The Bush Administration was wire-tapping the shit out of the BBQ Media. How come that’s only getting noticed on Countdown and The Rachel Maddow Show?

  • The Minx

You got me, Nano. Who is the BBQ Media?

My wife and I went to Washington, D.C. for the inauguration and attended both the MoveOn.org inauguration party and the Michigan Ball. My wife’s photomosaic of Barack Obama (the one that appeared in Time magazine) was handed out at the Michigan Ball. I wrote up a little piece on our Inauguration Adventure if that sounds like something you’d like to hear about. We actually had Purple Tickets but managed to avoid the Purple Tunnel of Doom.http://eclectablog.blogspot.com/2009/01/mr-mrs-es-inaugural-odyssey.html

I just screamed at my TV Machine.I switched over to CNN today and they were showing an Al Quida video with former detainees from GITMO in it. DO YOU THINK ONE FUCKING WORD WAS MENTIONED ABOUT WHO THE FUCK RELEASED THEM? FUCK NO!!!!!Mother of pearl!!!! I don’t know how long I can take this shit. Our President just signed a mother fucking executive order to close the Gulag and not ten minutes later the MSM gets off their GOP dick sucking asses and starts the story of released detainees are going to kill us.How much money will the Democratic party need to change the MSM to just be fucking objective. Shit I would settle for objective. Left leaning would be great but shit just report the fucking news not GOP Talking Points.FUCK!!! FUCK!!! FUCK!!!

Oh, listen, my wingnuts, a story you’ll hear.A song I will sing you; ’twill fill you with cheer.A charming young Bush-son was chosen one Fall,To bankrupt the country with no flaws at all.No flaws at all. No flaws at all.He managed the country with no flaws at all.It wasn’t just that they were quite small,Our president really had no flaws at all.Eleventh September, reports he’d not read”Bin Laden’s attacking,” intelligence said. His polls hit a zenith; “Let’s roll,” he did call.He landed like Top Gun, with no flaws at all.No flaws at all. No flaws at all.Decider commanded with no flaws at all.To sell us the surge he stood up so tall,The Mission Accomplished with no flaws at all.He said, “Oh Wall Street, oh Wall Street, oh what shall I do?Your balance sheets are all wound up like a screw.”To Paulson and bankers he made a quick call,To give away billions with no flaws at all.No flaws at all. No flaws at all.He deregulated with no flaws at all.Government should be poor and small,Three times as expensive, with programs that stall. He said, “Now, New Orleans, oh don’t feel so sad;Nobody expected the levees were bad. We’ll rebuild your city and then your sea wall.”When disaster happened, he’d no flaws at all.No flaws at all. No flaws at all.The nation’s responder had no flaws at all.A heckuva job with a brain that’s so small,He’s repaired our levees with no flaws at all.Now Dick Cheney gave George some private advice,On secret proceedures exceedingly nice.Guantanamo, ‘black sites,’ renditioning all,We found out that torture’s not torture at all.No flaws at all. No flaws at all.Bush guaranteed freedom with no flaws at all.It wasn’t just that he had the gall,George Bush really hadn’t a conscience at all.No imperfections whatsoever!

per Gravel’s post: how does this retard get elected to anything, much less the Governor’s office?

  • http://www.ieatgravel.com/ Alaska (I Eat Gravel)

She got elected because we had a motherfucker governor before her.

  • Lyle

Campbell Brown was talking about ethics school for Obama staffers. I wonder if Obama needs a refresher, unless it is actually ethical to drop bombs on Pakistan, currently a soverign nation, without a declaration of war and in violation of international law. Children died in the bombings yet the media is more interested, as apparently is the first family, in Beanie Babies making dolls in the likeness of Obama’s kids?

  • theo

Bob! I got your book! It’s so pretty! If anyone wonders where I am tonight, I’m obsessively reading Bob’s goddamn awesome book!

  • Packy

I hate to get technical, Elwood. But Frank Murkowski is also a grandmotherfucker.

  • http://www.ieatgravel.com/ Alaska (I Eat Gravel)

theo,Yes. It is a good book. I read it in one sitting.

  • Myhero

Yeah, but she shouldn’t even have been elected to mayor of Wasilla in the first place. Talk about failing upward. Or to put it another way, if she can get elected governor I should be a U.S. Senator.

  • GItheScholar

Oh a brighter note, Ted Haggard is gay again. I say this with joy in my heart because I thought Rick Warren healed him of the gay.

  • emsique

Wow, Matt thou dost wax poetic fucking nicely!Just saw this dipshit headline on Google News page from worms at CNN: “Will Obama have to be better because he is black?”My question is: “Did Bush have to be shitty because he is white?”

