Gregg Proving His Scorpion Nature

On one side, there’s President Obama. Extending his hand to the other side, right or wrong, whether it’s on the recovery bill or his cabinet posts.

On the other side, there are the Republicans. Refusing to be anything but the partisan hacks and wackaloons we’ve all come to know and distrust.

Ultimately, I don’t mind that Senator Gregg has dropped out. But this is yet another indication that the Republicans have no intention of meeting the president halfway on a goddamn thing. They will, in fact, attempt to sabotage the president at every turn because it’s their nature.

I’m glad he’s gone. IMO, it was not a good nomination – why would we want someone as the head of a department that he wants to abolish? Sounds like the GOP & how they feel about governing in general. If you don’t believe that something should exist, why should you be in charge of overseeing it? A job not worth doing is not worth doing well.

They don’t appear to want to be part of the solution. Fine. Let them wander in the wilderness for a while. Pretty soon they’re going to be shut out of the process. I think it’s what they want. They’re much better whiners and babies than legislators anyways…

I like that philosophy.”If you believe something shouldn’t exist become the leader of it and destroy it.”This is why I have put my name into the running for, “New Supreme Pastor his Holiness of Thee Saddleback Church”.Don’t worry I running as a fiscal conservative and giant homophobe. For my next mission, I am going to work my way into the DOD….wait….

  • Nanotyrnns

You’ve heard the new definition for the word ‘saddleback’ or ‘saddlebacking”, right?

  • GIthePotato

    No?

Very funny, Nano. Scroll down to the bottom and prepare to be educated, Joe.

Better he fessed up before he was confirmed and wreaking havoc with Obabm’s policies. Now he can be welcomed back into the arms of the dark side and good riddance!

  • GIthePotato

Well, that is way mom always did it. Me and Brother are both in vitro.

As I wrote in my blog tonight, the GOP is in Last Stand mode,a loose military term used to describe a body of troops holding a defensive position in the face of overwhelming odds. The defensive force usually takes very heavy casualties or is completely destroyed, while also inflicting high casualties on the opponent. Except in rare exceptions, such as Rorke’s Drift and the Battle of Longewala, the defending force is usually annihilated. This is what you have to expect from a party that has internalized its End Times theology. This is what happens when you steep too long in the politics of resentment and exclusion.

Bob,Just a thought here, but isn’t our nation the greatest nation on earth exactly because we are allowed differing principles? Gregg states that he changed his mind because he couldn’t reconcile the new post with his principles.I don’t think this was done to sabotage or obstruct the Obama admin. This is a man who seemed to have been caught up in the moment, honored to have been asked, and changed his mind because what he would have represented went against his worldview in such a way that it would have been irreconcilable. It’s as simple as that.Sometimes, you have to get past the partisan bullshit to see that. These two parties are so busy demonizing each other it’s a miracle (like the god reference?) anything gets done in Washington.Word to the wise in Washington. Many don’t care what party you belong to. We don’t even really care where you stand on the issues right now. All we care about is that you do your fucking job. Lose the ideology, and get something done. That should be a simple focus, but when kindergartners are thrown together in a sand box, the only thing you can really count on is two sides fighting over who gets the best toys. Fucking ridiculous.Simple solution: The Democrats have the votes. Vote on the damn thing, fuck the Repubs, and deal with the consequences later. What’s happening in Washington right now only adds fuel to the argument that change is not possible in our Capitol so long as either party exists.
