  • cminri

Great Limbaugh impersonation, Bob…more like that please.

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

Hey Bob and Lee, they tried doing it with Obama by using his cursing form his audio book. Ooh, our new Prez has a potty mouth. It lasted about a minute, and I really only saw it on the blogs, not on the news…. if it was on the news it didn’t last very long.

  • dontpanic23

And gone again. Damn.Tell Jane I’ve gone to bed and will catch it tomorrow. I won’t bother to tweet it. I might pee first.

VeraLynn!!!!!! How are you?Oh man, I can tell EXACTLY where in SC/GA Kyle’s from by his accent can’t you? He has a nice accent.

  • http://www.isitbeertime.com/ jane

ok kyle, you’re a southern boy, bona fides etc.Now where do you tweet?

  • veralynn

hey Ady!sounds like a good southern boy :)

  • gypsy

i’m not scared of talking about race!

  • http://annette-justmylittlepieceoftheworld.blogspot.com/ Annette

Yes, but with the Joke it lasts about 5 minutes and then he starts all over again. He will be spouting his same tired old nonsense about Fannie and Freddie all over again.

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

Lee, Rush and Racism – if it walks like a duck and it talks like a duck and it quacks like a duck…

  • http://annette-justmylittlepieceoftheworld.blogspot.com/ Annette

Hey Ady… how are you feeling tonight??

  • http://www.isitbeertime.com/ jane

Paddy, you on hold??? Hope so

  • http://www.thenewwearsoff.com/ Kyle W.

Oy, is my accent that bad?Lee: I don’t care if Limbaugh’s ratings go up, the people tuning in aren’t moderates. The bigger picture is that more moderates will likely be turned off to the GOP.

  • veralynn

you have a great voice Kyle!Ady got a shout out!

  • Heather

Here is EXACTLY what is wrong with the democratic party: even though there are serious issues going on in the country, we are talking abou fuckig rush! So while the republicans are currently getting their shit together on fundamentals, how they stand on policy, etc (even though I am completely aganist it) when it comes down to an election, the dems are left in the dust because for 2 years they were agreeing to disagree about people in the OTHER party and NOT coming to an agreement on our own fundamentals, policy, etc. It’s SO frustrating.

  • gypsy

    kyle you’re SOOOO southern! hehe… it’s cute!

  • dy

Why wouldn’t you want to call out a racist as being a racist? Why??Okay, I just tuned in, so I don’t quite know what Lee’s supposed argument is (not that I ever do anymore … such a disappointment he’s become, urgh, after I rather enjoyed the “30 Days” series).

  • Kat

Does Kyle give good voice? Damn, now I’m gonna need to download the podcast.

  • gypsy

heather…>>>So while the republicans are currently getting their shit together on fundamentals, how they stand on policy, etcthis is so wrong!

  • http://www.thenewwearsoff.com/ Kyle W.

Oh god, the show is so delayed–when I hung up, it picked up from BEFORE I called–listening, shamefully, to myself right now.

  • veralynn

heatherI agree…it is frustrating and one of the reasons we have been in the wild for so long. we do need discipline. that is something I have always respected about the repugs. they may be spouting crap, but they all spout.we need to leave the media to show the country what a dick rush is and that the repugs don’t have the balls to stand up to him

  • cminri

The show keeps cutting out on me. Is that happening to anyone else? Dammit.

  • Terri
  • AdyLeigh

Bob called me a lady and nothing could be further from the truth!! Other than that, he’s correct about everything else.VeraLynn, yes Kyle has a GREAT accent, and I’ve missed you terribly.Annette, sweetie, I am still in s lot of pain and very drugged up. I hate feeling this way, and I go to my regular doctor tomorrow.I GOT a shout out! Woo Whee! I am SO going to prank call these guys very soon…

  • Heather

Gypsy, it is not, just because they are currently following rush right now DO NOT believe that some crack pot is going to cone out of the wood work (or say, Alaska) and mimic what he is fundamentally saying. Mark my words it will happen, and people “on the fence” will think, well it seems that the republicans have had a cinsistant thought for longer than the democrats so…..Wait for it……wait for it……..And them the democrats will be deomonized for bringing up all the morally inconsistant shit on the republicans side even though it’s true. The republicans are in a very unique place to use this to their advantage……

  • veralynn

lol Ady I cannot believe you didn’t call in!been at the hosptal the last few days so I haven’t had access to the tubesdamn they just cut off

  • http://www.thenewwearsoff.com/ Kyle W.