  • theo

GI: gay and immoral. While it’s entirely legal for a preacher to sleep with one of his flock, it’s morally sketchy in the same way a teacher sleeping with a student is. There’s a huge power imbalance there, and that’s what skeeves me out about the whole thing. How’s school goin, GI?

  • AdyLeigh

GItheJoeScholar, I had the SAME f-ing reaction to CNN. Was it that Campbell “No Bias No Bull But Lots of Horseshit” Brown? Look out! The ’90′s style media is in full fucking swing already.I seriously wish someone would waterboard CNN’s Ed Henry.Matt, awesome. Really like it.

  • AdyLeigh

Oh, and Ted Haggardy’s gay lives on! Cool…

  • http://chenzhen.files.wordpress.com/2007/03/flagburning.jpg Elvis the Dingeldein

Hey Theo – Check out the acknowledgements in the back of Bob’s Goddamn Awesome Book. He gives me a shout out for being his Great Big Goddamn Awesome Buddy. And spells the name of my blog wrong. And also my last name. And such as.

  • theo

elvis: how long have you and bob known each other? did you meet in person and carry your friendship onto the internet, or was it the other way around? boxers or briefs?

  • GItheScholar

Theo,School is going really well. I am actually doing my work. I dropped my advertising class for a personal investment class which is just a game of playing the stock market. It is kind of a dorky hobby of mine to establish so wealth so I can retire at 50.

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

Elvis, that’s so sad and so funny at the same time.

  • theo

shit, GI, who doesn’t want to retire at 50?

  • SillyGit

SillyGit “Conservative’s Uncomfortableness Meter”™ is running at 2 with occasional deflections to 3.Analysis:The static level is at 2 caused by the general unease of conservatives confronted by the new and frightening situation of having a black man in theWhite House. The loss of more seats in both houses of congress giving the democrats a larger majority also contributes to the unease. The deflections to 3 are caused by The Lush Rimbaugh and BillO the Clown who are engaged in a desperate penis waving, look at ME! LOOK AT ME! song and dance routine trying to prove that they are still relevant. While they are not very sucessfull, they are still able to increase the uncomfortableness of conservatives and their outrage at the evil liberals.Trends:The uncomfortableness (new word) is expected to increase based on the passage of H.R. 1 (Economic Stimuli). The conservatives are annoyed by the size of the package (apparently it is larger the BillO’s ego). They are also concerned about deficit spending (now that there is a democrat in the White House). These and other factors to soon appear are likely to give us at least a solid 3 if not a 4.Description of the SillyGit “Conservative’s Uncomfortableness Meter”™:The meter measures the inverse of the comfort level of conservatives. The Uncomfortableness scale of the meter is a 0 to 10 logarithmic scale with 10 being the highest level of conservative uncomfortableness that does not result in the death of the conservatives being measured. (The meter actually measures to 11.) Since conservative uncomfortableness is a somewhat chaotic process, the meter uses an analog movement as a mechanical low-pass filter. The meter is currently configured to measure the uncomfortableness of conservatives in the United States only. The meter is intended to be used to show when Democrats and the President are doing the right things since doing the right things will increase the uncomfortableness of conservatives.

by retire I mean run for US senator.Does anyone know what state has the highest atheist population?

  • GItheScholar

AdyLeigh,Fuck yes it was that cock hound. Jesus the Christ I am still pissed at that.

  • Nanotyrannus

Haggard doesn’t have the gay again. The little nugget he was diddling was from before he got himself outed. Indeed, he’s set to describe his sexuality as “complicated”, or some such horseshit, on Oprah this week. We, The Gay, wouldn’t describe such sexual practice as “complicated,” but instead as “Lyingsackofshitosexual”.It seems the New Life Church has caught up with the Catholic Church. It turns out they paid the youngn’ to keep quiet. I say youngn’, but word is he was in his early 20′s at the time.

  • GItheScholar

Nano,I am going to be as sensitive as I can while I express my everlasting joy of this situation. The only denomination of church that is still growing is the evangelical church. If they suffer the same fate as the Catholic church did from paying young men to be quiet about getting molested by preachers then there really is a God. I am praying to that God tonight before I go to bed that he destroys the evangelical church just like he did to that modern day Saddam and Gomorrah New Orleans. (This is a joke. It ruins the joke to say it is a joke but I want everyone to be perfectly clear that I don’t believe the bullshit I just wrote)

  • Alan4s

I want to retire when I’m 50.Unfortunately I hit 50 more than a year ago, and haven’t hit the lottery yet. No retirement for me for a while.

  • SillyGit

    Mr. The Joe

Does anyone know what state has the highest atheist population?

