I’m an avid reader of this blog and have even posted a few times when I felt specially brave!Tonight I’m pissed so thought I’d come here to vent and maybe get some feedback.I also frequent a blog called The Mudflats, written by an anonymous blogger who, until today, had remained just that: anonymous. She was exposed by a politician who was upset with some coverage he was getting. And much like SP became obsessed with finding out WHO this blogger was and exposing them. Well, he has done so under the guise of making the public aware of WHO is voicing an opinion. I’ve always felt that the opinion matters more that who gives it, but hey, I could be wrong. I like to hear what others think. Susan -I have been reading mudflats since last August. I check it out every Saturday along with blue diva.Anonymous political speech is a constitutional right. To expose a person engaging in a constitutionally protected right is a highly unamerican act.Rep. Mike Doogan needs to be hounded incessantly. His life must be made miserable. He should be exposed as the unamerican fascist scumbag that he is. He must be removed from office. He should be showered with rotten vegetables and he should be tarred and feathered. He is scum.

Susan,I think that what has happened in this particular instance is awful. BUT, there is a lesson here. You have to be able to see the similarity between the singling out of AIG executives by government, names, addresses, a 90% tax, etc. in the same light. The point of if if the AIG executives were entitled to the money is NOT the point. The point is if you want to give the government this kind of power or not. It’s easy to feel it’s OK in the AIG situation, but the normalizing of it in the AIG situation makes it just that much easier to make the Mudflats situation possible. It is easier (more popular) to see the principle in your example, than in the AIG (most unpopular) situation, but the underlying principle is the same.The author said Rep. Doogan exposed himself. Do you see Rep. Doogan at work in the recent actions of Congress? I do.

Speaking of HuffPo and Doucheborough, I tried to post a snarky comment about Star Jones’ meaningless blog and the two times I did, it disappeared into the non-approved-comment ether. So for fun, I wrote a glowing comment. That got posted immediately. It reminded me of the comments following Doucheborough’s whiny blog, of how glowing and apologetic they were.
