The Google Went Crazy

An apparent system error left millions of visitors to the site puzzled when links to all search results were flagged with the warning ‘This site may harm your computer’.

It is thought the site had erroneously identified all other websites – and some of its own pages – as containing malicious software or ‘malware’.

I noticed this yesterday. I was looking up the Teddy Roosevelt quote “malefactors of great wealth” and that warning kept coming up with every search result, but I thought it had to do with confusion over the “mal” in “malefactor” — perhaps the Google machine thought I was looking for “malware.”

I got that a month or so ago on the Wizkids.com site, a gaming site for a company owned by Hasbro. Not very likely to be harmful, so I went there anyway and my computer hasn’t blown up yet (fingers crossed).

YIKES! An ad offering a free copy on Ann Coulter’s book “Guilty” with a subscription to Townhall Magazine.

My eyes! MY EYES! It burns!!!

I guess The Google was right. Bob’s site has been infected with malware. Now if it were Michelle MALkin, I’d be really freaked out!

It’s a sign of the Googocalypse… The day the Mayan calendar runs out in 2012, and all links will lead to this page.

Google did indeed go ga-ga last night, a dry run for the shut down of all web searches ultimately forcing us all to go back to the musty periodicals room of our local underfunded overwhelmed library.the horror, the horror…
