Hey fellow Cescans:Check out this nastiness from Mr. Moore!http://moorethoughts.com/2009/04/17/janeane-you-ignorant-slut/Terri____________Janeane, You Ignorant SlutFiled under: PoliticsThe whole “teabaggers are racist” schtick was old before it even get started, primarily because it was utterly predictable. From Janeane Garofalo, the actress we are all really waiting to get killed off of 24, comes this diatribe of madness“Let’s be very honest about what this is about. This is not about bashing Democrats. It’s not about taxes. They have no idea what the Boston Tea party was about. They don’t know their history at all. It’s about hating a black man in the White House,” she said on MSNBC’s “The Countdown” with Keith Olbermann Thursday evening. “This is racism straight up and is nothing but a bunch of teabagging rednecks. There is no way around that.”Olbermann did not once try to challenge her on those assertions. The actress went on to describe the brain size of typical “right-winger, Republican or conservative or your average white power activist.”“Their synapses are misfiring. … It is a neurological problem we are dealing with,” she said. This isn’t the first time she’s offered this analysis, either. Ms. Garofalo said similar things about Alaskan GOP Governor Sarah Palin’s brain last February in an interview with an environmental blog.Politely, I must assert that if you believe this, you are heretofore a complete and utter idiot. And before you knee-jerk lefties get on my case, it’s not name calling when it’s a fact.Believing anything because it fits with a preconceived opinion, without any factual evidence whatsoever, demonstrates a fatal deficiency in the ability to critically think – intellectual scurvy, if you will. I tire of racist accusations from the Left being levied at me and people like me because of disagreements on issues, not on any actual evidence, and as is the case here, coming from a series of events that could not be further removed from race. The Tea Party movement is about the issues. Big issues. As in a big, big government with many issues that the tax funding segment of our society has been saddled with and doesn’t like. To put in terms I do hope everyone can understand, which do you really believe is more important – that Barack Obama is black, or that he is dwarfing his predecessors fiscally irresponsible efforts by proposing more spending than two Iraq wars?As was predicted prior to the election here on this site, as in many other thinking quarters, the election of Obama was not going to usher in a post-racial society, and it is not because all of the sudden we were going to see an increase in racists. Instead, it is because leftist windbags like Janeane Garfalo can’t let race go. It is a part of their identity, settled well within their long held and ill-founded preconceptions that they do not have the intestinal fortitude to confront. That somehow everyone who disagrees with them is evil. It is this sort of thinking that is perverse and dangerous. It is not the Tea Party protesters who gather peacefully to object to the direction of our country that we should concern ourselves with, but rather the societal fabric-tearing mindset of those like Garofalo who would rather see society burn.

“It is, because they aren’t representing ***my*** views.”OMG…On account of having elected a black man, some citizens have now eschewed republican style democracy. Apparently, they want direct democracy – including a say on every matter, rather than having elected officials make these determinations. Well, ok, then, but what happens if they still lose?QT

Terri -If it is really about protesting a government that has grown too large against the will of the people. (Which people would this be? This government, like all before it, was elected by a majority. Therefore trying to claim that it is against the will of the people is not only risible, it is an outright lie.) Where were these protests during the two administrations that grow the government to record sizes? You are aware that Reagan just about doubled the size of the federal government while cutting the size of the FDA, EPA, and other agencies that protect us from being poisoned by corporations. Bush continued with more of the same. Where were you people then when the government was actually being grown? You should check some facts yourself before you start hurling insults. You appear to be a misinformed ideologue to me.

Sorry Terri, You were reporting what someone else was saying. That’s what I get for reading too quickly. My previous comment is directed at Mr. Moore not Terri.

No worries – I have done the same thing in the past.I am against what Nathan Moore wrote.-Terri

Thank you Terri for pointing this out. Here is what I posted on Nathan Moore’s blog (Since I don’t know this fellow, what I post there might get ‘moderated’):

Apparently deficit spending is bad when it goes to infrastructure maintenance that has been put off for thirty years while bridges fall into rivers and levees collapse during storms.

Deficit spending is good when it pores money into corrupt corporations that electrocute 140 of our troops in defective showers.

Deficit spending is good when we are ‘misplacing’ nine billion dollars in Iraq.

Deficit spending is good when we are invading and occupying a sovereign foreign nation that never attacked us.

Heaven forbid we hire Americans to rebuild America. That is irresponsible government spending and growing the government too large.

I have no idea what is wrong with you people. You lose an election and then still expect to have everything done your way.

If you don’t like socialism, then stay out of our socialist public libraries and keep your children out of the socialist public schools. Don’t use the socialist Fire Department or the socialist police force. Hire your own security forces.

If you object to socialism, then stay off of our socialist highway system. If you think that spending money on the infrastructure is irresponsible then please tell us which bridges we use and we won’t repair those. When they fall into the river you can build your own bridge and charge everyone else a toll to use it.

gyps -I think you’ve nailed it.

I think this cartoon sums up the teabaggers fairly well.http://cagle.com/politicalcartoons/PCcartoons/parker.asp

Teabags had nothing to do with the Boston Tea party since they were invented in the early 20th century.
