I dont know…i dont trust tweety to keep that up. his attention span is too short

Republicanistacal party!Barney Frank is a great character.

Why isn’t that said more often? It’s just a childish shot that has no real meaning at all!Oh, and why were wars and natural disasters left out of previous Republican’t budgets?

Is it just me or does Issa look like he might come at Tweety with a cattle gun?Maybe I’ve just Coen brothers on the brain.

Issa’s trying to make the GOP Congress 2002-2006 out to be the height of fiscal responsibility. And in fact, on Republican World, it was. On Republican World, $3 trillion in “emergency” spending on an unecessary war, and the largest new entitlement in 40 years, don’t count. What a world they live in.

gulp…thank you chris matthews…i guess

Its about time, its called the democratic party not the democrat party and the republicans doing that all the time is just childish. If they want to be taken seriously they need to start acting like adults.

What I love about it is, as soon as he introduced Issa, I wondered how long it would take him to say “democrat party” and I had barely finished the thought. So good for Chris Matthews, now if he could call out Tom Delay for the divisive pig that he is instead of bowing to him after a slight criticism of partisanship. Matthews should tell Delay, “I AM partisan. I’m not a reporter, this is my show, I have my point of view and my guests have theirs, now shut your bug zappin’ cakehole.”

They want to pretend that they are just using the right grammar or some shit like that, but it’s funny how they all decided to go School House fucking Rock on the Democratic Party all at the same time and then refuse to back down on it. What is he, Issa The Grammarian now or something?Whenever challenged on it, they reply that we shouldn’t think it’s such a big deal. Fine. If it’s not such a big deal, stop saying it fucktards.

I was quite pleased when I saw that today. I had to rewind the DVR a few times to watch it again.

I know they say it just to piss off democrats, but really, what’s the big deal? When I was younger, I didn’t understand why it was the democratic party if democrats call themselves democrats and republicans call themselves republicans. The real question is, why does everyone bow to their will and call them the Grand Old Party? Why compliment them like that? What did they do to deserve it?
eric
Well if they want to continue saying the Democrat Party shouldn’t we start calling their rising star by his birth name Piyush instead of the name he co-opted?
Eruleptanero
I move that we immediately begin referring to the Issa’s party as the Republicanistical Party.
Eruleptanero
“…the Issa’s party…”Little typo there – forget the “the” part.

I’ll give Matthews his due. He’s losing patience with the GOP and he’s not shying away from a confrontation.

I love Chris Matthews. I know he can be an idiot, but his heart is in the right place, just about always. QT

Yeah, I enjoyed this one too. Matthews makes me crazy with his interrupting cow routine, but he’s batting a thousand this week.

I know they say it just to piss off democrats, but really, what’s the big deal?I have a fairly simple last name, but many people seem to have a problem pronouncing it. After I spell it for them, I repeat the pronunciation. A woman once said to me “that’s not how I’d say it!” (in a rather snotty tone). Who gives a shit how YOU’D say it?! It’s MY name and that’s how I say it. Repeatedly pronouncing it wrong, obviously on purpose, is not only annoying & impolite, it’s a sign of HUGE disrespect.THAT’s what the big deal is – the complete contempt with which these idiots hold members of the Democratic Party, many of whom are their constituents. They don’t have to like us, but they also don’t have to spit on us at every opportunity.
sammyscooge
Even though Mathews makes me crazy most of the time with his interviewing style, this made up for a lot of the annoying stuff he does. I was very happy that he did this. I do have to wonder though, if he’d be just as tough on more formidable guests. He might have known that Issa would be an easy guest to chastise. I’d like to see him do the same thing (as hepwa noted above) to the likes of Tom Delay.Regardless, it’s still a score and long overdue.

When you were a CHILD. These are elected members of Congress!

Fair enough.

Matthews is, at best, a frontrunner. That’s what irks me about him; he checks for wind direction and he’s off.But he blows harder than any of them.

I periodically max out on Tweety, when I can no longer tolerate his frequently embarrassing behavior and comments. Then he goes and does the Perfect Thing, as he did here, calling out Issa on that ridiculous passive-aggressive “Democrat Party” bullshit – and all is forgiven. He keeps dragging me back in!

Worth repeating:”…now shut your bug zappin’ cakehole.”*howl*
