Finishing Palin’s Thought

Palin today:

“I hope President Obama’s comments do not reflect how he truly feels about the special-needs community…”

…Now back to me refusing funds for special-needs education and short-changing Special Olympics Alaska, also.

Bob, position flexible means never having to say you’re sorry.

  • Pkpost

Yeah, she’s got some nerve to refuse tax-payer money when her state is among the wealthiest in the nation!

  • cruz

Well, we already know how Palin feels:F**K the Handicapped!

  • http://cousinavi.wordpress.com cousinavi

Can’t believe I’m about to say this…but here goes…Sarah Palin, she who called Obama a terrorist lo those few months ago; she who is the mother of a special needs child; she who, one supposes, is positioning herself for a run at the oval office (as laughable as that notion may be); she who had the PERFECT perch from which to launch a poison-tipped heart dart (one wonders what restrained her Trig-ger finger) [I embarrass myself regularly]……and yet, by any measure, this must be seen as utterly forgiving, conciliatory, generous. On this step alone, Sarah Palin grew three sizes this day./IMO

    >>>…and yet, by any measure, this must be seen as utterly forgiving, conciliatory, generous.Maybe I’m missing a joke here, but… are you serious? She’s implying that there’s a chance the president has disdain for special-needs people.

  • http://cousinavi.wordpress.com cousinavi

Nope. No joke, BC. Serious. As the moose-shootin’ gosh darn mama of an extra chromosomer, supposedly lining up for a challenge, you have to admit the “Special Olympics” gaffe (and ugly gaffe it was) was perfectly well suited for a very pointed response. The quote out of Alaska, regardless of the stimulus funds and their direction, was not only mild…it was a gimme. A total pass.Go ahead…make a Rain Man joke around a Mom whose kid has mild Asperger’s…see what happens to you.And yet, despite opportunity and happenstance lining up in some freakish full eclipse of circumstance and momentary lapse of judgment, Palin’s comment is by any measure soft. This thing could well have been played, especially by Trig’s mom, much like Limbaugh’s mocking of Michael J. Fox. Not saying they’re equivalent…just that it could have been shuffled and dealt that way. And it wasn’t.I merely suggest that, on that narrow point alone, Palin surpassed anything I had come to expect from Palin.

And apropos of nothing at all, I highly recommend you all go download and pay close attention to Dave Grisman – Dawg Jazz. Here’s a taste:This ain’t what I’m talking about but it’s still awesome

Hi Bob,What makes your blog unique is that you have an open forum. Yes, I would block offensive posts however it does not need to be permanent. More importantly is that it incites a vigorous discussion of the issues.TS…King of Tomatoes

“You must be one of the cool white guys Bob. Hey, you voted for Obama, you LIKE Jazz, you sat next to a black person on the bus in middle school. You are down wit it!!!”But the truth is , Douche Bag, these spazzy white guys make the world tick. Yea, yea yea. They’re all eveil and we meet in caves at 4 am to cook up the next virus that we’ll inject into minorities and Gerbil killers….”Next time you turn on the light, your computer, or fly in a jet you can thank a spazzy white guy.Need antibiotis for that spew emananating from you 1/2 inch penis? Thank a SWG. That car you bought with the trust fund that Grandpa Cesca left you, the one where he made his money selling coal (which is cool because as long as its your blood money), you can thank a SWG.”Posted by: TruthSerum at March 5, 2009 11:09 AMVigorous discussion of issues, indeed.

  • TruthSerum

    All true Jane…do you disagree?

  • TruthSerum

Bob, the head of Gestapo propaganda, edits posts, deliberately pacing mispelled words and grammatical errors. How pathetic is that?

  • jane

    >>Bob, the head of Gestapo propaganda, edits posts, deliberately pacing mispelled words and grammatical errors. How pathetic is that?Heh.

  • jane

Adding: “mispelled ” is misspelled above. But I’m sure that’s Bob’s fault.

  • jane

Ooooh, I see, Bob paces the misspellings, not places them. He just spreads the out. Got it.

  • jane

Goddamnit, Bob! (shakes fist) You took away that “m”!

  • http://cousinavi.wordpress.com cousinavi

@ Truth SerumIf you have something to say, say it.Save the paranoid invented fantasy for some other place.Don’t make me notify the watchers. You know they will only track you down and take one of your eyes, like last time.

  • jane

Avi, have you been up all night? You’ll need a nap. Careful on the scooter.

  • SillyRatfacedGit

I have to agree with cousinavi again. Ms. Palin’s response was much milder than I was expecting. It was, in fact, a pass. Is she actually learning that some things should just be allowed to slide on by? Save the hysterics for a more strategic moment? This appears to be the first real sign of intelligence I’ve seen from her.

  • shaddomagg

I hope everyone, including you, Bob, takes the time to email her to tell her how flippin hypocritical she is! I’m gonna! You betcha. No kidding!

  • shaddomagg

Well, I stand corrupted! (ha ha). I just went on Sarah’s official website, clicked on the “contact us” thingy, and couldn’t see an email contact. Guess I have to take out my old writing stick and do it that way. Unless someone here could point me in the right direction…

  • AdyLeigh

Hmmm…that was a relatively calm response from Gov. Palin, but it was still a dumb thing to say.President Obama was REALLY stupid to say it, and Palin was dumb to comment on it no matter who or how or when she was asked about it.Palin’s record sucks when it comes to the special needs community. The fact that she has a Down’s baby herself is completely irrelevant to me.

  • AdyLeigh

I mean, Dick Cheney has a daughter who is a lesbian, but he sure as hell does NOT support gay rights, does he? Of course not, so how is Palin any different?

