CNN Gets Ballsy with Tea Baggers

Bad headline pun kind of intended.

Not only does this clip underscore the silliness and lack of coherent message among the tea baggers, but wow — that CNN reporter is really brave.

Incidentally, the Lincoln guy probably doesn’t realize that President Lincoln created the income tax to help pay for the war. Another tea bag fail.

Nice Santelli for President sign.I don’t think this is so much a protest as it is a celebration of ignorance and bafoonery.

  • Sierradrinker

    Obama is a fascist because he’s a fascist.Genius.

  • Farah

These are klan rallies pure and simple.Fucking gross ignorant morons.

  • GItheJOE

Elvis, you have been hailed with the “Lincoln” symbol. Engage.Stop teaching me shit on this site. Bob Cesca just informed me that Lincoln created the income to pay for a WAR. That is goddamn unamerican. We don’t pay for wars, we cut taxes during war.

  • MZ

Do we have any idea of how many people are at these things, total?I’ve seen some described as “a few dozen”, a couple as “around 300″, but some of the video shows crowds that look bigger still.I’m really just guessing, but if we say there are about 100 of these things going, and an average of 300 people at each, that’s 30,000 people. Two-thirds of a crazy, crazy baseball stadium. Even if we double that, or hell, triple it, that’s still only a Redskins-game-crowd-sized ball of crazy. If they surround us, it’s a pretty thin line.

  • Farah

That reporter is hawt…nice to see someone on CNN actually doing their job.

  • GItheJOE

MZ, 30,000 is about 10 Brigade Combat teams. We have 42 so don’t be scared my liberal fascist friend, THEY ARE SURROUNDED!

  • AC

That IS ballsy. Someone so wound-up that they can make a hitler/obama sign, get on a bus, step up to a microphone and STILL have put zero thought into any kind of persuasive argument would have very little self-restraint if the mob turned. Imagine someone yells “GET HER!” He’d be in on the violence like stink on poop.No reasoning with folks in this mental state.

  • gypsy

that second dude was totally holding back angry tears! hehe…

  • The Colonel

The monitoring of wingnuttery on this blog has made my day very enjoyable – along with needling all my conservative co-workers with questions like “Are you going balls-out for teabagging day? I’m sure the GOP could use your full-throated support!”(they laugh back, by the way – they know it’s stupid :) )

  • http://www.thenewwearsoff.com/ Kyle

I was waiting for the second guy to break into “The Rainbow Connection” at any moment. This clip is more devastating for their little “parties” than any tea bag joke.

Ok, just caught Neil Cavuto talking with Glenn Beck and asked, “How do the people out there like being called nuts or extremists or firnge?” While Beck was waiting for the PA system to be turned on so he could ask, he was expounding on the fact that this just didn’t happen overnight. “People are tired of the spending. It happened under George Bush and it’s happening under Barack Obama.”When the system was finally turned in, he asked the large Alamo crowd, “I’d like you to meet a friend of mine, Neil Cavuto. He just wanted to know how you feel about being called TERRORISTS and OUTCASTS?” The crowd obviously booed. “See, Neil? That’s exactly what extremists would say.”What the fuck?!PS Cavuto responded with, “Glenn, that was your ‘Evita’ moment.”

  • incredulous72

At the risk of being redundant, NO ONE should be allowed to use the words, ‘socialism’, ‘fascism’, or ‘communism’, unless they fully understand the meaning of previously mentioned words.Repeating them over and over and over again does not make your ignorant-ass statement valid. And that reporter is brave.Balls to the wall!

  • SkipHenderson

The reporter’s next statement, instead of the circular “why?/because he is!” bullshit, should have been, “Then define ‘fascist’ for us.”The silence, just like when you ask a rethuglican the definition of Socialism or to expound on objectivism, would be deafening.

  • Mr. Lancers

It reminds me of that Simpsons episode when the Simpsons go to Itchy & Scratchy Land and they get attacked by those Itchy & Scratchy robots. The only difference is that instead of fighting them off with the flash of a camera, you just simply state facts to the contrary and watch them short circuit right before you.

  • http://www.broadwaycarl.blogspot.com Broadway Carl™

I wonder how many people protesting filed their taxes this year.

  • http://imaginistaphoto.blogspot.com/ Imaginista

I noticed that AP is reporting “THOUSANDS” attending the teabaggery nonsense, or as TBogg called it, The Testicle Festival. http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20090415/ap_on_re_us/tax_day_protestsGood old AP. Wanna bet how they low balled war protest attendance numbers? The immigration march attendance? Anyone hooked up to LexusNexus?

