A Cork on The Fork

In that respect, maybe there’s something to the tea baggery as a cork on the fork — a way to prevent them from hurting themselves. And others. However, if that’s the case, will they have hold their tea bag parties every weekend for the next four/eight/???? years? And what do they do with their tridents?

    haha! classic. my family uses “cork on the fork” all the time!also, never equated these protests to “helping” release the tension being felt. i can see that. however, i also think that it “fires” people up as well. coming into contact with more crazy people and more crazy thoughts could create even more fear and anger. also, strength in numbers kinda thing…

    Bob,We’ve discussed this briefly… why aren’t (with a few notable exceptions) main stream media people calling bullshit on this insanity?During the Bush years, I don’t recall any “left wing media types” calling for armed insurrection.Aren’t there any responsible journalists or pundits left out there?

It gives you comfort to say it’s all wingnuts, and to label them marginal and crazy. There were almost 60 million Americans who did not vote for Obama. I would say that if the Stimulus bill is really a Stimulus bill and works, your still in good shape. If, on the other hand, it turns out to be mostly pork with no stimulus effect, and the economy continues to suck, then you have a big problem. One Trillion dollars, soooo important to sign right now, don’t even bother to read it, all about jobs, jobs, jobs. Whats the unemployment rate now 8.5%. Obama claimed that WITHOUT the immediate passage of the stimulus bill we would run the risk of hitting a 9% rate in 2010. So WITH the passage were at 8.5% in QTR 1 2009. State governments are out of money, layoffs galore are coming, taxes are being increased, people are at the end of their unemployment benefits, the foreclosures that were put on hold for 6 months are coming up soon, etc, etc, etc.You have no cover on the Stimulus bill, you own it, and you own the economy now. The blame it on Bush doesn’t fly now, and certainly won’t by the 2010 elections.