Hush, AdyLeigh, before I blush. Northeast Georgia, to ID the accent, btw.I love the ending of the show: “I think we’re…”I think we’re WHAT?! You gotta tell me, Lee.

  • Heather

Christ, do I need spell check…..

  • AdyLeigh

Bob: “Say my name! Say my name!Hilarious…you won’t even be my friend.

  • http://www.isitbeertime.com/ jane

“I think we’re” gonna get cut off randomly, Kyle.

  • http://annette-justmylittlepieceoftheworld.blogspot.com/ Annette

Ady.. Sorry hon.. was hoping you would be feeling a little better.. just try to take it easy.. hang in there and will be thinking of you tomorrow.. keep me posted.

  • gypsy

heather i have 10 republican douche’s to every 1 sane republican!you think they are “hiding” the smart and distracting us with the crazy?NO…they are feeding the base because they are struggling to maintain even that! they are trying to recruit youth with clubs that have days like kick an illegal and shit! i can’t wait for the circus they in the elections!

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

So while the republicans are currently getting their shit together on fundamentals, how they stand on policyAnd that would be? All they’ve gotten together is to obstruct. They have no plan and it’s been exposed. The reason the Democrats are talking about Rush is to further intertwine him and the GOP. They look like schmucks bowing down to him. What’s wrong with that? The Republicans are in Limbaugh quicksand right now, and the more they struggle to extract themselves, the deeper they sink.

  • AdyLeigh

Kyle, give it up. Where exactly are you from? My ex-husband is from Flowery Branch or Gainsville…both, actually.I know that wonderful accent anywhere. Also: Bob, say my name again!

  • http://www.bobcesca.com Bob Cesca

Show’s over — continuing in the podcast.

  • moda31

What I want to know is when it becomes unacceptable for Republican elected officials to brush off the hateful rhetoric of people like Limbaugh as a just another “valued conservative voice?” That’s their standard response, and the media and everyone else accepts it and moves on (in a way that they never do for anything half as extreme on left). When do they have to publicly answer for accepting hate as an integral part of what their party values? Telling liberals not to put those things front and center, or not to attack those things is part of what allows elected officials to publicly embrace it without consequence. If republicans want to embrace Limbaugh and what he stands for, then there ought to be political consequences for that embrace, they ought to be called out for being the extremists that they are. It’s the ready acceptance of Rush and conservative talking points as something mainstream that drives me nuts; the media eats it up, and most Democrats accept it as well. Democrats spend their lives apologizing for anything to the left of Evan Bayh, yet Republicans never have to justify what is so clearly extreme.

  • http://www.thenewwearsoff.com/ Kyle W.

AdyLeigh: I’ll give it up. I’m from Hartwell, Georgia… which practically makes me a South Carolinian, having gotten my local news from Carol Goldsmith since I can remember, and having spent most of my teenage years raising hell in Anderson.

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

we do need discipline. that is something I have always respected about the repugs. they may be spouting crap, but they all spout.I don’t think voting against something that can help their constituents for the sake of opposing the other party is something of which to be proud. If the Democratic Party marched in lockstep like the GOP, what would be the difference?

  • gypsy

carl, they’re not trying to extract themselves! that’s the problem. they are bowing down with pleasure! and i am doing my part to continue making that crystal clear!

