Mr. Stranahan — If you want people to blog about Rush Limbaugh’s bad ideas instead of documenting how crazy he is, then go forth and blog about his bad ideas instead of blogging about how we shouldn’t blog about his ridiculousness. Meanwhile, I will proceed to blog about both.

Thank you. You said it better than I could’ve.

  • theghostsong

I understand where the Stranahan is coming from, he just has the tendency to phrase his arguments in the most convoluted way possible.

Also, while you’re at it? Can you explain how you can hope for a policy to fail without hoping for the consequences of that policy’s failure? Because I do not understand this logic and I begin to suspect that it is not, in fact, logical.

    >I understand where the Stranahan is coming fromThat makes one of you

Excellent! It’s a soap opera!.By the way, is there a difference?I thought Rush Limbaugh’s bad ideas was the same thing as being crazy? Someone tell me what I’m missing.

I almost always understand where Lee is coming from, even I don’t agree with him. But I’ve got nothing on this one. Mix one part Republican talking points with two parts denial.

    “…even if I don’t agree…” Damn typos.

Nobody with a brain cares about Rush’s ideas other than as further documentation of his ability to be a disgusting loon that makes a lot of money being a disgusting loon. There is a real strategy to the Democrats’ talking point of Rush as gop leader.see Political Wire or FiveThirtyEight for two views on the strategy

  • eve

p.s.the strategy has nothing to do with beating Rush

The back and forth between you guys is genuine, classic and brings me back again and again. I’m with Bob 9 out of 10, but I appreciate the unabashed honesty from a couple of real patriots.

I think both of them should find some place private, compare wee-wees and be done with it. All this nillygiddling over semantics is exhausting, just drop your jocks and have this thing settled.

Couple things here.First, I am a loyal listener of Rush/Hannity/Formerly OReilly. This would make me one of the 20 million that Rush can get to make phone calls. However, I DON”T AGREE WITH 98% OF THE SHIT THAT COMES OUT OF THEIR MOUTHS! If Rush asks his listeners to call, I call but to counter his moron legion’s call. Plus, I like to know the talking points of the day to crush my political opponents.Second, I will try to humor Lee’s post about, “Rush talks about the proper role of government”. Rush has no idea about the proper role of government. Free Markets exploit people, Defense contractors bleed this country dry and the healthcare industry has made our bodies a fucking AUTOZONE.Rush’s ideology on just government has been proven wrong for the last 20 years. We have tried it and it has failed.

Rush is the perfect poster boy for the current incarnation of conservatism. His whole life is riddled with hypocrisy.Rush champions personal responsibility, yet he has none. He advocates punishing criminals harshly for small infractions even as he’s broken the law on more than one occasion. He assails the supposed loose morals of the Left right before he boards a plane bound for the Dominican Republic with a couple bottles of Viagra. He claims to cherish the concept of marriage as an institution designed exclusively for one man and one woman even though he’s never been able to successfully maintain one of his own. I could go on and on, but everyone here knows the story. There is nothing wrong with pointing these things out, though it seems like a personal attack. It’s not really an attack on Rush personally, but an attack on his credibility or lack thereof. No one shoved Rush into the limelight where all of these things would be revealed. Instead, he’s shoved everyone one else out of the way, proclaimed his own authority on all of these issues and now we’re told by Lee that we shouldn’t point out the hypocrisy because it’s mean or not as lofty as the argument we should be making.Rush Limbaugh is an object to be ridiculed. We didn’t make him that way. Comfortably squeezed into the chair behind his microphone, he’s presented himself as a target and dared us to take a shot.He makes a rather large, easy target wouldn’t you say?

Well I guess the few times I have been forced by circumstances to listen to him, I must have slept through his “ideas” because all I ever heard spew from his mouth was hate and ridicule of something or someone. But I was never a “loyal” listener. It was only those very few times when I was on the road and there was absolutely NOTHING on and I was out of books on tape and had to have noise.

  • exoevolution

Rush has no ideas & he is crazy. You got my vote.

  • sammyscooge

Personally, I don’t want to discuss him OR his so-called “ideas”. Doing so is giving him FAR too much credibility as a human being, let alone a voice for the right.I say let them have him and his schtick. Because that’s all it is. Schtick. When this blob falls, he’s gonna fall hard.

  • SillyRatfacedGit

His bad ideas are part and parcel of his ridiculousness.

  • AdyLeigh

Git and Annette, I agree with and luv you both.