  • Jeff

“make a Rain Man joke around a Mom whose kid has mild Asperger’s…see what happens to you.”What would happen? My son has autism. I thought absolutely nothing of what Obama said. It’s the kind of thing that doesn’t sound bad until it’s actually said and we can all agree it was in poor taste but most of us make jokes like that or laugh about it at some point.Palin is such a freakin phony. She’s using her status as a parent of a special needs child to make an attack on Obama for political purposes. She knows Obama didn’t mean anything by it and yet she comes out with “I hope he doesn’t really hate them”(paraphrased). She disgusts me. She is 100% fake. Her kid is less than a year old. She is just now getting to understand the special needs community herself. She’s the one cutting funds for special ed. God I hate this woman.

  • Jeff

Funny enough, I’m pretty sure Cheney does support gay rights. His one saving grace, of course it’s totally selfish because it’s HIS daughter. If it was someone else’s daughter, I’m sure he’d say “Go fuck yourself”

  • http://cousinavi.wordpress.com cousinavi

@ AdyLeighThe fact that she has a extra-23rd chromosome squab is precisely what made her her such a pointed and lethal opportunity. She totally let it slide. It’s boggling.Like if BHO had made some “Bowling? Easier than being a prisoner of war in Hanoi!” remark. You hear it and think, oh oh…you’re doom fucked now!And then McCain comes out and says, “Well…I hope that’s not what President Obama really thinks about bowling.”Frankly, on the face of it, I’m a little frightened. It undermines many of my core assumptions. Something just ain’t fuckin’ right here.

  • http://cousinavi.wordpress.com cousinavi

@ JeffPalin is such a freakin phony. She’s using her status as a parent of a special needs child to make an attack on Obama for political purposes. No, she isn’t.She absolutely DIDN’T drive the stake home.Obama lay down, spread-eagle, ripped open his shirt to reveal the “Insert stake here” tattoo…and Palin tossed him a twinkie. Oh, no, Mr. President…please button your shirt. They’re up to something. A passed opportunity to inflict this stabby, stab, gutting?Oh, they’re up to something.

  • Lexaburn

Oh, so this DoofSerum is the one that was misconstruing our collective quality of life in order to defend the CNBC’s fluffing of the wanna-be elitist assholes on Wall St., eh?Duly noted.

  • GItheJOE

truth,Stop being an asshole! Jane is the queen of assholes and you can’t beat her. Trust me, I have tried! She won and I have the scares to prove it.

  • dswagz

Hypocrisy is the cornerstone of republican politics.Look it up if you don’t believe me.

  • Likala

Keith Olbermann quoted her on his show and according to him she said a hell of a lot more than is quoted above and if you think she’s through then you have totally given her far too much credit. My gawd, he said a dumb thing in making fun of himself for crying out loud. He apologized immediately and it wasn’t one of those non-apology apologies. It’s been well over 24 hours. Can we move on now?The wingnuts don’t need our help in villifying him for every less than perfect utterance that comes out of his mouth. Hell, they villify him for speaking perfectly.I’m just so sick of all this politically correct nonsense!

  • ceu

Yeah, she’s got some nerve to refuse tax-payer money when her state is among the wealthiest in the nation!Posted by: Pkpost at March 20, 2009 8:27 PMYeah, I’m sure that the folks in rural Alaska who have had to choose between food and heat this past winter appreciate her support – and callous comments such as yours.

  • Jeff

cousinavi, maybe you aren’t aware of her full statement…..using words like ‘shocked’ and ‘degrading’. Palin may have a baby with special needs(who she neglected to run her narcissistic campaign) but the governor of California has worked with Special Olympians for decades and excused Obama, as do I, being in a similar situation as Palin. She’s totally and completely 100% full of SHIT:“I was shocked to learn of the comment made by President Obama about Special Olympics,” Palin said in a statement. “This was a degrading remark about our world’s most precious and unique people, coming from the most powerful position in the world.”She added:“These athletes overcome more challenges, discrimination and adversity than most of us ever will. By the way, these athletes can outperform many of us and we should be proud of them. I hope President Obama’s comments do not reflect how he truly feels about the special needs community.”

  • http://cousinavi.wordpress.com cousinavi

@ JeffI don’t care what Sarah Palin says, man…I can outrun any of them ‘tards.I still give it a half-pass.

  • think

It’s simple:PALIN is a f**ktard. Can’t wait to see her bowl in the Special Olympics!

  • mattpddm03

Palin says “I hope President Obama’s comments do not reflect how he truly feels about the special-needs community…”Someone should say “I hope Governor Palins ACTIONS do not reflect how she truly feels about the special-needs community…”She could not hit as hard as she wanted… she’d be confronted with the facts.

  • http://www.politicalpartypooper.wordpress.com politicalpartypooper

Personally, I don’t get what the big deal is. Sure, Obama said something that a few people thought was insensitive. So what ?This “Ah-HAAAAAA!” culture we live in can be ridiculous at times. People’s entire careers can be ruined because they said one thing that was construed as racist or insensitive. Does no one else find this to be almost COMPLETELY fucked up?

  • Jeff

completely fucked up, i agree. unfortunately that’s what sells. that’s what the media gives us. cnn was on this “gaffe” all day long. kinda like George Allen saying macaca. That alone doesn’t make him a racist. He might be one and obviously he was insensitive, but that actually ruined his career and gave democrats a majority in the senate. don imus too, michael richards.one moment caught on tape doesn’t define a person’s whole character but we like to pretend it does.

  • bibimimi

The whole friggin’ Palin household is a “special-needs community”…some are just more legitimate than others.

  • rogect8

“How he truly feels about the special needs community?”Well…since the special needs community does indeed suck at sports, I’m guessing that his comments do indeed reflect how he feels about them. You know…as far as sports are concerned.