  • Heather

Both spoken like a TRUE Democrat, so Bravo. Listen, this isn’t the FIRST time a Republican has taken the for front and Democrats have thought, “well shit, this is our lucky day! lets wait and see how this pans out” and then BAM! We will LOSE an election and the majority. Our worst enemy is our complacency. We could be thinking: “Hmmm, I don’t want independents to continue to believe we are a party of Spend SPend Spend (for mistakes made by a Republican “president” who’s policy was EXACTLY that) when we could be thinking about actual policy on issues regarding: the war, taxes, education, and health care. I love Obama and am thrilled that he is our President, but what IF his approval ratings fall, what IF his plans don’t pan out. THe Democratic party needs more to stand behind than “Well we still like Obama and Rush is a dick head”

  • Heather

Broadway Carl, stop thinking that the Republicans and Democrats are treated the same. They. Are. Not. Its the same as saying: Two people join the Marine Corps, one is male, one is female, but they both get the same treatment. It is just not a reality. (females generally have a much easier time in the USMC like Republicans if anyone is wondering)

If the Democratic Party marched in lockstep like the GOP, what would be the difference?some crack pot is going to cone out of the wood work (or say, Alaska) and mimic what he is fundamentally saying. Mark my words it will happen, and people “on the fence” will think, well it seems that the republicans have had a cinsistant thought for longer than the democrats so…..I disagree. This is exactly what happened in November. The crazies came out in droves to vote against what they perceived was a black, Muslim, Manchurian candidate, foreign born socialist who palled around with terrorists. There were shouts of “treason” and “terrorist” and “off with his head” from the wingnuts at Sarah Palin rallies. What did that get them? 45 million votes, 160 some odd electoral votes, and major seat losses in Congress. They’re in for the same thing if the strategy remains the same. If the Republican party was serious about changing, they wouldn’t be touting the likes of Jindal and Palin for 2012.

  • Heather

Let us please not forget that it was John McCain who said “the fundamentals of our economy are strong” not Obama. If the economy had not made such a quick turn for the worse, this might be an entirely different conversation…..

  • AdyLeigh

Kyle, HOWDY my neighbor. Carol Goldsmith…ugh, I can’t stand all the lipstick.I used be down your way every other weekend so my son could see his father. We would meet at DAD’s Truckstop or whatever that place is to “make the exchange.”

  • gypsy

ooh shit here we go with the what if’s!news flash we are NOT being complancent. i can not translate my how pissed i was with kerry and gore and how they did let shit happen to the democratic party!and heather i am not only a democrat i am left of left of center left…

  • http://www.thenewwearsoff.com/ Kyle W.

Dad’s II–and the funny thing is I don’t know what happened to Dad’s I. I always go that way to get on I-85 when I’m needed in the Atlanta office so I stop in there pretty often.I hope your son saw the irony in meeting up with his dad there.

  • gypsy

please explain….>>>Let us please not forget that it was John McCain who said “the fundamentals of our economy are strong” not Obama. If the economy had not made such a quick turn for the worse, this might be an entirely different conversation…..

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

Our worst enemy is our complacency… I love Obama and am thrilled that he is our President, but what IF his approval ratings fall, what IF his plans don’t pan out…

Heather, you have to take a step back a breath. You’re falling into the trap that the media and the Republicans want, freaking out just 6 weeks into Obama’s presidency. What makes you think we’re being complacent? If you haven’t noticed, the Republican party is in complete disarray right now. They have no leader. They’re being linked to a hatemonger like Limbaugh and can’t shake it.Approval ratings are going to rise and fall but currently, close to 70% is pretty fucking awesome if you ask me. If his plans don’t pan out, then like he said himself, you’ll have a new president in 2012, but for god’s sake, can we get through the next 3 years and 10½ months first?

  • Heather

gypsy: Then you are comfortable with the Democratic Party standing for: Higher Spending, Higher Taxes, Big-Government, Anti-Military party? Because believe me, that is the message that is getting across. It doesn’t matter what the President has to deal with right now, In 1.5 years, will anyone remember the circumstances now when Republican commercials hit the tube during dancing with the stars stating JUST that? What will our Ad’s say? “Rush is a douche” “W. was a douche” you have to look toward the future to continue to build on the short success this party is having.

