More Executive Orders This Morning

President Obama will be signing more executive orders at around 11:30 eastern today. For future reference, you can read all of the non-classified executive orders here.

I’m particularly enjoying the following section of the Presidential Records order from yesterday:

Upon receipt of a claim of executive privilege by a living former President, the Archivist shall consult with the Attorney General (through the Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Counsel), the Counsel to the President, and such other executive agencies as the Archivist deems appropriate concerning the Archivist’s determination as to whether to honor the former President’s claim of privilege or instead to disclose the Presidential records notwithstanding the claim of privilege.

In English: former Bush administration people are totally screwed.

In the definitions sections it says “”Presidential records” refers to those documentary materials maintained by NARA pursuant to the Presidential Records Act, including Vice Presidential records.”Its going to be a pleasure watching Cheney squirm in his wheelchair while trying to assert executive privilege now…This is GDA!

    Here’s my favorite part:

Sec. 6. Revocation. Executive Order 13233 of November 1, 2001, is revoked.

I’m watching this right now and I just wish VP Biden would move his hands off of the resolute desk. He’s got that bendy-finger thing where his fingers bend backward just a little too far… I know, it’s superficial but creepy…

You just linked to .gov websites like they could be useful, trustworthy, and accessible. I’m confused.
