The Rick Santelli Nexus

This is a fascinating investigation by Mark Ames and Yasha Levine into the “spontaneousness” of Rick Santelli’s Star Wars Kid moment. It turns out that Santelli’s contract apparently runs out in a couple of months, and suddenly there are websites and Facebook pages popping up all over the place using the exact same formatting and pumping up this fraud as an American hero.

    Megabucks of propaganda to convince the rubes to protest against their own best interests. Also note the apparent very large astroturfing budget. Maybe some of those comments on Joe Scarborough’s HuffPost article were from well paid shills. It’s all part of the same propaganda mill.In other words, same old, same old.

    the point of that piece isn’t santelli and his contract; the larger network behind santelli and his silly rant is actually kind of a big deal. it’s definitely something deserving of more attention than the 2 comments garnered by the pretty general blurb in this post. yeah it’s a saturday, but i hope you eventually write more about this.

The folks that wrote that article dug up solid evidence of a propaganda conspiracy. The rich want to keep sucking us dry forever. That’s an important article.=======================Most of the regulars here have already commented on this topic in other threads and I think that most of us are tired of talking about Santelli since he is just a tool. I am now talking about Koch instead. When the next Santelli (there will be another and I expect a series of tools) shows up we’ll be ready.
