Dear Bob:I am concerned. You seem to be asking the media to present accurate information. I’m not sure what has brought you so low, but the desperation, frustration, and “Great gollywogs you’re losing it, son” inherent in such a demand is obvious.I believe the best advice can be found in classic children’s stories – fairy tales…especially the original European versions (not the cleaned up American ones)…in which the good and kind are commonly abandoned in the forest, fed poisoned apples, imprisoned in towers and left to the devices of a frustrated troll, or forced to seek shelter with relatives else the wolf huff and puff and chomp up their bacon.The thing about all those stories is perseverance. Only in rare cases does help come, and the evil bastards never change their ways. It is only by remaining calm and sticking it out to the end that you have any hope of emerging from this long, dark tunnel with anything remotely like your sanity intact (although, for that, it may already be too late).In any case, pleading with Rumplestilskin, or Wolf Blitzer (you didn’t think that huffing and puffing was a coincidence, did you?), is not gonna get you anywhere.Grab your little red cape, a bag of bread crumbs and try to hang in there. Oh…and while you’re out in the forest, keep your eyes open for the mushroom patch. Find that, and you will at least get to spend a few hours at the gingerbread house.

That seems fair? I said September of 2007. September 2008 is a bit better even though it’s hiding the 14000 DJIA peak during Bush’s term, but January 2009 is completely useless.

With the socialist ideals of the current congress and administration, the DOW will see 1800. Mark it. Second, take a look at the DOW since the democrats took control of congress. Down, Down, Down. Remember the President can not spend one penny without the congress approving it. We should stop thinking the President can fix it and look at congress. There is no hope.

I think the main points about this are:Obviously the stock market slide started before Obama took office. But the investors were looking to the new administration to offer their plans to help fix the mess. When they didn’t see anything they liked, the market started to decline at an increased rate since Obama took office.The market thinks little of the “stimulus plan”, as can be seen by the slide in the dow. To date, there has been very little that has come from Geitner, nor the White House, so the investors are “shorting” (not investing) in the market. Everyone is looking, waiting, hoping for something that will address the core problems. So far not much. This administration needs to come up with something, or the slide will continue. Millions of average Americans are suffering because of this; it will hurt everybody poor and rich and middle class alike.