  • midad

That female reporter is awesome, always is.

  • incredulous72

    Heh-heh. Imaginista said ‘low balled’.

  • mattpddm03

I wrote my check for taxes on sunday, way more than I thought I would owe. But I paid. My conservative bro told me i should go out and protest on Wed. I said I was paying so I didn’t have to teabag anyone else. My tax rate (through turbo tax’s funny math) was somewhere around 17%. It’s a lot, I hate to pay it, but I do.Especially if the government can:1) Pay for a better school system for the children of mr teabagger 1. He’s a moron, they deserve better than what he got.2) Stimulate the economy so much so that mr teabagger 2 gets his job back at sesame place as kermit.

  • Matt McD.

When Kyra said, “That’s not what we expected to see,” do you think she was referring to her reporter actually challenging these brainless automatons on their ill-conceived, moronic, and by their own definition traitorous protests?

  • incredulous72

I don’t think she was expecting the teabaggers to be so brainless.

  • http://thestonerocks Ryan Firestone

In addition to giving birth to the income tax in order to put down the Southern terrorists’ rebellion, Lincoln promulgated the Emancipation Proclamation. Oddly enough, it too was protested on the grounds that it was an unconstitutional violation of property rights. I would cut these guys more slack if they actually aligned themselves w/ other right-wing quacks of American history, rather than besmirching the historical personas of folks like Lincoln and Paine.

  • JG

There is only one question to ask–and it is the MOST important journalistic question to ask. How much money do you make? and the follow up–Do you realize you are getting a tax cut under Obama?I haven’t heard it asked once. And as silly as this has been is still gives the impression that Obama is raising taxes when he is not–He is raising taxes on people making over 200K–They will revert back to the Clinton bracket. That is the responsible way to cover these rallies–but the BBQ media wouldn’t dare let the facts get in the way.

  • Devin

Frankly I think it’s great, it will further deteriorate the G.O.P. and it’s wingnut base to such a laughing stock one has to assuem they will not come back into power for some time. But then again….Are these people really that stupid?.Oh yeah, they are….

  • Nanotyrannus

I really love the way she went right back at him instead of just saying “Hmmm interesting debate here” like the sonofabitch had a legitimate point. Too often they are afraid to just stay “Uh, that’s fucking stupid” and instead engage them as if they are articulate and deserving of attention.

  • Lexaburn

I call bullshit on this. The dude’s a network plant, with his “Operation Choas” cap and bonehead logic. The reporter was much too confrontational, which is highly unlikely, given that this is all a corporate endeavor being covered by corporate shills. It looks to me like CNN are trying to win back some credibility. Credibility that would have been achieved by treating these “tea parties” like the scamariffic con-servative exhibitions that they are, giving them the coverage a real news network would have given to, say, the Running of the Bulls in Spain. Of course, you can conclude what I’m really driving at, so there no need to elaborate.Instead, like always, the swine networks dignify con-servative nonsense as legit by sending reporters down to “interview” buffoons, all the while placating the true adherents of fascism, while deviating from their benefactors’ antics.I bet the reporters went out of their way to mention that these were all “grassroots” efforts, and that, even though they are funded by corporations, the citizenry that showed up have legitimate concerns (as do all psychotic sore losers).Whatever.

  • blue dog

You people are about the Dumbest bunch of candy asses I have ever come across. (You make a Bowling Ball look sharp)Go ahead and make stupid statements, while your Govenment(doesn’t matter the party in control)borrows trillions from the Federal reserve, knowing full well it can’t pay back the principle, (let alone the interest).I think everyone knows full well, if the Government had the money in reserve, (and was actually collecting interest), no one would say a word about it’s spending habits. And, to the best of my recollection, Lincoln may have started an income tax to support the Union Army’s war efforts, it however, was soon ended after the war ended. It wasn’t started back again until the Federal Reserve was created. The Federal Reserve IS NOT a governmental institution. It is a private bank!!(World Bank) Yet, our government views it the same way most view thier credit cards. (It borrows against it to fund it’s lifestyle). And, the problem is…….once there is more debt than can ever be paid back, then your a slave to the people who lent the money. In this case, it’s the American people who are holding the debt, political views nonwithstanding. (Our government borrows this money in your name, stupid!!)And, I suppose if I was to borrow a million dollars from the bank, in your name(money that neither of us could ever pay back) you would be just as happy go lucky???

