MOTHER JONES: You’ve risen to fame critiquing the Bush administration. Will your show change without that foil?

MADDOW: As if Fox News did really poorly with Bush in the White House?

I was just talking about this dynamic with a friend of mine. The highest trafficked month in the history of this blog was October when George W. Bush was barely on the front pages. The second highest trafficked month in the history of this blog was January — a hair slower than October. I think we’ve all discovered that the Republicans and FOX News and far-right talk radio and the far-right blogs are crazier than they ever were while Bush was president.

In other words, Rachel and the rest of us will do fine.
