Jindal Sends Back $90 Million

Governor Bobby Jindal has officially refused delivery on $90 million — not for mice or ACORN or condoms, but $90 million in jobless benefits for 25,000 unemployed Americans.

Keep going, Republicans! You’re doing great!

But Bob, he is a man of color and with Michael Steele applying his “Hip Hop” strategy to the GOP they will surely beat President Obama in 2012.Oh lord, please let it be Jindal/Palin in 2012. It will be the greatest landslide victory in Democratic History.

  • jaywillie

Yeah, but he is reducing his exorcism fee.See, Jindal knows people are facing difficult times.

  • AdyLeigh

So, during bad times folks should have exorcisms instead of jobs or unemployment benefits? Well, I guess that’ll be cheaper, anyway. You know, if any state can afford to turn away money, it’s LA, right? WTF is this man thinking?

  • http://watergatesummer.blogspot.com/ enigma4ever

I heard that the Repug Governors are doing it on “Principle”…so starving folks and inflicting more hardship makes them GOOD Repug Leaders ????WTF? there should be a place in hell for these asswipes…

  • Ozzie

Hey liberal jackasses.. Louisana has plenty of funds for unemployment.. He dont need the money or the strings.. He isnt a liberal that will take the money and stick in his own pocket..

  • jojo

haha, great job max. i still can’t believe joseph cao voted against it too, what a puss. and to think freepers hate him because he’s “not american enough.”

  • ElMystico

Awesome. Because every time I saw a republican on tv threatening to do that, I’ve been chanting, ‘do it, do it.’ I see my psychic chants work! Now, I will do my rain dance. But seeing as how it’s already snowing I guess it would just be a warmth dance…

  • rogect8

Hey Ozzie – I think you mean “He ‘doesn’t’ need the money.” It’s called “english” – you should really try it the next time you’re trying to argue against people who are smarter than you.As for Jindal, I’ll bet if that money were for state-funded exorcisms he’d accept it.Seriously – refusing the extension of welfare benefits during a recession? This guy just cemented his spot as the GOP frontrunner for 2012. He’s instantly set upself up as a hero over at Faux News. The only thing I worry about is that other republican governors with national ambitions might follow suit just to keep up.

  • SillyGit

HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH[inhale]rogect8 -Crist and the Governator will not refuse the money. Their constituents will remove their gonads if they do.Sanford is probably stupid enough to and most of his constituents are ill-educated hicks who hate government, socialism and love the Jeebus baby.

  • veralynn

    can’t they recall Jindal?

  • GIthePotato

Don’t panic fellow liberal jackasses. I heard Hannity crying about this issue before it was finalized today. The LA state legislator can go around Jindal and get the money for the people. He will get the credit for being a conservative/racist and it will benefit him with every voter that hasn’t ever collected unemployment benefits, which is getting much smaller and southern white racist but they won’t vote for him because he is colored so I am missing something.Oh…He DON’T need to get elected!

  • MelodyMaker

Anybody get what BJ means when he says business taxes will rise if people get extensions on UI? I thought tax rates were set by governments, not by whether thousands of people can eat and have a place to live for a few more months. I don’t know what kind of star power this guy thinks he has, but actively punishing the unemployed (and by extension, local economies) seems pretty silly.Additionally: what a dick!

  • shootingczar

Every working class and unemployed – hell – ALL Louisianans should be in the streets protesting about this kind of irresponsible behavior on the part of the Governor.

  • bibimimi

Nice going, Jindal. Your future in the Party is secure. Don’t forget to wipe.

  • rick390

Now things are getting interesting. Jindal will be the man of the hour and the star of the conservative pundits. But, what will the fallout be. Can he take the heat if the good citizens of LA feel that they have been stiffed for the sake of Jindal’s principles.

  • 24hourjack

im sure gov. jindal doesnt approve of the socialist-ass SCHIP bill either.he oughtta tell the uninsured children of louisianna that its way too socialist for him and that theyre all all on their own when they get sick.

I’d like to see a slapfight between Sanford and Graham about South Carolina monies. I’m sure Steele and the NO party while be having its next meeting very soon.

  • sammyscooge

Oh PUHLEEZE refuse the money Jindal, et al.I want to see their heads on a plate.

  • Lini

Kudo’s to Jindal. With all the strings attached with mandates you saved your state billions in the long run. I only hope other states follow suit and send the Federal Government a message. Thank you Jindal with all my heart.

  • AdyLeigh

You sure you’ve got a heart, Lini?

  • bibimimi

    Ady–*smack*cosmic hi-five, there.

  • SillyGit

    Ady -Nah. One huge dick.

  • Eastwest49

The zombies who frequented the Palin rallies will suddenly wake up and smell the coffee if these ideologues are denying them the solace of extended unemployment benefits when there are no jobs. This is going to be a Republican apocalypse.

What in the fuck…What an irresponsible sack of shit.Refusing 90 million dollars for unemployed which has to include a large amount of people on the still-trashed gulf coast,