  • Alex

Oh fuck blue dog you’re so right! They’re borrowing it and not even using it for anything! RIGHT! Oh wait…..nope you’re still a moron.

  • incredulous72

It is the capitalist way blue dog! It’s what free market is all about. Funny, none of this ‘outrage’ was heard of when W was busting the deficit wide open with his war and corporate tax cuts and egregious government spending.

  • Lexaburn

Is this “Blue Dog” bitch yet another hit’n'run troll?First off, Blue Bitch, “candy asses” should be in reference to “tea party” dorks, not those mocking them.Second, if you’re so worried about all our damned money being spent up, what the fuck is the point coming here to fake-mock us about it when you’re in the same goddamn situation we are, dumbass? As if we couldn’t mock you all for the same shit.Shit, you imbeciles are the ones supposedly pissed off about money being spent up, or taxes, or “big government,” or because you’re a bunch of spoiled brats that are now seen as such. No longer will smart people listen to your whining about shit concocted in your boneheads. Now I know it must feel good coming here to vent your pissant frustrations at the “liberals,” pr Democrats, or just plain Obama supporters and whatnot, but first you must make sure that you’re not a dumbbell prone to authoring stupid shit, ok.If both parties are ripping us off, why the fuck come here to complain about it? Some here are obvious adherents to all the shit you oppose. No amount of berating will change their perspective. You’re a smart bitch, right little Blue?Tell us all why you REALLY came here to this site? Was it just to call us “candy asses” and attempt to give us a history lesson steeped in dementia?

  • Lexaburn

I always ask these morons that rail against the FRB whether they’re slaves like everyone else or not, and they never give me a straight answer. They mostly settle on bashing “both political parties,” since they think that shit makes them read like they’re rebels or some shit like that.Fucking dimwits. Going around parroting and deluding one another like the criminals at Arkham blaming Batman and Gotham for all their fuck-ups.These libertarians must understand that, according to thier claims, their dumbasses were conned at some point too, but since they’re latent Republicons, they’ll never admit the truth.

BLUE “DOG,” WHO DID YOU VOTE FOR IN THE LAST PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION?

  • mike

“These are klan rallies pure and simple.Fucking gross ignorant morons. Posted by: Farah at April 15, 2009 3:49 PM”congratulations Farah, you have described yourself perfectly: gross ignorant moronthey aren’t at work probably because many of them no longer have jobs thanks to Barney Frank and his male ex-lover Fannie Mae exec who together lobbied for Fannie Mae to allow funding of unsafe mortgage loans in the 90′s. maybe you haven’t seen the clip of Barney melting down when a college kid dared to question him on this last week.i was an arrogant leftist just like you in the 60′s, but i worked at Yale Law school and started reading some of the materials sent for printing from Eugene Rostow and began to see that the conservative viewpoint made more sense than bombing buildings like the Weathermen and Obama’s pal were into. also, the weathermen liked killing cops who got in their way. as a leftist i remember well how we tolerated no other point of view because we assumed WE were the enlightened ones, not them. leftists are only tolerant of their own delusions, you are the most intolerant of all, as in fascistic, of all other viewpoints.maybe you parlor panthers can sing along withPeter Paul and Mary on ‘If I Had a Hammer’, but check the window sign logo of the British Fabian Society and their motto. their logo is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, their goal is socialism without choice. “remoulding closer to the heart’s desire”i.e. forcing you into socialism. one of their leading proponents stated that in the socialist paradise “you might be kindly killed if you don’t meet expectations” oh, that was the great ‘liberal’ George Bernard Shaw wasn’t it? how totalitarian of him…fascist maybe? at least he promised that they will kill you kindly anyway.Obama is a frontman for the UN and North American Union and that’s the ultimate big government with socialist model.remember Stalin’s infamous Quote?”Divide the world into regional groups as a transitional stage to world government. Populations will more readily abandon their national loyalties to a vague regional loyalty than they will for a world authority. Later the regions can be brought all the way into a single world dictatorship.”- Joseph Stalin, Marxism and the National Question, 1942would that happen to be the EU, the African Union, the North American Union, APEC (Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation) and others coming together at a later date?how bout a Mark Twain viewpoint?‘In religion and politics, people’s beliefs and convictions are in almost every case gotten at second-hand, and without examination, from authorities who have not themselves examined the questions at issue, but have taken them at second-hand from other non-examiners, whose opinions about them were not worth a brass farthing.’-Mark TwainObama is just another world government clown, just as the George Bush’s and Clinton were, they all suck, they all are closet socialists who expanded government and created wars.Obama’s pulling out of Iraq? did he forget to tell you he’s invading Afghanistan and Pakistan instead?you should really make sure you aren’t a full time member of the sheeple and start really looking at all sides of things and investigating instead of wallowing in your arrogance

