As usual, dead on, Bob.Adding: Hysterical, too.

Bob,Awesome article.Did any of you see the comments under the youtube of Glen Beck? I am not sure why I am always left speechless when I read quotes – I know I should be used to this by now. But, it never ceases to amaze me. I am beyond thankful for you Bob. You and Jon Stewart keep me sane and laughing. Thank you

“…characters more freakish than the acid trip monsters from Yo Gabba Gabba.”Now you’re just being unfair to Yo Gabba Gabba.Great stuff though!

  • vroooom

A first grade teacher explains to her class that she is a liberal Democrat. She asks her students to raise their hands if they were liberal Democrats too. Not really knowing what a liberal Democrat was, but wanting to be like their teacher, their hands flew up into the air. There was, however, one exception. A girl named Lucy had not gone along with the crowd. The teacher asks her why she has decided to be different. “Because I’m not a liberal Democrat.” “Then,” asks the teacher, “What are you?” ”Why I’m a proud conservative Republican,” boasts the little girl. The teacher, a little perturbed and her face slightly red, asked Lucy why she was a conservative Republican. “Well, I was brought up to trust in myself instead of relying on an intrusive government to care for me and do all of my thinking. My Dad and Mom are conservative Republicans, and I am a conservative Republican too.” The teacher, now angry, loudly says, “That’s no reason! What if your Mom was a moron, and your dad was a moron. What would you be then?” She pauses, and lets out a smile. “Then,” Lucy says, “I’d be a liberal Democrat.”

Bob’s columns totally need a soundtrack. When he says stuff like thisSo they’re gathering in their secret war rooms in the Orange County underground and on the floor of the Chicago Mercantile Exchange, grinding the tips of their Salvatore Ferragamo Pregiato Moccasins into razor-sharp spears and fashioning their Bentley key fobs into makeshift nunchucks in preparation for a supremely ridiculous rebellion led by a cast of far-right characters more freakish than the acid trip monsters from Yo Gabba Gabba.I can’t help but hear The Sabre Dance.

  • ElMystico

Oh, Vroooom, you always come up with the best made-up, facile chain emails! I swear, if my dad hadn’t already sent me that one, I’d be just rolling in the aisles! I’m gonna slap my knee just for you! You are a hoot!

vrooom suggests liberals don’t think for themselves. I wonder what vrooom thinks of slightly right of center independents who support Barack Obama?Anyway – everyone, digg Bob’s HuffPost blog like crazy, and show him some love in the comments (there and here). One thing, Bob. While the rich television hate-mongers are playing games to sheep-herd their followers into fightingto protect the sheep-herder’s wealth, some of the sheep are unstable crazies who don’t know it’s just a game. I resent profoundly the games they are playing with the president’s life and the wellbeing of the first family.QT

Vrooom’s comment needs a soundtrack too. A rim-shot, followed by crickets.

vroooom,How about a true story? While my grandson was living with me during the time his mom (my daughter) was serving in Kuwait he was the only one in his third grade class to say that he supported John Kerry. His only reason was because his grandpa supported John Kerry – duh! He was a third grader! He was so shamefully taunted and humiliated that I had to pick him up from school early that day!So, just go fuck yourself and the horse you rode in on! Republicans are by and large narcissistic assholes that could give a shit less about anyone that doesn’t fit into there little niche!Being mean, stupid, and downright hateful towards those you Taliban-publicans don’t agree with is your nature ………. as Bob would say, “it’s the nature of a scorpion”.Just sting me though! I don’t go down without a fight!

Jeanine Garafolo on Keith tonight, paraphrasing”conservatives become conservatives because they have something wrong with them”she also said the kind of women who go for Rush Limbaugh are the same ones that go for guys in prison.Bwahahaha

  • JackDanieL

I’d love to say that this is the best article you’ve written dude, but I’d just have to copy/paste that same review for whatever you are going to give us next week!Keep bangin’ brother – you are what this country is all about.

Go! Bob!Outstanding! The Hannity ‘What kind of revolution do you want?’ thing is driving me crazy. He doesn’t allow you to say what kind you want, you have to select from a list of predetermined selections and the revolution that I want is not on the list. The revolution that I want is the one where citizens can tar and feather the corporate propagandists that monopolize the public airwaves with their blatant lies. Then run them out of the country on a rail, never to dirty the public airwaves with their corporate propaganda ever again. If we can eliminate the propaganda and start employing real journalists to provide real news again, then most of our other problems will get solved rather quickly. The lies and misinformation has to be eliminated if we are to have a real democracy.

  • SillyGit

Your HuffPo comment was outstanding QT and the expanded version even more so.

  • http://www.southofstrange.com Matt Osborne

    Kansas, that was awesome.

  • http://www.windonwater.net QueenTiye

Kansas, thanks for sharing that story.SillyGit – thank you. You’ve no idea how angry I am today and what kind of fuse I’m sitting on at present. That was probably the “kinder, gentler” version of what I really wanted to say.QT

  • MelodyMaker

Bob, you’re one of the few that care enough to spell “Michele Bachmann.” (I’m in the 4th, we spell it Betty(!))SadlyNo! mocked this well.My question: where are they going to get the tea?Lipton is a Unilever brand. Unilever is a British and Dutch owned conglomerate. Ohh. Now it makes sense. No it doesn’t.

  • The Dogfather

Thanks, Bob — I really needed this one. I just had this same frightening discussion with a wingnut acquaintance of mine yesterday, and he was tossing around the “armed revolution” mania while predicting that the country would fall to ruin in the next 6 months. I reminded him that the country has ALREADY fallen to ruin in the past 8 years, and that us grown-ups were now starting to put things back together. That’s when he predicted for the last time that an armed revolution would soon take place. I reminded him that 65% of the citizens of this country agreed with me, and not with him, and his response was “yeah, but we’re the ones with the guns…”.Frightening…

  • bjritz

Congrats on the great post on Huffpo! This is my favorite response in the comments:

Dear Bob Cesca,Let me once again state that I adore you and will marry you sight unseen! I am employed and not bad looking.Just kidding, but I think this post is so darn good that I’m overwhelmed.Loveya, darcy

    Everyone is feeling the lurv!

  • bjritz

I don’t know what happened to my blockquote above?? Back to remedial html.

  • SillyGit

bjritz -It wasn’t your fault. The bolg software is fucking with you. I found out the hard way also. You have to blockquote each paragraph. The blog s/w automatically closes any open blockquote tags when it detects a paragraph close. This protects the blog from unclosed tags. I would have put blockquotes at a different state machine level myself, but this is a safer way to do it.

    Nice article
