Lee Stranahan

It’s Barack Obama MadLibs!Expect these headlines – several a day.

Friction between Obama and FILL IN THE BLANK! Obama rift with WHATISNAME! Tension with Obama and WHOZEEWHATS! Did Obama diss LOOKHOWHIPIAMUSINGSLANG?

I think it translates to ‘Someone doesn’t agree with everything Obama says; a situation which Obama fully anticipated and is calmly dealing with.’

Stranahan misses the point of __________, film at 11.

  • http://willpen.wordpress.com willpen

Lee does not miss the point… the point being that the media is looking for something to fill in the blanks. On the other hand, we should ignore it, but we don’t so we are just as guilty as them.

  • HaremScarem

You’re right Stranny, and Bob could take some of that advice re: Dean.

  • frictionsoul

OT, @Lee:If you or your kids have eaten fast food “lately”, read here to find out why your family might be cannibals:http://www.organicconsumers.org/articles/article_16401.cfm

http://openleft.com/showDiary.do?diaryId=10805Yeah nothing to worry about, lol it’s ok guys enjoy your continued oligarchy.

  • KidDynamo0

We have no idea what is going on with Obama and Howard Dean. So we should just chill the hell out. Not everything is a snub or a corruption case. This is GW Bush.

  • Lee Stranahan

I came up with this post after seeing at least three stories this morning on HuffPost with these headlines, more or less…reading the articles makes the headline seem less correct…more like the normal give and take of politics

  • KidDynamo0

correction: this is NOT GW Bush

  • BeddarChob

@frictionsoulIs this the same Richard Stacel who wrote:http://seabrafabiano.spaces.live.com/blog/cns!EA8224AD20AFBD7D!1918.entryI wonder if as much science went into the other article?

  • Kyle W.

Even more OT (from above link):”A person laughs because the body is purging itself of excess fire energy built up in the heart channels when you experience something funny.”BWAHAHAHAHAAA!

Actually – I’ve been watching Obama with a lot of these decisions and I raised the red flag a while ago – I think on this blog. There are a bunch of people I think who expected some good treatment from Obama (read, appointments) but didn’t get them. Kerry and Richardson were the ones that came to mind at the time (Richardson since got an appointment and then lost it). Dean is another one.I’m not really overly concerned – I didn’t vote for Obama so that he could continue the practice of cronyism. Nonetheless, I do wonder what this all means in the grand scheme of things… and because of Dean’s role in revolutionizing the party, I really feel a bit taken aback by Dean being left out in the cold – IF that’s what happened.QT

I agree with Lee. The Republicans are in tatters and instead of taking this time to really try and make some different decisions without a pile-on of opposition, the Democratic Party is busy in-fighting like a bunch of petulant schoolchildren. Could we possibly let Obama become President and make one executive decision before we doubt his every move? Seriously, elevate the discourse.

I swear you’d think the way some people are acting, Obama has been president for 2 years now.My favorite quote from John Cole at Balloon Juice from a blog of his yesterday:>>>”I think of the kind of idiocy we have experienced the last few weeks, when DiFi gets butthurt about Panetta because her ring was not kissed enough and says things that she will have to walk back from in the future. Or when a bunch of people get upset at the number of vaginas in the cabinet and we are told we might as well have elected Rush Limbaugh. Or Rick Warren speaks for 3 minutes at the inauguration and Democrats everywhere shriek that Obama hates gays and some idiots go so far as to cancel their inauguration parties. Or anything Harry Reid has done since November 4th or whenever any jackass anywhere states “That is not the change I voted for” when the man isn’t even in office yet. That sort of nonsense, is to me, at least, the true Democratic circular firing squad.”

  • LameDuckHunting

I’ve said it before…..the Democrats were determined to win control of all three branches of government solely in order to have more quality time fighting amongst themselves. When will they realize they need to unite to make the most of this……..

  • scribblechic

Here’s another thing Obama can add to his impossible National Honey-Do List.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ts5iXVnL-Vg

    >>the Democratic Party is busy in-fighting like a bunch of petulant schoolchildrenYeah, fuck it, let’s pass more tax cuts for the wealthy. Nothing important about tax policy!

  • GItheJOE

I for one am happy that Obama is have trouble with the spineless Senate Democrats. This is a good thing. If I were a Nevada resident I would vote for a Republican before I vote for Harry Reid. Shit, I might volunteer for this GOP candidate in 2010. I know I am going to donate to the GOP in 2010. I am serious.

  • lkl

Amen Queen, DT, Midknite and Ldh,andkudos Lee for your half full glass outlook. We need more dems on that page.

  • SillyGit

Some people say that too much excess fire energy built up in the heart channels can blow your head clean off. Just sayin.I hear that Archer Daniel Midland will have Soylent Green at a store near you before 2010.

  • frictionsoul

@BeddarChobDon’t know if it’s the same. Richard’s point was if you saw the movie Fast Food nation, you didn’t get the “meat” of Schlosser’s book in which ground up human’s are you eat if you eat fast food.Has nothing to do with science, per seAs for sounds curing the body, I don’t know about that since I’m deaf. If it’s science you want, it’s science you’ll get. Have youy ever read anything by Rupert Sheldrake? He’s a scientist who explains why science isn’t all that it’s cracked up to be, such as why science hasn’t figured out why things take the form they eventually take, and why memory isn’t located inside your brain, but just above it in a field.

  • gypsysoul

for the majority isn’t it fighting between right and righter? (wish i knew how to do that little “trademark” logo like smarty pants people)

  • bjritz

To increase the number of “smarty pants people” here you go gypsysoul can do it too.

  • gypsysoul

i am WAY too excited over this ritzy! now tell me how to do the red link thing! i will be on last night’s ptt practicing, post there! hehe. i hate to mess up lee’s thread with my ignorance

  • http://www.windonwater.net QueenTiye

frictionsoul – if Rupert Sheldrake is a scientist, then he stated none of those things as absolute facts. Scientists don’t know where memory resides, and most certainly have not concluded that it resides in a field above the brain. Nor have scientists decided that they don’t know why things take the shape that they do. Science is never absolute until it is concrete, observable, and repeatable, and any scientist arguing anything else is a quack. That is why there is always room for a synergy between science and religion – the two do not dictate to one another – in fact their fields are mutually exclusive. Science cannot deal with the substance of faith, nor can faith dictate the outcome of science.Gypsy: here’s the code – but you can only put one link in a post, otherwise you get filtered:(where I use square brackets, you should use >):[a href="www.your url dot com"]Whatever text you want to put here, or the link itself again[/a]So for instance, here’s a link to my blog post on science:[a href="http://obamaproject.windonwater.net/2009/01/defending-scientific-research/"]QT’s Post About Science[/a]with the right kind of brackets:QT’s Post About ScienceQT

  • Alan4s

@frictionsoul:Sheldrake may have been trained as a scientist (a biochemist actually), but what he does now is nothing but quackery to sell books and speeches. There are no cridible peer-reviewed scientific journals that agree with his nonsense hypothesis.

  • bjritz

PsychSoul…what QT said…yup.I like your retro post idea for testing I didn’t think of that, you are a smart girl! And hot! Oops wrong thread…save for teh PTT.

  • http://www.windonwater.net QueenTiye

Weird. Somehow when Bob fished my thread out of the filter zone, it got corrupted. I typed > and it gave us >):For anyone else curious about how it works, here you go:In place of square brackets you need triangular ones. So for ] put > and for [ put