  • blue dog

Look, I not asking you to take my word for it. Please, do your own research, and pay close attention to the things that are reported between the bullshit.I was actually impressed with Obama, but as I see it now, there really is no sustantial Change from the last several presidents.I generally judge a man by who he surrounds himself with, and with this president, it’s the same long list of suspicious characters.Which leads me to believe, it’s a “status quo” of payoffs and special appointments.

  • AC

There is much about our track record of governing and spending that is distasteful. Sickening. Bullshit. This is not in dispute. How we get out of this situation is in dispute. Tough situations are “tough” because they MAKE YOU DO SHIT YOU DON’T PARTICULARLY LIKE TO DO. Like spending a shitload of money.Fortunately, tough circumstances make you focus your attention and resources on what is necessary (spend), and even provide an opportunity to ditch wasteful, frivolous shit (cut). One might even have to work a little harder (raise revenue).Read the President’s speech from 4/14. He’s in it for the long haul, thinking of the bigger picture. Quibble with a couple of minor points, but recognize that reshaping our economy will be painful and see the sense of what is proposed. We don’t have the luxury to bitch vaguely.

  • blue dog

AC,There in, is the problem.Yet, if I thought for a minute that the “Tough” circumstances were something of normal economic course, I’d agree. Also, the “Reshaping” that you mention is something people need to explore for themselves.(I.E: the shuffling of the World Order, bringing us in-line with who knows what.)

  • Lexaburn

Again, Blue Dog, who did you vote for in the last presidential election?Fucking blathering cowards can’t ever answer a goddamned question, can you?

“Obama’s pulling out of Iraq? did he forget to tell you he’s invading Afghanistan and Pakistan instead?”He can’t invade Afghanistan because we’re already there.Duh.And if he finally finishes the job and takes out the Al Qaida forces hiding in Pakistan every since Bush let them go, I say, go for it!

  • Lexaburn

See, folks, this, “transp0rter” moron is one of the dorks that attempts to play victim of circumstance. He arrives here to encourage the “Blue Dog” dork that came to this site to call people “candy asses” and whatnot, yet we’re the fucked-up ones for seeing through Blue Bitch’s bullshit, and insulting him the way little boy blue thought could insult us. “transp0rter” does this while reading like a high Jonah Goldberg acolyte.Typical nonsensical posturing from the con-servaknave imbeciles.Keep up the pressure, playas.

The man accusing Obama of being a Fascist doesn’t know the first thing about the ideology. With his militant bullying manner, it’s more likely that he is the true Fascist.

  • mike

he probably doesn’t know exactly what the word means, but as Mark Twain pointed out most people don’t know either, no matter what party you are aligned with. i’ll bet you had to look it up too, didn’t you?p.s. i voted for Ralph Nader because i knew Bush stole his first election and probably the second one also. or rather it was Carl Rove who stole them.Afghanistan has had only a policing force in it. this is now being escalated to a full sized military incursion. it’s funny how the press lies and says the Taliban are profiting from heroin. it was the Taliban who destroyed poppy production completely until we invaded the first time and ‘liberated’ the poppy fields.the tea parties were not started by Fox, a CNN lie. they took form on the web from bloggers, chat rooms, ect. they are not all republicans, they are a mix of all people and parties who are fed up with the massive, FREE banker bailouts (as opposed to loans only for companies) and ever increasing taxes. you should also know that CNN does not consider themselves to even be a USA supportive service. a lady i worked with recently back from Europe (her husband was still an officer there) she worked for US military intelligence, told me that fact. CNN is aligned with no one.Obama is a big fat liar. he kept half of Bush’s appointees. isn’t that a clue?read this story about his banker bailout deception and what it means for us:New Bubbles Brewing in Shanghai and Wall Streetby Gary Dorschhttp://www.kitco.com/ind/dorsch/apr152009.html

I seriously had to give media dork Matthews props for that moment. Truly one of the great moments during all that election coverage last year. How utterly hilarious and illuminating that event was.Pay the gibberish-speaking morons attempting to bully Cesca fans here no mind, or do pay them mind by mocking them unmercifully, the dingbats.

