The classic Star Blazers opening title sequence.

I so badly want to reboot this series.

Jesus BOB, Cycling, MST3K, Fanatical devotion to progressiveness and now Star Blazers We must be related.

I remember getting home from school just to watch that show. I keep wanting to buy it at Amazon.

Damn right this series needs a reboot. IMHO it’s the Battlestar of animation.

    I loved that show!

You just sucker punched me so badly with this. You’re right — time to bring this bit of my childhood back.

Does anyone think that Scarborough might have actually made the first factual point of his life when he said that Obama probably shouldn’t be going on Leno’s show tonight during this economic disaster?

MG: Not me.It’s the same Obama-is-doing-too-much BS we’ve been hearing for weeks now.

It is Obama’s primary job to restore confidence. It is not clear how he can do that by hiding in the White House or at a ranch in Texas. It appears that Doucheborough’s job is to destroy confidence in order to undermine the president and our country.Matt is spot on. (sorry emsique, I’m not trying to torture you.)

Doucheborough is also pissed that Olbermann was on Leno and he wasn’t so Obama’s appearance gives him something to whine about.

  • Francis Zuccarello

This gave me gooseflesh. I loved this show but it should be digitally restored in high definition and rebroadcast, not reimagined. The reincarnation of BSG was the wonderful, inspirational exception, not the rule.

PS: Since Obama’s name has found its way in here too, I can share this: I went to stand in line for Tonight Show tickets (I live about a mile away from NBC in Burbank) and had to come home empty handed. Seems the studio has only 150 seats and 125 of them had already been claimed by VIPs. Had a nice time chatting with kindreds in line, though.

Ah, my favorite “space opera” at the time. And Matt’s right – definitely can be compared to the new BSG. I remember growing up in the D.C. suburbs back in the early 80s and couldn’t wait to get home from school to watch it. It came on right after (or was it right before?) Battle of the Planets if I recall.
