The Cost of a Republican Vote

If the centrist cuts to the recovery bill equal the elimination of upwards of 2.5 million new jobs (in 2009), and if the centrist cuts managed to attain three Senate Republican votes for the recovery bill, that means…

One Republican vote equals 833,333 fewer jobs created (this year alone).

Those three Republicans, along with the centrists responsible for the cuts, should have to go around and explain why those 2.5 million Americans don’t need jobs.

Tell your congressmembers that if they have to cut “bad” programs, the savings should be added to the “good” programs. More spending equals more jobs equals more growth.

Bob,To put this in terms Republicans like Senator Rick Thune can understand:If you took all the people who lost their jobs in America in the last 13 months and stood them on each other’s shoulders, they would be more than 3,400 miles high. That’s even higher than the $100 bill stack he was talking about!Lying down, head to toe, thos esame people would stretch across the entire United States, with a fair number of people left over.Perhaps this important information will help bluedogs and centrists understand the enormity of this problem.

Packy,LOL.Oh wow. You just solved the job crisis for about 10-14 days. The unemployed people from each state (that would include me-down here in Lindsey “Fucking” Graham land) should be paid by their respective states to “demonstrate” this just like you suggest so that the dumbshit Republicans and others can better understand the magnitude of the crisis. They love visual aids almost as much as they love bright, shiny objects. Actually, each person should hold a bright, shiny object while making this human chain.

Holy shit, Repubs need to be told this nao. Just don’t explain the details of the math and they’ll join in droves. Those repubs never balk at a chance to destroy American jobs.

If it’s actually true, the most objectionable cut I’ve seen so far is the $40 Billion to help stabilize state budgets!I mean look at what California is doing! Imagine if every state worker in all 50 states were to experience a 10% pay cut (that is essentially what it amounts to), what would the impact be on spending?Less spending = lower retail income = more layoffs, or even retail store closures!I almost hope that Obama looks at this butchered POS and vetoes the damn thing and makes them start all over!

  • Packy

AdyLeigh: Good point.Bright, shiny objects will sweeten the deal.

  • Booogie-Mann

You guys are so stooopid. Why are you bitching about the Republicans when DemocRATs can pass this bill entirely on their own?? Not a single GOP vote is needed !!Just goes to show how angry you guys are.

  • ceu

it’s because we’re not assholes willing to cram our agenda down the opposition’s throats without them having some input.how that shows that we’re angry escapes me…

  • veralynn

    very nicely said Smart Chris

Not only are they angry, they don’t seem to know how to gather accurate data and interpret that data, they rely on information from biased sources, and fail to understand the root cause of a problem. So, it is much easier for them to just throw money at a problem without a care about who will pay for this. Oh wait, Obama says spread the wealth.

Repubes are Repubes. What they are doing is to be expected. I am really disappointed in the Dems and the chicken shit way they are caving in and creating a half assed, but expensive piece of congressional offal.

Pertinent Will Rogers”There are two things you never want to see being made: Sausage and Legislation.”"The only time we are truly safe is when congress is in recess.”NOTICEVoodoo economics is an evil piece of propaganda dreamed up by some lawyers in Chicago as a way to concentrate all wealth in the hands of the already wealthy.Seeing as how it does actually do this very well, it is deemed a success. If you are in the bottom 99% of wealth then it is an unmitigated disaster. When they tell you that supply side works, remember that it works for them. They think that heavily fucking over everyone else is a lovely side effect. These clowns insist that giving tax cuts to corporations is the only way to create jobs. They forget that corporations do not create jobs in the U.S. any more, they hire overseas. These clowns may even realize this and so what they are saying to the unemployed is FUCK YOU.So in return FUCK YOU and the VOODOO ECONOMICS you rode in on.
