Chris Matthews on President Obama tonight:

Lawrence, why does he need a teleprompter to do a good speech? I’m dead serious. He’s no good on give and take, he’s just average. He’s no good on the stump. He’s only good when he’s got that teleprompter up there giving the grand oratory. It seems like that’s what works for him and nothing else does.

Yep, this from a professional broadcaster who, for the better part of two years, continuously confused the names “Barack Obama” and “Osama Bin Laden” and still has no problem collecting his $5 million annual salary. This after eight years of “peeance freeance” and “putting food on your family.”

    OMG! Throw him in prison NOW! So, it’s unacceptable if Chris Matthews only slurps on Obama 4 days a week instead of 5?I mean, I think it’s safe to say Chris Matthews likes Barack Obama quite a bit…

    As I said on the PTT, I suppose Matthews was trying to prove he’s not in the tank for Obama by going the FOX/Limbaugh/Glenn Beck route after being called a liberal by the right wing one too many times.

    That’s why I said earlier I wish I had his phone number so I could call him and ask him why the hell he is giving Lindsey Graham face time, and Dick Armey and all the other damn rethugs… and he has been as bad if not worse than morning joke at spewing the vile lies about pork in the recovery bill. Talking about the contraceptives and condoms and everything else. He has just gone on and on about it for a week.. I have almost quit listening to him.

    I really wonder if Chris Matthews has some cognitive problems. I don’t know how anyone whose mind is operating effectively could switch around like he does.I wish there were people who are intelligent and informed hosting more programmming. TV should be a good source of information,but it is not.

    For the past two weeks, Matthews has been asking every guest in earshot what the stimulus package is all about, ’cause he just doesn’t understand. Well read the g.d. thing! And nearly every night he brings up “condoms”, when it was family planning and removed from the bill before it left the House. I know he has a small audience, and I know he’s actually a huge Obama supporter, but with friends like these…who needs FOX?

    Since when is the presidency a Toastmasters clinic? I don’t want my President spending hours a day memorizing speeches. I just want him to communicate – which he’s doing better than any President we’ve had in years.This is as stupid as comparing Air Force One to a private jet.
