FUCK YEAH!!!”You just don’t get it. My generation has already won.”Brilliant!!!

The neocons should tremble in their boots when they see this video. I’m not kidding. They are alienating a generation of voters. Even self-identified conservatives (ages 18-24) in general really don’t give a damn about social issues.

Video of the year award.”my generation doesn’t care”That sums it up. I won’t get into again, but we have a lot of generational divides in this country.

I am 26. My sister is gay. Not one person that I know cares. You have already lost.

Wouldn’t it be nice if villainous fuckholes like Cheney or Gingrich had some of Teh Gay in their families and could actually listen to, and learn from, those voices of reason? That’d be nice.Oh, wait…

His daughter is very smart, and correct. As a person who is the ripe age of 29, I think the argument is now over. If this can pass in the heartland then the tipping point has been reached. Good on Senator Gronstal!

When you are a liberal, your ideology changes as reality requires. Having siblings that are gay will cause reevaluation of your positions and ideology. When you are a conservative, reality is distorted to suit your ideology. The ideology is static and inflexible, even when it is obviously wrong. Things that demonstrate wrongness in the ideology are simply overlooked, ignored, and religated to nonexistence.

It sure is weird that gay marriage is passed in “the heartland” but it was overturned in California with prop8. Oh yeah, the mormon church poured millions into the anti gay marriage campaign.

This sounds horribly Sarah Palinesque, but I can see Iowa from my house (looking at it right now, actually), and I wish Nebraska could be more like her eastern cousin. For two states that share such deep agricultural similarities, we tend to have absolutely nothing else in common.I may need to move a few hundred yards across the border.

holy smokes. that gave me goosebumps.

Elvis,You are in the RED BELT around the giant belly of conservative America. The “Red Coats” will never give up their BELT. That is why they have giant Confederate Flag BELT buckles. (Unfortunately, I was stationed at Ft. Riley Kansas and know this to be the truth)

VT legislature overrode the Gov’s veto of the same sex marriage bill today. :) Still waiting for New England to turn into the gay Mecca…

A very brave man. To admit he could learn something from his daughter. That touched me.I too can almost see Iowa from my home in Missouri. It is true we are right in the middle of the bible belt (as a native Kansan I would take exception at the red=Confederate belt description. History proves that false.)But all belts aside, this is unfortunately the most conserative section of the country. But the people themselves are generally pragmatic, and ruled by common sense. Sometimes, not always, but sometimes we do the right thing.
