Doof Quote of the Day

“He had a reverence for the office, that’s why he didn’t get partisan. He thought it was irreverent to turn the Oval Office, or the Office of the Presidency, into a partisan strategic battle place.” —Rush Limbaugh talking about George W. Bush

Not a Battleground? Hmmm… He must have forgotten about all the games of “Battleship” that were held there.

    WHAAAAAAA??!?!?!?!

  • ElMystico

Bob, Bob, Bob… You’re taking that quote out of context. It really reads:”He thought it was irreverent to turn the Oval Office, or the Office of the Presidency, into a partisan strategic battle place…Although he did often hold meetings in the presidential unicorn stables.”

    Dude, Rush you fucking suuuuuck.

  • trustno1

Broadway Carl, that was my reaction.WHAT?(followed by)WHAT THE F—-??????Between this and JTP as new policy advisor, I am definitely going to start looking for elves and unicorns and…

  • ceu

you’re claiming that Bush was partisan?? Unreal! You’re just a bunch of left-wing, liberal, bleeding-heart, haters!AND, I hope you fail.

  • MatthewN

Thanks bunches, Bob…I usually manage to keep Rush’s excretions from entering my brain.next time start the post with “Warning, this post contains a Rush Limbaugh quote and may not be suitible for pregnant women, minors, minorities, intelligent beings, bonobos, patriots, sentient mammals, pixies, self aware robots, or Matthew N.Thanks

  • exoevolution

Yeah right! Next thing you know Rush will be telling us that W was a great President & Palin would make a great President also & that he wishes Obama would fail & that his fat ass is really slimmer than it looks on TV.Rush you are the all-time #1 CORPORATE prostitute, I assume you get paid by the hour & that “nothing” is beneath you!Rush, you sure know how to work that corner!

  • jane

    Chris, snicker.

  • SillyGit

Chris -LMAORush -Eat Me, you pompous cloud of flatulence.(Rush is really an inflatable doll inflated with bovine gas emissions. The Mr. Rush the magic Methane Balloon.™)

  • brutlyhonest

What you guys don’t get is that rush and other blowhards will repeat this BS over and over. Their brain-dead followers will repeat the same BS to everyone they know. These lemmings will repeat it, too. Next thing you know, it will be common knowledge that he was the greatest president since Reagan.

You remember him, right? Remember that cloud he left office under? How he turned surpluses into deficits? Violated the Constitution to keep us safe? Neither does anyone else.

Can you say Reagan-Bush National Airport?

  • ceu

I still call it National, BH. “Reagan” never really caught on with my & my liberal friends. Perhaps if they’d named it St. Ron of the Trickles…We do get that Rush will say it again – repeatedly – and the lemmings will believe it – repeatedly, and there isn’t a whole lot we can do about it except mock them for it.

  • Lee B.

brutlyhonest is correct. There’s really nothing shocking about this comment. Just listen to his show for 30 minutes and you’ll hear stuff like this repeatedly. It’s like he lives in an alternate universe. What makes it scary is that so many people buy this crap, hook, line, & sinker.

  • AC

Yes, Rush. Karl Rove was head domestic policy adviser because he’s such a POLICY GENIUS.The entire EOP apparatus was a propaganda generation machine.

  • Packy

I think Rush simply misspoke. He meant “irrelevant,” not irreverent.

  • http://www.osborneink.com Matt Osborne

Rush: “the way things oughtta be” broadcast from Republican World, a dimension where every day is opposites day!

  • Lyle

Rush the magic German won’t be around much longer. His cardiovascular system is burdened by a Falwellian amount of yellow fat, he has a history of drug use and a lifetime of failed relationships. His listeners should appreciate every non sequitur as Jesus and his winged actuarials will soon be calling him home to Cloud City.

  • brutlyhonest

My apologies- Most the people who read/write here do get it. It may, however, surprise you that not all his listeners are uneducated, mouth-breathers. When he first pushed his way onto the scene peddling his Clinton hate, I was subjected to it almost daily as the first person in the chart room (where we did pre-flight planning) picked the radio station. I quickly realized that the people who listened to him and repeated his drivel weren’t open to real debate.

And don’t try discussing his many defects: That’s his personal life and he is to be commended for openly confronting and defeating his demons. Yes, they really rationalize that way.

PS, I still call it National, too.