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

If the economy had not made such a quick turn for the worse, this might be an entirely different conversation…..

But it did happen so please do yourself a favor and stop thinking in hypotheicals just for a few minutes.

  • Alex

I’m pretty sure the adds will point out the obvious that the Republicans have NOTHING to contribute to basically everything going on right now.

  • Heather

“>>>Let us please not forget that it was John McCain who said “the fundamentals of our economy are strong” not Obama. If the economy had not made such a quick turn for the worse, this might be an entirely different conversation…..” -responding to Broadway Carls post at 10:06 pm**taking a breath**** (and…..release) I get that, and I want the President to succeed. That being said the Democrats have a tenancy to sit back and react instead of being proactive and taking this time of party prosperity to actually find our voice and line out our fundamentals.Remember, right now we are only successful because of the bad policy of Republicans, again reacting.

  • Alex

Heather, how are the Dems NOT being proactive right now? Particularly Obama? I’m pretty sure he just passed a huge stimulus recovery bill and homeowner relief and is working on health care as well as the budget.

  • heather!

Alex, we won’t politically be able to do that. People don’t want to hear about “they did/didn’t do this/that” people want to hear “I will do ____/my record shows that I will have done and will do ___” its marketing fundamentals. Thinking otherwise is just wrong.

  • gypsy

if by higher taxes you mean tax decrease for middle/low class…then yesif by higher spending you mean creating jobs and infrastructure for america….then yesif by big government you mean better access to health care for all….the yesif by anti-military you mean not spending billions on a war for what reason again?!…then my answer is YES!i can’t wait until obama’s policies are giving the time to see the benefits. we don’t need rush talking points! we don’t need palin talking points! we WILL have a successful obama record to show!

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

Heather, are you a troll?Higher spending/Big Government? – yes, to get out of this shithole we were driven into. Are you listening to Hannity?Higher taxes? – they just passed the biggest middle class tax cut in US history! WTF?Anti-military? Sure they are, that’s why soldiers ae getting psay increases, incentives to enlist and we’re getting rid of Pentagon waste like fighter jets that haven’t been used since the Glf War but are still being produced.

  • http://www.isitbeertime.com/ jane

Heather: take a Xanax and maybe STFU?

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

Democrats have a tenancy to sit back and react instead of being proactive and taking this time of party prosperity to actually find our voice and line out our fundamentals.

Can you give me an example of that in the last 6 weeks?

  • gypsy

heather, please get out of 2000 and 2004! how can you say democrats are still complacent after the ’08 election?!

  • Alex

Heather, if you haven’t noticed this isn’t an election year. They don’t need to be campaigning constantly, they only need to be doing their jobs which is exactly (well for the most part) what they’re doing so far.

  • heather!

(I added a “!” to my name to let you all know i’m serious)Alex, Obama is and CAN not be the end all-be all of our party. There are several other politicians in this party that are Congressmen, Mayors (Newark esp.), Senators that need to start coming to the forefront and spreading this message of the party and not always making Obama be the front man for everything, eventually this “one man show” will back-fire. Now is the time to find/build/shout our voice because when the Republican party starts to get their shit together, and they will- sooner than later, we will be ready with more than “Well…..Rush is a dick.”

  • http://annette-justmylittlepieceoftheworld.blogspot.com/ Annette

Night all.. I think it is my bed time.. before I say something I shouldn’t….lol

  • http://www.isitbeertime.com/ jane

Adding: military spending? The Dems are weak?Stop watching so much TV.

  • gypsy

jane where are you?! save me from this conversation!btw heather i don’t think you are dumb or a troll. i think you have just fallen into the rights fear mongering talking points that the “media” spew on a daily basis!

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl

Well, I gotta go but in the meantime, Heather, have a drink, relax and stop watching Fox News.Maybe I’ll check in later. Goodnight all.

