Let This One Really Sink In

President Obama today:

On the 36th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, we are reminded that this decision not only protects women’s health and reproductive freedom, but stands for a broader principle: that government should not intrude on our most private family matters. I remain committed to protecting a woman’s right to choose.

The president will almost certainly be nominating at least one Supreme Court justice in the next four years — John Paul Stevens and possibly Ruth Bader Ginsberg will be retiring during the first Obama administration.

He needs to take this all the way and appoint Justice Aborty Q. Prochoiceington (9th Circuit Court of Appeals) to Stevens’s seat the second it opens. And then have Rahm Emmanuel drop a piano on Scalia’s fucking head.

OOOP! Sorry, there I go “hating” again. Stupid Liberal hatey haters with their hating hatred!

  • Myhero

you know what I hate? I hate when those stupid paper coffee filters won’t come out 1 at a time ;)

I don’t use coffee filters, as I have a magnificent Keurig One-Cup Coffee System, a machine so perfect that I would make love to it if it didn’t have a heating apparatus that gets up to 192 degrees Fahrenheit.

  • Myhero

So you don’t use coffee filters. I want to know how you disposed of your old ones by putting them in a link under your name. That’s such a green way of recycling.

  • Myhero

Yeah Keurig, my brother has one of those but they are kinda pricey aren’t they? Plus buying the coffeethat way.Bobs gotta love it, He posts about pro-choice and we’re talking cofee. LOL

Another reason why Obama had to be elected. Both Stevens and Ginsberg lean left so the appointments by Obama will ensure we don’t decrease the minority of non-douchebags on the court.Maybe Scalia can go hunting with Cheney again soon and bring Thomas with them.

GDA! I had to pull out the Happy, Happy! Joy, Joy! dance on this one.(I am referring to the quote from El Presidente and the idea of replacing Stevens with the most liberal judge ever. I could care less if Elvis burns his nutsack on his beloved coffeemaker.)

Elvis: Do you grind your own?

They had this problem with coffee filters at the Supreme Court until one of the justices suggested blowing at the edge and then judiciously placing a pubic hair between them when they separated.

I make coffee in an espresso machine (no filters, a stainless steel cup with tiny holes instead), grind my own beans, and go to a coffee roaster twice a month so I can buy beans that were roasted the day before I buy them. Better than Starbucks. If you live near New Haven CT, you should buy your beans at Willoughby’s at Church and Grove or see Willoughbyscoffee.com because they do web sales as well. Not SPAMMING, but Willoughby’s coffee is the best coffee I’ve ever tasted in my entire life. I usually buy Guatemala Antigua French Roast and blend it 1:1 with Colombia Supremo French Roast. The Kenya AA and Sumatran are also outstanding. Coffee goes stale more slowly when it is whole bean.Grocery store coffee is stale before it gets to the grocery store.<obligatory_on_topic_comment>The people that want to undo Roe v Wade apparently don’t remember how many women died each year from botched abortions. I can’t believe that they think that that was better than what we currently have.I don’t believe that life begins the moment dad came. YMMV.</obligatory_on_topic_comment>

If you listen closely, you can hear a whole shit load of conservative heads exploding. It’s so nice to be on the winning side again.

Re: Letting it sink in–hearing the President Speak Indonesian to a State Dept. staffer. Reminds me of “J’accuse ma fromage!” “Jed, you speak four languages, why is none of them French?”Re: Coffee–wish I could afford a fancy lad coffee maker. I can’t, oh well. I grind up some Ethiopian beans and steep them in a Turkish pot and oh damn!
