I Called It!

Krugman today:

Basically, the political philosophy of the GOP right now seems to consist of snickering at stuff that they think sounds funny. The party of ideas has become the party of Beavis and Butthead.

I called it back on January 28:

Prompted by Drudge and Limbaugh, the Republicans are lurching around like less-cool, less-serious Beavis & Butthead knockoffs, snickering at the mere mention of birth control; their suit jackets slung over their heads Cornholio-style as they cackle, “He said rubbers! Mmm-heh-heh. Uhhh-huh-huh. But take us seriously or else.”

  • jmrunning3

They sure as hell taken ‘em seriously here! Co-workers are talking about the “Tea Party” thing Friday. I just snickered and thought about Bob’s recent analysis of the original Tea Party as a protest again corporate tax breaks.mousesandtrainsmousesandtrains

I think Bob is famouser than the establishment lets on… evidence the first – Krugman copycatting! Evidence the second… Joe Scarborough pee-pantsing…QT

  • Lee Stranahan

Queen,I agree – Bob, like a lot of artist, needs to up his self promo game…even as high profile as he is…And I’ve been pushing him for AUDIO BOOKS … he’s got the material AND the voice. Yay Bob GO!

  • Alan4s

I vote for Audiobooks too. One Nation Under Fear downloaded to my iPod from Audible.com would kick ass.

    Audiobooks! Bob voice! ~faints~QT

I heard Noron quoting this earlier on the MSNBC and did a double take. Was surprised to hear it was Krugman, not The Cesca.

  • Lee Stranahan

Alan – totally – it would be ENTERTAINING, too – something some audiobooks aren’t….One of the best audiobooks IMO is Sarah Vowell’s Assassination Vacation. Multiple voices – just fun and interesting. Love to see that sort of treatment for Bob’s book.

  • Packy

Well, I can say that I was feckin’ impressed with Obama. I only misted up once, though.

  • danann

That’s why I come here. Bob gets it, before anyone else. And articulates it. I love it

  • http://www.windonwater.net QueenTiye

Packy – what was your mist-up moment? (Mine are on my site. Yes. I’m bragging. I blogged today. Said nothing. Quoted the president. LOL!)QT

  • thruwithbuzz

I misted up too Packy, mine was when he was talking about the school girl writing the letter.

    I Heart Krugman

  • natasha

Because you rock, Bob! And always hit the nail on the head!

  • AdyLeigh

They’re a little like “Dumb and Dumber” too. Also, “Bobby Jindal, Mark Sanford, Rick Perry and Haley Barbour’s Excellent Adventure.”

  • http://cousinavi.wordpress.com cousinavi

Bob is overrated. He cannot remove stubborn stains and his gravy is always lumpy.

  • http://cousinavi.wordpress.com cousinavi

I watch the old people doing tai chi. There’s one very old woman who hugs a very old tree for awhile at the end of the program…some sort of the life force thing. If it were anyone else but her, it would be idiotic foolishness.I like watching her hug the tree. For her, and for me as long as it’s her, it’s real.I especially like that tree.

  • http://www.windonwater.net QueenTiye

lol cousinavi. I haven’t attempted to use Bob’s stubborn stain removing powers. But I think you’re right. Joe Scarborough is still in the tv… :( QT

  • Lyle

Bob’s looking a bit needy. Your horn sounds best when it is blown by others.
