Spazzy White Revolution

Wow. The spazzy white guys in lower Manhattan have totally lost their spazzy white shpadoinkle!

First, the Drudge front page:

drudge_trader_revolt.jpg

And here’s the spazziest of the spazzy white guys, CNBC’s Rick Santelli, declaring his intentions to rise up against the president if the government spends $75 billion to help ordinary Americans — “losers” as Santelli calls them. Of course Santelli had no problem with spending 10 times that amount on a banking bailout, but who needs consistency when you have spazzy white guy power.

These are the people who tell us that markets go up and down? Why are they shocked that a market that went up spectacularly (due to new ways of trading and insuring debt that was HUGELY risky), also fell so very far.Do they not believe what they tell us?

  • http://nanotyrnns.blogspot.com/ Nanotyrannus

In all of that spittle and “Oh the indignity of it all” prattle, did any of them offer anything useful? Maybe a different solution? Perhaps a comprehensive look at Obama’s plan?Nope.

  • AdyLeigh

    No, Eve, they really don’t.

  • AdyLeigh

Geez, that guy’s like Tweety on crack…

  • Sierradrinker

That is some true compassionate conservatism for you.Instead of showing Spazzy White Guy #48′s rant, you really could have posted a clip from History of the World Part I.Leader of Senate: All fellow members of the Roman senate hear me. Shall we continue to build palace after palace for the rich? Or shall we aspire to a more noble purpose and build decent housing for the poor? How does the senate vote?Entire Senate: FUCK THE POOR!

  • GItheScholar

eve, they most certainly don’t believe anything they tell the masses. If they scream bloody murder about a certain stock, BUY IT! If they are happy as a big in shit with a stock, SELL IT! If they tell you to invest in a 401K, DON’T DO IT! Regardless of what is on the TV Machine about investing the SWGILM are loving this market. It takes a volatile market for the SWGILM to make money everyday instead of a nice slow growth strategy.I am enrolled in an Investment course as we speak and this is a buyers/SWGILM market. SWGILM are buying the stocks that make up the masses/YOUR 401K for a beautiful discounted price. The recession will end and Investor Psychology will move from SCARED SHITLESS to TIME TO BUY and the SWGILM know this. So they are dumping stock values to benefit their own portfolios and the BOTTOM OF THE MARKET is probably right now. If I know that, SWGILM know it. So I BOUGHT SOME SHIT.

I don’t understand why I should put out the fire in the house next door to mine. I wasn’t the irresponsible one with the faulty wiring and bucket of oil soaked rags.Let it burn.

  • eve

“Geez, that guy’s like Tweety on crack…”funniest thing I have read today

  • SillyGit

Ady -”Geez, that guy’s like Tweety on crack…”Even worse, that guy makes Tweety look smart.Rick is one of the assholes that brought us:”I’ve got mine, Fuck everyone else.”

  • AdyLeigh

Thanks, EveUm…GItheScholar, that’s a scary course to take, isn’t it? I wish I didn’t know the stuff that I do in this current economic crisis. On the other hand, you’ll learn all about deflation and that’s even scarier. Sometimes ignorance really is bliss.

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

Wow, I just saw this before coming here. What a complete douchenozzle.

Mike: I don’t understand why I should put out the fire in the house next door to mine. I wasn’t the irresponsible one with the faulty wiring and bucket of oil soaked rags.Let it burn.

Gee, Mike, that sounds great. You don’t think the flames will spread? How soon before the foreclosures in your neighborhood causes the value of your house to fall below what you still owe on the mortgage? I hope you feel the same way and won’t take any help as you sit in the street blaming the government for your woes in a psychotic, drooling rant, because I certainly don’t want to pay for your house.

  • GIthePotato

Git,This is America and America Are Winners!!!!Nothing says welcome to the United States like, “I fucking got mine bitches so go fuck yourself!””’Cause I am proud to be an American”””’And I’ll gladly stand up next to you”’Not literally stand up next to you but figuratively and not really me standing with you because my patriotic duty was to shop during the war.

  • camel54

The funniest part to me was him referring to that group of traders as a representative cross-section of the country. Can he really believe that a room full of traders is remotely representative of the rest of us? I imagine he does, which is what makes him and all of those idiots who work for the companies and in the industry that helped bring us this mess so detached and delusional.

  • http://unrelatedcontent.com Travis D

Rich people are mad as hell and they’re not going to take it anymore. Some of them had to move out of their mansions!

  • http://www.deusexmalcontent.com Chez

This just rules in every possible way. That’s how lunatic it is.The balls — the big, choking, brass balls on these guys — is just astonishing.

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

Let’s see what happens to you freeloading scalpers now.

Biting the hands that feed you while expecting utopia.

