Uhhhh-huh-huh-huh

In my Huffington Post column, I mentioned the Drudge headline blasting the STD prevention section of the recovery bill. Turns out, preventing STDs actually does provide relief to the economy — by tens of billions of dollars. The Center for American Progress reports:

– Increase workforce productivity. More than 56,000 people become infected with HIV/AIDS each year. The CDC estimates that the new infections cost the country $56 billion in medical care and lost productivity.

– Lower health industry costs. STDs, some of the most preventable diseases, cost the U.S. health care system as much as $15.3 billion annually.

– Lower federal government costs. The federal government is expected to spend $12.3 billion on HIV/AIDS-related medical care in 2009.

Uhhh. They said STDs.

“The Medicaid Family Planning State Option that was removed from the Economic Stimulus plan currently in debate is essential to the welfare of low-income and uninsured women and families across the U.S.Not only does it provide a necessary health-care safety net for those in need, but it also will save states up to $4 for every $1 invested in this program by reducing unintended pregnancies.”rhrealitycheck.orghttp://preview.tinyurl.com/b8zwvk

Our STD rates are back up, HIV rates and also teenage preg rates are back up….I am writing a post on this later in the week- but yes, bottem line – Bush slashed these budgets over and over- and there are consequences on the slashed budgets and Abstinance training….Also Most States are facing Crisises on the healthcare front- whether it be Federally Funded Programs and Medicaid and Teaching Hospital budgets that Bush slashed….So it is not a small thing…( we should put Boehner ‘s face on Condom wrappers…it could be a real fundraiser…and scare our Youth out of sex…)

Will somebody ask these Republicans how tax cuts stimulate the economy. How can that stimulate the economy, but upgrading our electrical grid or money for infrastructure doesn’t? You give money for projects and as a result people are hired to work. What the fuck is a tax cut going to do?Is there no common sense in this country?

Heh, heh, heh. Paula said “Ruprechtican Repubelickins.” Heh, heh, heh.Someone should remind the Ruprechtican Repubelickins just how many jobs were *not* created by the myriad of tax cuts over the last eight years. What do you call it when you keep repeating the same things over and over again whild expecting different results each time? Can we elect some people who are not obviously insane?

jmy,SillyGit,Tell me you’re not that freakin STUPID!!!Tax relief spurs investment, which spurs growth. Which, in turn creates JOBS!! (Happens every time it’s tried!)WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOUR BELOVED INFRASTRUCTURE MONEY DRIES UP AFTER THE 2 YEAR PROJECT IS DONE. YOUR ANSWER IS SIMPLE, THE CONSTRUCTION COMPANY LAY’S OFF those that it hired for the project.Besides, the construction company is probably only paying 10 bucks an hour, hardly enough the pay the bills.See, I can be an ignorant fool myself!!!