  • heather!

Jane: Eat me.Broadway Carl: I can’t, don’t get me wrong, I like the direction we were going. My problem is that we have a tenancy to get sidetracked by stuff like Rush and not stay focused.Gypsy: I can and I did say that. This is something that has happened throughout the history of the party, one election cycle doesn’t change anything- remember W. got a second term.Alex: We always need to remember that there are young people today that will vote tomorrow, there are independents today that might be democrats tomorrow thus, increasing the majority. Again, we will get no where with complacency.

  • Alex

Heather, if I could use a baseball analogy here for a sec: When you’ve got young guys with “potential” just starting out in your system you don’t just put them up in the big leagues and start them every game. You let them develop on their own and gradually work them to the big game. Obama did that for the last few years (although I personally think he got a little lucky with the whole “who is the real Obama argument) and now he’s president based off a strong, smart, and well played campaign (among other factors). You let you major league ready people do the leading, NOT your prospects.

  • heather!

ha. fear-mongering.don’t come bitching to me during the next election hippies.

  • Alex

    AAAAAAnd there’s the troll moment……

  • GIthePotato

Heather!NO ONE PUTS BABY(Jane) IN THE CORNER!Calm the fuck down. You may be making valid points but you are debating drunk liberals. Slow down! Remember everything is slower down south.

  • gypsy

jeez…what can you say to that regurgitating, obviously heather is not seeing the point, comment?!

  • http://www.isitbeertime.com/ jane

Heather!!!!!!!Eat me, bitch, the word is tendency. (!!! I am serious!!!)You are biting not the hand that feeds you, but the one that would have your back if you weren’t such a flaming douche.

  • gypsy

FUCK YOU JOE! i am not drunk! and i might be in the south but there is nothing SLOW about me!

  • Kat

Tsk, tsk. You don’t wander in here and start pissing off the Cescans like that. Talk if you want, but don’t be a jackass.

  • http://www.isitbeertime.com/ jane

too late, Kat….just too late. I am afraid miz HEATHER!!! has made her bed, and now she (he?) must lie in it…

  • GIthePotato

Heather! Hippies? Seriously?Could we please come up with some modern idiotic remarks for opposing political viewpoints?I like Comosocialarkist and McCarthRaciLimbaughiconCan you tell which one is left and right?

  • http://www.isitbeertime.com/ jane

I, for one, welcome our new Socialist Pinko Commie Furriner Overlords.

  • AdyLeigh

Yes, he saw the irony all of it. But the most ironic thing, of course, IS his father.I just hope my son never writes a book.

  • GIthePotato

gypsy, slow in the taking your time to get things done not as in mental impairment. Oh..FUCK OFF BACK?!

  • gypsy

ahh. ady, where did that come from?! hehe…

  • Kat

    Don’t forget the laugh, Jane.

  • gypsy

if you ever want to see “baby” again you will publically give an apology!

  • http://www.isitbeertime.com/ jane

    gone so soon…*sniff*

  • gypsy

jane, it’s 11:04 is it time? p.s. if gi doesn’t “sorry up” don’t fight when you feel someone taping you up tonight!

  • GIthePotato

gypsy and all southerners, I apologize for my trespass. Now give Jane back.

  • Heather!

I’m not gone bitches (had to go refill my Xanax Rx)!!!! No, honestly, no hard/mean/bad feelings meant to all. I get feisty.Fear mongering- I’m not. Just because I am thinking about political strategy, future issues and how to handle them, doesn’t mean I watch Fox “News”. I’ve tried, but 2 TVs later, I’ve learned to block it from my cable.

