I agree, not crazy about 2010 but we do need to be realistic and remember, Obama would never have taken us into Iraq. He’s just trying to clean up the messes left behind by Bush.
Jeff
First he expands SCHIP, then he creates jobs by investing in infrastructure, then he invests in health care reform and cuts taxes for 95% of Americans and raises them for the wealthiest, now he declares he’s ending the war in 2010. All in barely a month. Why is he following through on all his campaign promises?

Thank you for sharing the speech, Bob. It was indeed, brilliant, and the drawdown plan is well thought out…Can I say again, “I love my president”?QT

I love this man! He has a plan to get our troops home. It’s not as soon as any of us would like, but it’s a plan; he has to work with what he has. LOVE HIM! The speech was great, thanks for posting, Bob!

Obama declared peace in the Culture Wars in his inaugural. Now he’s declaring peace in Iraq, pursuing peace in Israel and Palestine, and talking about peace with Iran.In the next year, expect the following wingnut meme to emerge: that Obama’s peacemaking is dangerous, will leave America unable to defend itself, and invite attack. Lurking within this meme will be an identification of the antichrist as a peacemaker and references to Hitler and “peace in our time.”Count on it.

Matt,Yes, Hilter was a fascist peacemaker socialist just like President Obama. Hilter paid his military well and grew the military to dominate the world by force for peace and socialization of healthcare. Hilter could give a good speech and look you in the eye. Let us not forget that Doomsday Prophecy of 2012.OK, that was hard to write. I think I hurt my brain muscle.

Matt – I’m so sorry to say I think you’re right. For all the Obama supporters here, just remember this famous quote from the bible.. (yes, Joe, I’m looking at you): http://www.biblegateway.com/passage/?search=Matthew%205:9Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called sons of God.@lurkette – I didn’t see anything at my yahoo account… can you send again?tiyenuri-wow@yahoo.comQT

Thank you for the post, Bob. I was not able to watch his speech this afternoon. Sometimes I think I need pinched…that all this is a dream and I’m going to wake up to the past 8 years. I am so very proud to be an American and so proud of President Obama. To listen to our President speak the truth, intelligently and articulately. He has worked so hard in such a short amount of time. I pray God keeps his safe. Again…I am so very, very proud.

Drawing down our troops in Iraq is a great thing. Taking the drawdown and shipping them to Afghanistan is not what I call a net gain. If we can’t get some serious, and I mean serious cooperation from the countries closest to that fiasco then we need to get the hell out.We can’t keep doing this. Bring em’ home and lets clean up our messes here.
