Great News for the Republicans!

The Republicans lost the House vote and looked like bitter, childish scam artists in the process while President Obama looked magnanimous and proactive and, dare I say, presidential. So naturally that means: Republicans win! Flawless victory!

Not really.

This guy gets it absolutely wrong:

Obama vowed to change Washington and usher in a new post-partisan era. The the mood music and optics were pitch perfect as he trekked up to the Hill. Republicans praised his gesture, welcomed his sincere demeanour and appreciated his willingness to listen.

Problem was, he wanted only to listen and did not want to act on what Republicans said.

Okay, so the president was supposed to add everything the Republicans wanted? If so, why? They’re not the majority party. The Democrats don’t need the Republicans to pass this. Nevertheless, this false notion in the establishment press that President Obama is all about capitulating and giving the Republicans everything they want is going to get more ridiculous and more annoying and more idiotic before it gets better.

This is exactly what I meant yesterday when you asked for predictions to the vote and I said that it would prove President Obama’s political saavy. He’s playing a game of chess where he’s 12 moves ahead of everyone else. So everyone just chill the fuck out. He’s got this.

im getting so sick of hearing about how president obama needs to be MORE bipartisan.the idea that this stimulus bill oughtta be made up of half dem ideas and half repub ideas is mindnumbingly idiotic.seriously.barack obama campaigned for two years.he made it very very clear who he was and what he planned to do.he never hid the “D” next to his name.the american people decided that “y’know what, eight yrs of far right ideology has totally fucked us up.the msm seems to forget that not only did we elect a liberal democrat as pres.,but we gave dems huge numbers in the house and senate.for the president to implement all sorts of conservative ideas would be politicl malpractice.

They seemed to have raised the bar as soon as W choppered into the sunset. The most that moron would have done these past two weeks is hold a press conference or two where he’d order the “Democrat Party to stop foolin’ around and get help to the American people. ‘Cause Americans are hurting.” And he would have said it from vacation.I’m going to remain confident that he’ll manage this well, but I’m worried about what’s going to happen in the Senate. We already had 11 Democrat House members stay true to their ‘bipartisan’ ways and vote no yesterday. I can only imagine what shenanigans will go down in the Senate.

I’d like to see the President hold a press conference to make a statement explaining how he views bipartisanship from his perspective. I sense the explination would describe how it makes a lot of sense to listen to what the opposition has to say, and if there are good ideas that are compatible with the direction he wants the country to go, he will embrace those ideas and give credit where due. He’s done the listening part, and there’s been no good ideas presented. Sorry. The only ideas presented have been the same song and dance that the majority of voters have rejected, and that the previous administration had their chance to implement and failed.Bipartisanship does NOT mean doing what the other side wants just to get by.President Obama needs to send this message loud and clear, in short succinct statements that will not filtered by the media.

The Republicans don’t even deserve a seat the table on this issue. It was their failed policies that got us in this mess in first place. How they even have the audacity (arrogance) to think they should have a say is stupifying!

The GOP has lost all credibility on this matter. Obama all ready cut enough out of this plan to appease them. If they want 500 billion in tax cuts while we have 2 wars and an uber-recession, they are insane.I am one of those small business owners the GOP claims to be standing up for, and let me say that i DO NOT want their tax cuts. I want a strong economy so I can make my own damn money!Great blog Bob. My blog wants to be yours when it grows up.