Trolls, please educate yourself before spouting off about the “political spectrum” and where ideologies fall…http://www.conservative-resources.com/right-wing-vs-left-wing.htmlDamn, hate doing homework for these folks…

  • Lexaburn

So, a bozo shows up here to brag about throwing his vote away on a political saboteur, eh? Very good, that right there.Nader is five seconds away from being Alan Keyes. The well of good will towards him ran dry about eight years ago, so don’t go bragging that you supported the great window browser of politics, ok.Nader would have been a REAL good alternative to a Bush or Gore, or, in the last case, McCain or Obama. He would have bored everyone with stories of how he took (stressing “took”) on “special interests” a million times during his ONE term. Bush would’ve been celebrating his “re-election” in ’08 if Nader won anything in 2000. No one (besides you), not even Nader himself, took the bullshit seriously in ’08. So, yes, I commend someone for actually getting around to admitting whom they voted for, but they lose points for being vainglorious about wasting a vote. People needed to be decisive this go ’round, and not be one of the many creeps going around talking about “told you so” to everyone that really could care less.Let me ask any of you that want to argue on the grounds of the great “War on Terror” and whatnot: are you in support of the Taliban, or are you just here to deviate from years of not having a voice during the eight Bush years? You see, the shit you’re attempting to push onto President Obama in ’09 was already there BEFORE he EVER got in. We all know that America participates in more chicanery than meager President Barack Obama can handle. You came here bragging about voting for the also-ran saboteur already, so do you believe yourself an expert on political considerations? Dubiousness personified.I’ll inform you right now, that, yes, you’re an supposed adherent to the corporatist/fascist/whateverthefuck system just like the rest of us, so you just fall in line and stop trying to bully us all with the scary Internet knowledge web articles and theories. We’ve all scoured the same shit as all of you. There are no revelations to be had here, and it all looks as if you’re all defensive knuckleheads bent on proving something here. Spouting the same gibberish that each and everyone of you spout. The same arguments offered in 2007 through 2008, and now ’09. Don’t you fuckers get tired of hearing or reading or, even seeing yourselves fail to make an impact? You might as well go shoot up your local church now, ‘cuz if you’re not entertaining the thought yourselves, individual conspiracy theorists, you never know about one of your comrades (‘cuz they probably are).Seriously. I myself have had enough of you wanna-be bully know-it-alls trying to inform everyone of how ignorant they are of all the ignoble things that are going on here and abroad, but merely reading like GOP hacks hesitant to admit your own inconsistencies.ENOUGH WITH YOUR BULLSHIT!E-N-O-U-G-H!

Lexaburn,I feel very sorry for you!!Your Parents must be proud of the way that you conform to the mindless heard……….. Even going as far as to help blind them, as they are being placed into a fenced pasture for the Masters pleasing. As for myself, I came here looking for some intellectual foresight into the politics of the day. And, the pity is that this Blog is anything but intellectual, much less based in any kind of reality. (It seems to live on in some “Fairy-Land” concept of hidden rage and arrogant ignorance.)I suppose, I should keep looking………. Not exclusively for those that always agree, but for the purpose of intellectual, and personal growth. It’s tough to learn from those that are so warped that they cannot tolerate another American citizen’s differing opinion. lex you realy need an enema man, you are one of the most constipated assholes i’ve ever seen.you can’t ignore me you just hate the fact that i fuck up your fantasy world with cold hard factsas for Obama Bin Biden, guys, he isn’t a fascist, he’s a collectivist demagogue. people need to start using the dictionary more often so you get your terms right. fascism is for ultra-right wing totalitarianism, something Obama isn’t at all.he’s the leftist version.remember all those campaign posters with his godlike (gag) picture and a single word like “Believe” or “Hope”? that’s demagoguery in action. that’s why people are comparing him to Hitler and/or Mussolini because they used the same techiques. posters of the supposed god-king.Bush and Obama were/are both being subliminally implanted in people’s minds by the sold out media as godlike figures. don’t believe me? notice how often they are photopraphed with circular lights that appear right above their heads, or the presidential seal blurred right around the edges of their heads. or anything circular that seems suspended behind and just above them. i saved some of these and one guy i showed them to in a bbs (with Bush) accused me of faking them.
