Glenn Beck doubles down on Jonah Goldberg and insists that liberals can be fascists:

Ask any historian or political scientist and they’ll tell you that fascism and liberalism are entirely incompatible and opposite.

Goldberg and Beck just like to say “fascism” because of the Nazi implications. Hitler, of course, wouldn’t want anything to do with an American liberal — especially an African American liberal with a Jewish chief of staff. However, read up on Henry Ford and you’ll learn a little about fascists and American conservatives.

I mean, even O’Reilly corrects Beck on this. If Bill O’Reilly is calling bullshit, it’s seriously bullshit.

    I think I heard Krugman say once on Sam Seder’s show that if you take a look at early issues of the National Review, you find one of their favorite guys was General Francisco Franco.I may be going out on a limb here, but FDR may just have saved us from fascism. It was pretty much in vogue at the time with many countries embracing it. Luckily, we chose a different path altogether.

Convinced that this amazing flash of perfect insight – this idea, perspective, understanding has come to him and him alone.NO ONE has ever thought this before! And yet, it’s so simple! So clear! So obvious!The difference between Beck and the Frosh is that the student is generally just ripping off JS Mill, or Voltaire, or some other long dead, heavily annotated, totally well understood classic (except Heidegger, who’s still pretty much fucked).Beck, on the other hand, has simmered up a pot of hossenpfeffer that’s half crazy, half stupid, spiced with ignorance and a pinch of batshit nuts.Still, though, the grinning, “Jeez…don’t you see it?     Holy shit. I thought I’d never see the day where Bill Oral-ly was, with the slight exception of his self-aggrandizing “I’m gonna kick your ass, Bill Clinton” tangent, the absolute and total voice of reason.Wow.It is true that some of the motivation may well be because Bill sees Beck as a rating and “big-star-of-the-network” threat, but I don’t think that’s all of it. I gotta think Bill is genuinely off-put by Beck’s level of tinfoil hat nuttery as well.

    Bob, tell Glenn Beck and Jonah Goldberg, The American Liberty League wasn’t an organization concocted by Liberals.Beck and Goldberg are willing accomplices in its modern day manifestation.”The League” didn’t really go anywhere. They just got smarter about concealing it behind the Glenn Becks of the country.
