Just outstanding:

ABC News has learned that on Monday morning President Obama will hold an event at the White House in which he signs an executive order overturning the ban on federal funding of embryonic stem cell research.

I wonder. If this research does, in fact, result in a cure for Alzheimer’s, Parkison’s and other neurological diseases and injuries, will far-right victims elect to not be helped?

What he said: We are going to fund some forms of stem cell research. What they heard: I am going to start killing babies.

  • Lee Stranahan

This is HORRIBLE.If Obama signs this, someone explain to me how in the hell Octomom will have more babies?!?

  • http://cousinavi.wordpress.com cousinavi

Relax, Lee.Octomom already has a gross (that’s twelve dozen…and that’s gross) fertilized little fully human ovum frozen and awaiting implantation. But with all this media scrutiny, we’re looking for some surrogate wombs to bring the little darlings to their birthday. We wouldn’t want the paparazzi to notice that telling little bump that develops when one is gestating twenty or thirty tiny people with absolute rights to life.Or, you know…we could just grind them into a milkshake for Michael J. Fox.

Maybe someday they’ll find a cure for Republicanism.

“…will far-right victims elect to not be helped?”They’ll just say Reagan did it. Revisionism thy name is Wingnut.

You Fark Avi?What was said: “Obama to reverse some limits on federal funding of stem cell research.” What you will hear: “Obama has decreed that baby killing is legal”http://www.fark.com/cgi/comments.pl?IDLink=4253292

“If this research does, in fact, result in a cure for Alzheimer’s, Parkison’s and other neurological diseases and injuries, will far-right victims elect to not be helped?”Being republicans, they’ll find a way to deny what they’re doing while doing it.

Of course they won’t refuse treatment. Just like abortion and porn and everything else they find objectionable, they will lie about it. They will get treatment from fancy hush hush clinics so that the peasants don’t know they are hypocrites.

The answer here is such a nobrainer its damn near rhetorical. This is just like people who go to church every week pretending to be perfect and staunchly conservative. Then they go to the next town over to drink alchohol so no one from their church will see them doing it.Obviously they wont refuse treatment. What they’ll do is go on TV and claim it to be against nature and then rush right off for their 2 o’clock apointment to get treated.

Surfing the channels the other night and saw a movie starring Jennifer Biels the premise of which was she was pregnant and had had a test that showed her baby would be born gay.I didn’t watch it as it was late and past bedtime. However, I couldn’t help wondering what would happen if a prenatal test ever became available which could determine a fetus’ sexual preference. What a dilemma for the pro-lifers!

St. Ron might have been helped by stem cell research since he died of Alzhiemers! And the Octomom said in an interview there are no more fetuses. That’s why she had eight, she didn’t want to waste any.

There’s a joke we tell done here in ‘Bama:q: If you take a Baptist fishing, how do you keep him from drinking all your beer?a: Take two Baptists fishing. The Catholics don’t recognize protestants. The protestants don’t recognize the Vatican. Baptists don’t recognize each other at the liquor store. This will hold true for stem-cell cures. I fully expect people I know to take month-long “vacations” and claim they were cured by their fellow church-goers laying on hands.

I have MS.I really would have appreciated those last 8 years of lost progress. As it is, I live in peace, unhampered by ‘human animal hybrid’ panhandlers stationed outside my door.

    Oh, yeah. Cannibis works, too!

The use of religion to halt scientific progress is killing real living adults like my wife who died of cancer. The research must resume and those of us who have friends and families die see the reality of this reactionary group of religious zealots. Throughout history this has happened as church leaders killed and tortured and waged wars on the misguided belief that God told them to do it. In fact it is the men and women of these churches and not any god that is causing this problem. Some church leader whether it be the Pope or a Muslim Cleric manipulates the innocent congregation to take up arms against something or someone. The congregation blindly wages war, attacks scientists and doctors and stops the flow of healing medicine to the sick and dying. Christians and Muslims and members of the Jewish faith are blinded by the words of men put forth as words of their god, and do harm. Some bomb tall buildings and some stopped research that could have saved my wife. As long as they cause the death of women like my wife and the millions of children dying of childhood cancers and other diseases, I will stand up for life and science and point out who is really doing the killing.
