Rewarding Failure

There’s no better illustration of the insider “who you know” nature of cable news than a guy like Tucker Carlson, who has failed miserably on two networks, being invited back onto both CNN and MSNBC to comment on the news of the day.

Laurence O’Donell is really fucking smart. Tucker is hack and should be treated as such. Jon Stewart killed his Crossfire show and did the nation a favor. Hopefully, Jon can do it with other shows.HOLY SHIT!!! JON CAN STOP BECK!!!

the Joe, I think Mr. the Colbert’s Doom Bunker segment was pretty awesome. Perhaps between the two of them they can spear him like the oily mammoth he is and bring him down. Roast Beck for all cavemen!

In Tucker’s case, it’s “who you blow”.You’re much too generous Mr. Cesca.

Failure is the surest way to get on a cable-tv mocking heads show. Again, I’ll use the example of Harold Ford Jr, Tom Delay, Newt Gingrich and their ilk. They are brought on not to offer insightful commentary, but to gleefully offer up their ideology while simultaneously pretending to have some inside-the-beltway source that is telling them stuff that, whoa, “I wish could tell you but boy things are going to get worse if we do blah blah book me for next week blah blah bullshit dribbling out of the corners of my mouth blah.”When the talking heads do invite someone knowledgeable on, like Zbigniew Brzezinski, they get owned and then spend time crying about it, vowing to never make that mistake again.

On the term “Rewarding Failure,” I have this question for the group:Here in W PA, there are (and were, pre- 11/4/08) plenty of businesses that advertised their political leanings, either through huge McCain signs, or downright nasty anti-Obama signs. I’m astounded by this. They are potentially driving away business (I would never shop at a place that has a sign in front of it that quotes that dickhead Savage,) and then they’ll cry and say it’s all Obama’s fault that their small business failed?NO, DUMBASS, you failed because you drove off customers who refuse to reward failure. Is this prevalent anywhere else in the country?

Yes, the media dork swine are an incestuous bunch, aren’t they?

Not only has he failed miserably at two networks, but he also failed miserably with regards to an education. He didn’t even finish a simple arts degree at university, yet he’ll come on these shows spouting certainties as if he has any idea about what’s going on with the economy. Why would ANYONE listen to what he has to say? Ridiculous.

Carlson always struck me as the model for Alex P. Keaton. At least those of his ilk appear to have served as the inspiration for the character. Carlson has a youthful appearance, is conceited as all hell, and he’s on TV.I guess the media dorks’ segment producers believe that Carlson is some sort of fascinating relic worth studying or something like that. You know…a real live Republicon snot that talks a bunch, never really says anything truly remarkable, but always inspires a laugh or two.Tucker’s like an overgrown child actor perpetually attempting to force others into submitting to the niche he’s settled into himself.Watching him posture and pontificate is like watching one of those real good episodes of The Twilight Zone in reverse.

But, but… the first time I ever saw Rachel… it was on Carlson’s show. That has to count for something, right?