Posted by: enormonous at February 19, 2009 3:13 PM

Another completely useless comment from enormonous. Who’s biting the hand that feeds you? The Republican Governors in the middle of political posturing by threatening to reject sorely needed federal aid for their constituents while their states go bankrupt? And you call us clueless?! What a fucking joke you are.

  • http://unrelatedcontent.com Travis D

Now that the oligarchists have come out and admitted that they’re waging war on the working man, can we FINALLY have social democracy like all of the other industrial powers? This is fucking ridiculous.

  • ceu

Psst – Carl. I think Mike was being facetious, no?

  • AdyLeigh

Broadway Carl’s right. I live in SC where I have to endure Gov. Mark Sanford’s schizophrenic craziness. The man’s fucking insane, but he has an ‘R’ after his name, so the idiots keep voting for him.And this state is in bad, bad shape with unemployment already over 9.5%. Nevermind that, though. Gov. Sanford wants to play a game of chicken with economic disaster. But, hey, it’s fun. Won’t ya move here and hop on our fine ride?

  • http://www.politicalpartypooper.wordpress.com/ politicalpartypooper

enourmonous,I understand your angst, but seriously, the Obama plan is not about helping people who earn $100k plus, who bought a house WAY out of their price range and could never afford the payments even before the bottom fell out.Mostly, it’s for people with ARMS, who were teased into a 5.5% rate, one year before their rate jumped to 13%. You have no idea how many people were brainfucked by their local mortgage brokers. If it had been you, you’d be singing a different tune.

Appreciate the adversity? Wow, thanks for the platitude. There is adversity in the best economy. What people are facing right now is not adversity, it’s a struggle to survive; in too many cases literally. It’s always nice to hear a sermon from someone so sage and august as yourself; so filled with inspirational gibberish like appreciating the adversity. What’s next, some story about a life lesson learned when you were a boy and some nice janitor took you aside and taught you what was really important in life. Just what everyone needs right now, some inspiration delivered from on high. Please go on.

  • ElMystico

    >>>What about the little guy that worked his way up through all adversities and obtained the American Dream. Do you realize how much he now appreciatesthe adversity? Would you like to remove it all?Did someone grab you and shake you like an etch-a-sketch before you wrote that? Or maybe you just spontaneously leak meaningless aphorisms? Little Guy! American Dream! Adversity! Rooty Tooty Freedom Liberty! Jeez.

  • steve

This really encapsulates the Republican attitudes that got the country into the mess it’s in. If people lose their houses, if they lose their jobs and can’t get health insurance, if they can’t feed or shelter their families, it’s because they’re stupid losers and they don’t deserve those things.I really wish these Masters of the Universe would follow through on their threats of revolt. Why don’t they all withdraw to some faraway mountain stronghold, like in Atlas Shrugged? We’d be free of their asshole dickishness, and they could sip their sherry in blissful solitude … until somebody clogs up a toilet and they realize they don’t know what to do about it.

  • Sierradrinker

Moronous, eh, I mean Enormonous, what do the little guy, the size of the commodities markets, or adversity and the American Dream have to do with this post or any of the previous comments? This is a spazzy white guy freaking out because Obama wants to spend 10% of the amount spent to bail out banks that made poor investment decisions on homeowners that may have a) made a poor investment decision in buying a house they couldn’t afford, b) lost their job due a poor ecnonomy which was helped along by banks making poor investment decisions, or c) are facing foreclosure due to [insert favorite sob, but very real, story] here?Where’s the fantasy and what did we fail to see coming? Please, enlighten us all. (I don’t really want you to enlighten us. I just want you to provide additional fuel for posters to mock you).

Now, to speak toward the Santelli issue…What…a…dumb…assI’ve got 3:1 that says he’s dead in two weeks.Seriously, it’s that volatile in our nation RIGHT NOW.

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

What about the little guy that worked his way up through all adversities and obtained the American Dream. Do you realize how much he now appreciatesthe adversity? Would you like to remove it all?

That’s precisely the point. This is helping the little guy who’s working his way up. PPP is exactly on point. Read this and then get back to us.

  • Mike

Yes, ceu, I was being facetious. I thought the burning house metaphor was commonly accepted one.

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

Sorry, Mike. I missed the snark over the rage of watching that douchebag Santelli. And now it’s become a story in and of itself and being replayed over and over again on MSNBC! Unfuckingbelievable! AND he keeps being interviewed!

  • AdyLeigh

So, this guy’s all over MSNBC, eh? He gets to be on tee vee b/c he went all spastic and insane-like and lost his shit? I’ve done that too, but it’s never gotten me on the news-not one time.I’m glad I haven’t been watching the news today.

