i might get slammed for this, but…i understand obama isn’t president yet, but i am tired of the rehashing of what he is going to do. we elected you. we know what you plan to do! go further into the actions you plan to take to accomplish these things. or give us something new. bush obviously has no desire in even pretending to govern, i am sure he wouldn’t mind.and i know speaking on an economic depression doesn’t say jazz hands…but anybody else need more spice?!

No, I don’t need more spice, and unfortunately, nothing can be done till after he’s inaugurated – but what he is doing (educating the nation) is pretty darned good.Your comment reminds me of what I said in one of Lee’s threads. Obama can’t give too many speeches because we the people are greedy for Obama-magic…which will have a tendency to wear off.Consider: Obama’s most memorable speeches are these: when we’d never heard of him, when he was in trouble (New Hampshire, Rev Wright), when we really needed him to speak for us (Democratic nomination), when his grandmother died. Frankly his inaugural acceptance speech doesn’t rank for me, but if it ranks for you, consider the occasion. In other words… the “spice” Obama speeches are moments when we need them, not just on-demand. They soar because they speak to a need in us… not just because we want to dance to Obama music. These bland youtube addresses ate functional – they keep the dialogue open between us and the president-elect. He’ll rise to the occasion once again when we really need him to… maybe even in a few days. ;-) Nate Silver has a great post up about the Obama stimulus… one that encourages left wing protest but puts it in a nice context…QT

    >>go further into the actions you plan to take to accomplish these things.I don’t really want him to tip his strategic hand. Knowing what his plans are, as well as the accompanying timeline is fine by me.

I think it’s smart not to give too many details up front. That way when he’s forced to change plans he won’t get people saying that he flip-flopped again.
