my view on this — and that’s probably because I wasn’t clear enough in the first place. I don’t really care so much about the Dean snubbing. It’s bizarre, but whatever. What worries me is precisely what worries some of you: the infighting and griping on the Democratic side, including a few voices on the president-elect’s left. And the Dean snubbing is sure to rattle some cages on the left. This worries me.

And me? I’m a white guy who voted for him and contributed to his campaign just so I could get this really neat-o official invitation to the Jan 20th inaguaration. And you know what? It was worth every penny and all 125 votes!
