“Naturally, however, there aren’t any guarantees of absolute safety. And there shouldn’t be in a free society. If you insist on 100 percent foolproof protection from acts of terrorism, you should probably go ahead and lock yourself in an underground bunker and leave the rest of us alone.”It strikes me this is the same thing they teach in abstinence-only “education:” the only way to avoid disease and pregnancy is not to have sex. Well, the only way to be 100% sure to avoid terrorism is never to leave your bunker.

Excellent Bob. It is going to take me 10 years to convince soldiers that our President is good for the military/nation defense. But this is a great start.

Most excellent post Bob.My only comment is that the three zombies were in absolutely no danger of finding any brains at Rush’s studio. Maybe that’s why they have to suck dirt, Rush is brainless.

Bob,A few comments regarding civil liberties, the Constitution and our Founding Fathers. I agree with you that the previous administration has run amuck on Civil Liberties, the Patriot Act, Gitmo, US Troops on American soil to control crowds…the list goes on, however to assume that Obama is going to curtail these is a bit over-optimistic, even the link you refered to in your article sighting ” the U.S.A. PATRIOT Act passed with only one nay vote in the Senate” shows that Obama himself voted for the bill in 2006 and he supports SECDEF Gate’s strategy of using US Military for crowd control and other “anti-terrorist” activities on US soil (a clear violation of the Posse Comitatus Act).I find it most interesting that you would use the Huffington Post as a stage to promote the Constitution and the Founding Fathers, specifically John Adams who was admittedly against Big Government and Central Banking (Keynesian Economics), two things that Liberals define themselves on. In John Adams’ “Thoughts on Government” he himself said, “Upon this point all speculative politicians will agree, that the happiness of society is the end of government”.Honestly I think you, as well as most Democrats, are more aligned with the Libertarian philosophy than with the far left. Libertarians believe that a country can not be free if there is Any infringement on civil liberties, Constitutional principals and are typically anti-imperialistic.
