Pollgasm: As Popular As Cheney

New favorability ratings according to Research 2000 (with January in parentheses):

Mitch McConnell: 23% (28%)
John Boehner: 17% (20%)
Congressional Republicans: 18% (25%)

For contrast, President Obama? 69. Speaker Pelosi? 43.

GOP attempts to increase their favorability ratings have consisted of continuing the very same things they have been doing for 15 years. The ranting and raving and attempts to distract by raising hell over bs. They just keep doing it louder.

Get ready for the usual spin everybody, cause it’s on its way:When republicans are popular, they’re governing based on a mandate from ‘the people.’When republicans are unpopular, they’re taking a tough stance and fighting for what they believe in.When democrats are popular, they’re governing based on opinion polls. When democrats are unpopular, it’s because ‘the people’ have rejected their message / core ideology.Any of this sound familiar? Should be any minute now…

I can’t fucking wait to see a poll of Bobby Jindal. I am watching this toolbox on MTP right now and I am scared. He is well spoken but fucking crazy and being used by the GOP just like Michael Steele. The real power behind the throne of the GOP are rich old white anglo saxon protestant men and are using Jindal’s and Steele’s skin color as a catalyst to push their retarded conservative(banning funds from people of color) principles without being called racist.SO YES, A LIBERAL DID BRING RACE INTO THIS MATTER!

  • ElMystico

I’m glad that Pelosi is polling way higher than Reid. I feel like they’re too often lumped together in the media. Nancy Pelosi shows up ready to play, and Reid is an ineffectual sandpile in suit and glasses and deserves his shitty approval rating. I vote we replace him with Sen. Thunderbird of the mysterious, migrating 51st state of Hohoq (also known as ‘Ar.’) I don’t care that he’s fictional! He’s bound to be better than Harry “Cloture Me Sweetly” Reid. Especially given that he is an awesome and terrible creature with a massive wingspan and a razor-sharp beak.

GI, just because a liberal sees the race in the matter doesn’t mean he injected it. Race was already there.

  • GIthePotato

CPT Osborne,Thank you. That was troll bait. One of the trolling assholes wrote, “Why are liberals the first to bring race into the matter?” You are right, race was already there and to ignore it is to ignore reality. Which is really the GOP strategy.

The Republican’ts are obviously betting on our nations failure to bolster their support!Note that I say our nations failure, not just Obama’s. He walked into a mess and may not be able to turn it around fast enough to satisfy the electorate.I fear if that happens and Republican’ts regain power in 2010 and 2012 we will see true Armageddon!

We may not have to wait till then to see Armageddon.. if Glenn Beck and all the others at Fix News have their way..they are stoking the flames of war now…they keep on, we will have a civil war and they will try to overthrow the government.

they keep on, we will have a civil war and they will try to overthrow the government.

Ultimately, they’re too chickenshit to do anything. When there’s real skin in the game, there’ll be a lot less bully talk.

    >>>Ultimately, they’re too chickenshit to do anything. When there’s real skin in the game, there’ll be a lot less bully talk.not from the base carl! it wouldn’t take much for those crazies to start foaming at the mouth and grabbing their guns! look how they turned on their own (mccain) when he tried to maintain civility.