  • gypsy

gi, you will have to soak her to get the stickiness from the duck tape off! i make no comments about what to “soak” her in… ;) and thanks…heather…talking about rush is part of strategy as well. you can not seperate him from the republican party right now. esp. since they are licking his balls! (ewww…i just threw up in my mouth)

  • http://obamaproject.windonwater.net QueenTiye

Holy Cow! We have our own Rick Santelli (sp?)! Welcome, Heather!Any chance we can whack Bob and Lee for changing times in short notice? Cuz….I missed the whole darned program. :( @gypsy: you like when Bob does what?Sorry to be late…QT

  • Heather!

Gypsy, oh good god that mental image is nasty. (there’s a political cartoon in there somewhere though…..). I agree with you totally that it is, I just like to remind myself that it probably won’t remain that way forever, though, it is fun.I do find it amusing that COPAC had people like Ann & Rush. It’s the equivilant of having Olberman as the head speaker at the DNC and actually expect anyone to take it seriously. The strange thing is, with COPAC- they are.

  • Heather!

Negative QT. I am no Rick, nor am I “yours”Hearts and thoughts though.

  • gypsy

i agree heather! damn girl…those pills chilled you out really well! ;) queen, i like it when bob makes his funny voices like rush and bill clinton. GIRL! bob did bill tonight! that should make you faint! hehe…

  • http://obamaproject.windonwater.net QueenTiye

@Heather: Just my way of saying hi, and glad to have your voice in the chorus that is the GDAB. (OK, plus making a small joke about the need for decaf, but perhaps that was unkind.) In any event, no harm intended.@gypsy: I’ll have to listen to the podcast. I hope this one is easier to access than the last.QT

  • http://obamaproject.windonwater.net QueenTiye

    Dreaded doublepost… :(

  • Heather!

Gypsy, the pills do work. If you think this was loco, imagine what it’s like for the poor bastard who is married to me. In my defense, I’m as zany in the sack, so at least I got that going for me.I’m leavin on a high note (and the top chef reunion is on). Thanks for the debate! Nite all!!!!!Hearts and thoughts.

  • jane

    oh, love and unicorns, heather!!!

    Heather -

Let us please not forget that it was John McCain who said “the fundamentals of our economy are strong” not Obama. If the economy had not made such a quick turn for the worse, this might be an entirely different conversation…..

I disagree. I could be wrong, but I don’t think so. There is no way in Hell that McCain was going to win. His stand on Iraq guaranteed his loss to Obama. I may have been too certain of this fact since I was in New England until 3 months before the election and New England got rid of the last of their Republican Representatives. New England also felt the erosion of the economy well before the U.S. Heartland did. We knew we were in a recession over a year ago. Bush fiddled and evaded the R word. McCain said the economy was sound. New England KNEW that this was a lie. Just because the corporatist media pretended that the economy is fine does not mean that they can fool everyone. It was a certainty that McCain was going to loose big in New England.I also take issue with your statement that the democrats are not doing anything useful right now. What in the Hell do you think that they are doing? Giving each other blow jobs? While the Republicanastycals are getting face time in the media to apologize to the Lush Rimjob, the democrats are writing bills, which is, in fact, their job. Obama talks to us for 15-25 minutes nearly every day at noon. He tells us his plans. Those plans sound very well thought out to me. Meanwhile, the ‘opposition’ is bitching and moaning and being obstructionist assholes. Our job here, is to point at the ‘opposition’ and laugh. Their approval rating is at an all time low and is still dropping. They keep doing the same things over and ever again expecting different results. They are insane. Fiscal conservatives are becoming independents because they don’t want to remain a member of the fascist party that the Republican party has become. While my leader is busy fixing things I consider it my duty to point out in excruciating detail every little and big thing those fascist bastards have done wrong for the past eight years. The republican party is a party of oath breakers that can not be allowed to regain power. Ignoring the laws and the Constitution of this country is something that I will not tolerate.I do not use fascist as an insult. The neocons really are fascists. Compare and contrast the neoconservative platform as documented by Perle with the platforms of the 1930s National Socialists in Germany and the Fascists in Italy. I wonder why Perle, Rove, and Cheney decided to call it neoconservatism instead of fascism. Their masquerade did not fool everyone.