  • bjritz

Everything that Santelli would trade as a floor trader ultimately must be delivered as actual usable commodity. Corn, wheat, oil or whatever is consumed by all of us or he wouldn’t have a market to trade in or an income from it.All of us “losers” struggling to make house payments on time consume the things he trades. We support him. We feed him. He takes his differential from the buy and sale price on the contracts he trades, but we make the market in which he works. When we have more money each month to buy what he trades his market volume will increase and he will stay in business.Maybe he should move to Haiti and start a new commodity exchange where all the money has rolled up to the top and 98% of the people are “losers” and see if he can create a market like the one he works in everyday. Thanks, Bob, for posting this spazzy drama queen for us to see.

  • SillyGit

I bet that Rick Santelli lives in Darien CT or one of the towns it borders. Any takers? His wife drives a Ford Expedition in the lift lane of the Merritt Parkway while talking on a cell phone. I’ve known far too many of this kind of people.BTW, in CT Darien is pronounced like Dairyanne.

  • Dan in DE

    Trollin’ trollin’ trollin’..

[blockquote]Spazzy WHITE guy? Bob’s a reacist.[/blockquote]Note the number of black or Latino people (or women, for that matter) on the floor.

  • Kyle W.

Wow, I really screwed that up. Had bbcode on the brain.

  • enormonously

ok then. White man rules. Got a problem?

  • Sierradrinker

Can someone please translate this:”Spazzy WHITE guy? Bob’s a reacist.Let me clue you in to the definition of Gorilla, and/or monkey on your back, SHOT yesterday….it’s the GOVERNMENT.”Bob, you are apparently a reacist. In order to avoid offending Spazzy White Guys, please use the term “spazzy upper class caucasian american douche bags” in the future. (I mean no offense to the makers of Masengil or Summer’s Eve for comparing this doucge bag to your product).

  • gypsy

    >>>ok then. White man rules. Got a problem?if white men still rule why are the republicans desperately seeking color and vaginas?! it is painfully clear that to them any color and any vagina will do so one has to conclude a white penis isn’t the gold standard in a modern world.to whom it may concern. i luhs me some liberal white men. your penises can still play in my game…

  • bibimimi

That had a REAL Morton Downey, Jr. ‘string ‘em up by their balls’ vibe, d’in’it?simplistic a-hole.

  • bibimimi

“desperately seeking color and vaginas”*snort*want ads R-US!

  • Bridget

Actually, Santelli didn’t want to recapitalize the banks or buy their toxic assets either…he wanted more pain…

  • J M Ashby

Yeah… how dare the president help citizens in need…fuckhead

  • Steve

Hey Douche – He was in Chicago, NOT “Lower Manhattan”… And, as much as toolbags like you hate it, America agrees!By the way, will you be updating your Fear-mongering book to include a chapter about this administration? Or is Obama’s pathetic whining about “crisis” something else?

  • Steve
  • http://lesterblog.blogspot.com Jon Lester

Yes, Santelli is in Chicago, and is the only person I know who can consistently feign excitement for the bond markets on a daily basis. I think by “losers” he really was talking about those folks who are better off renting, many of whom are in fact white, although if that’s what he means, he’s completely dispensing with the factor of predatory and otherwise questionable lenders.Having offered that much in his defense, I don’t know what he’s really proposing. Obviously if we “all” stop paying our mortgages the immediate consequence would be a new magnitude of disastrous and might even convert more people to communism in the long run.If the current market participants don’t like what’s being done, they can always make room for others. Lots of oil speculators are doing something else for work these days.

  • Sierradrinker

Thank you Steve for speaking for America. We all appreciate you letting us know how America feels.I guess you don’t feel the current economic situation is really a “crisis.”From Bush’s address to the G-7: http://blogs.wsj.com/washwire/2008/10/11/bush-statement-on-financial-crisis/“I appreciate the spirit and common purpose that these leaders have brought to Washington. We recognize that the turmoil in the financial markets is affecting all our citizens. Citizens are rightly concerned about the crisis. And we understand that in dealing with the financial crisis, we’re really helping people be able to have a better future themselves.”And didn’t John McCain suspend his campaign because of the economic “crisis?” What should we call it Steve?600,000 American lost their jobs last month. Should we call this a little hiccup in the economy?Speaking of whining about a “crisis,” I could have sworn it was Bush, Cheney, and Rummy whining about some WMD crisis in Iraq about 6 years ago. Just curious, what ever became of that “crisis?”Oh yeah, back to “America agrees.” I suppose you’re right. Oh wait, no, you’re actually wrong about this. Obama’s approval rating is at 60% right now. Last I checked that’s about double Dubbya’s.Here’s a couple links for you to check out along with a quick summary.Congressional Democrat approval has averaged about 55% the last two weeks. Republicans: 40%.So if 60% of Americans approve of the President, 55% approve of Congressional Democrats, and 55% disapprove of Congressional Replublican, please enlighten us all as to how America agrees.
