Welcoming The Infighting

We’re definitely going to see an increase in Democratic / liberal infighting in the coming months. We’ve gotten a glimpse of it so far but strap in because the ride is going to get a lot bumpier. No worries, though – it’s good news. It’s happening because the Republicans are running on fumes in every possible sense of the word.

Their core ideologies have been proven to be bunkum on every front. Abstinence Only causes more sex and more pregnancies. Von Mises style free markets cause massive economic failure. Preemptive war causes endless war and world leaders won’t even shake your bloody hands. The GOP has been exposed at the poker table holding a two, a four, a Topps Bill Buckner trading card, a little piece of paper with ‘IOU’ written on it in crayon, and stained Get Out Of Jail Free card. They got nothing.

So, we’re left to argue amongst ourselves while the incoming administration slowly rebuilds our world. It’s a blessing, isn’t it?

    It’s only that way because a lot of liberals bought into the right wing lie that Obama is a “liberal socialist”. And now they see his cabinet picks are centrists they are upset.

    There was just a West Wing episode on the other day, where Bartlet pisses off the Rethuglicans by unintentionally ( yet intentionally ) makein a snide gun related remark about his opponent Governor Ritchie. CJ and the staff are going back an forth as to how to spin this. The Thuglicans are asking for an apology and are going stand up in congress and protest. Finally at the end while singing some random old song, good old Jed gets up, goes into Leo’s office and tells him to let the Thugs rant and rave and call off all and any democrats. To paraphrase:”Let them holler and sound stupid while we stay quiet and make it about who is smarter.”Maybe we could take a lesson or two from some really good television.

    cm – dude, I was still living in Springfield, MA in 1986…in a room FULL of people saying stuff like ‘not in my GRANDFATHER’S lifetime….’I don’t really blame Bucks, either. I blame Schiraldi.but the nightmare is over…

    I have it on video tape. Yes, Bill Buckner still lives on in the heart of this Mets fan. :) but, yes, we will argue among ourselves because that’s what we do. And we can do it without telling those who disagree that they are unpatriotic or unamerican or if they don’t like it, they can move elsewhere. It will be a nice change.

    I never did understand the notion of preemptive war but now – abstinence caused sex? Shouldn’t that be referred to as preemptive sex?