I think we are spread pretty uniformly around, so I can only suggest places that I know being an atheist is not considered to be a big deal.Pretty much all of New England is no big deal being an atheist. I lived in CT for 29 years and never meet anyone that gave a shit about me being an atheist. Not even the Roman Catholics. MA and VT are the same. Might be some places in NH and ME but I’ve never noticed any. People in ME mind their own business rather well.California, except for Orange County. I’d avoid Southern Cal anyway.Anywhere near major cities in PA should be OK. My PA data is from late 70s so it’s probably more like New England now. I used to hide my atheism from Roman Catholics in PA since they were the only ones that gave me shit about it.New York City, Long Island, Downstate NY in general are good places to be an atheist. Upstate NY has hard core religious nutbags scattered hither and yon so it varies from place to place. I think Rochester and Buffalo are good. I have many openly gay friends in Rochester, if the community accepts gays, they have no problem with atheism.I would guess that Oregon and Washington are good to, but I have inadequate data to be certain. The Bible Belt is out. They burn gays and atheists at the stake.Virginia has pockets of liberalism surrounded by a vast sea of conservative religious nutbaggery. North Carolina is similar. The Research Triangle area is the deepest blue. Regions in suburban Charlotte are also pretty liberal. That’s the best I can do on this topic. I have zero data on the midwest. I would guess that IL, MN, WI, and MI would be good, but that would be a guess based on brief visits.

  • Nanotyrannus

Oh, GI… God did not destroy New Orleans. He selected Bush for election ’cause he knew he would fuck the whole thing up and take the blame. Plausible deniability and such as, also.I don’t hope God destroys the Evangelicals, I just hope he tells them to leave the rest of us the fuck alone.

  • Mike H.
  • ceu

Git’s right. In New England, the attitude is we don’t care if you believe or not as long as you don’t talk about it. Some shit is meant to be kept to yourself.

  • Lyle

Washington and Hawaii have the least with a religious affilation.

  • GItheScholar

Well I want to run as the champion of the 17% minority of this country. I want to talk about my lack of religion and want to uphold the separation of church and state by removing at least one of a hundred religious votes. Hey a boy can dream.

  • GItheScholar

Hawaii would be the shite. Hopefully Senators Inouye and Akaka can hang in there for 25 more years and I can have a fighting chance. Well I just did the math and both of these men would be a 110 years old because the were both born in 1924 so that my be a long shot. So I am a big supporter of stem cell research now.

  • Redmond

Anywhere near major cities in PA should be OK. My PA data is from late 70s so it’s probably more like New England now. I used to hide my atheism from Roman Catholics in PA since they were the only ones that gave me shit about it.

SillyGit, just a warning in case you come to PA, it is the exact opposite of New England. James Carville nailed it when he said PA is Pittsburgh and Philadelphia with Alabama in the middle. I’d go a step further and say Alabama’s inbred cousin’s child from a sheet it knocked up.

  • Redmond

Sheet = Sheep. Yee, doggy! I’m getting dumber already just living here.

  • GItheScholar

SillyGit, everywhere expect Philadelphia is very proud of their racism. Pittsburgh won’t even allow a black man to be their quarterback. We have more confederate flags flying high than NASCAR flags which is saying something.

  • ceu

York County for 10 years. It’s a whole different planet than CT.

  • GItheScholar

Hanover PA has a KKK rally ever year. Long live State’s Rights.

  • ceu

They’re here, too, Joe…er…Scholar. Not so long ago a KKK Grand Wizard lived in East Windsor (or South Windsor, one of the Windsors) in CT & held at least one rally in the nearby tobacco fields. Fortunately, it’s not a prevalent attitude here, tho.On the plus side, there’s a really good fabric store just outside Hanover… :)

  • GItheScholar

This thread was dead from the start. I will kindly put her to sleep along with the rest of the PTTers. Goodnight cruel world.

  • SillyGit

Chris – I think it was South Windsor IIRC. Also Meriden CT is home to a shitload of Bikers. I used to chat about Life, the Universe and Everything with several of them at Main Street Bar in Wallingford (before it got bought by Archie Moore’s). The CT Bikers that I spoke with were actually pretty smart. They were nothing like the Bikers I knew in PA who were mostly serious nut cases.I appreciate the heads up about rural PA. I was born in Reading and grew up in Coatesville (Chester Co.) but that is really suburban Philly. Coatesville is now mostly filled with people that commute to Philly (It used to be a big steel town. The mill is still there, but it’s fully automated and they employ only about 10% of the workforce that they used to.). Coatesville is on the Main Line of what used to be the PA Railroad, so Philly is a 30-40 minute train ride. I went to Penn State, but University Park / State College is not very representative of what other towns in central PA are like. It has always been an island of liberalism in a sea of rednecks.
