Convergeance

The morning torture-pornographers were in rare form today. I’m referring specifically to Doocy and Scarborough.

Here’s Scarborough:

Say, Joe, I’m not defending DHS or NSA surveillance, but for the sake of argument let’s suppose that report about right wing extremism (which you slammed) saves children from a right wing McVeigh type who’s plotting to blow up another federal building. Put another way, it sounds like you’re against “keeping us safe” by watching out for white supremacists, but you’re in favor “keeping us safe” by torturing people. Am I right? And you’re worried about being lumped in with extremists?

What an embarrassment. We can keep our children safe with our national dignity and values intact. If you don’t think that’s possible, Joe, then don’t bitch and gripe in the event our intelligence apparatus tosses aside civil liberties and privacy.

Didn’t Sissy Joe Scarborough just say, quote:” ‘clean’ good people…..”

  • Terri

Hang on to this one, folks: Sissy Joe Scarborough sys, “If we get hit again, it wouldn’t be Obama’s fault”….This one is a keeper for so many reasons. File it.

It’s like the entire GOP is (hopefully) self-destructing. Everything about them these days seems to be contadictory to everything they’ve espoused in recent years.I await the day when we all wake up to them singing “Daisy, Daisy”, slower and s l o w e r, and s l o w e r………Then…*pop*

That douchebag also said that the reason Sept. 11 happened was because there was no intel, due to the CIA feeling all hurt and stuff after Viet Nam?? or something. Regretting to mention the NIA that Bush recieved in August, that was propmtly ignored, thus, Sept 11. Shit, I love the smell of revisionist history in the Morning.

I loathe Joe Scarborough. I couldn’t even watch the whole thing.I guarantee you he will be either be running for some office or moving to Faux News within the next few years. There is no other explanation for his rhetoric. No person in control of their faculties talks the way he does. Only people from Faux News and Republican officeholders talk this way.

the mocking, condescending, open armed, obama is a sacrificial lamb sarcastic bit is identical to a southern baptist preacher to their pulpit. is he southern baptist or does he just know his audience?

If he took a look at the comments from the 912ers (Becks 912 project), he might think differently. Many of the comments are innocuous and silly, others are hostile and threatening with a healthy dose of racism. You might confuse it with a white supremacist web site. The again you might not.BTW – Many of the more hostile comments are coming from people who call themselves vets.

He’ll never go back to public office. He makes too much money bullshitting on TV. As far as Faux News goes, I don’t know what kind of ratings Morning Joke™ gets, but I’d love to see them pull the plug on that show and get rid of that moron so he can atart working where he belongs – sitting on the couch next to Steve Douchey.

They’d cheerfully take him in, Carl. They’d have whole segments whining about how MSNBC is soooo in the tank for Obama and how you can’t criticize him or you’ll lose your job! BooHoo!!Hey Doucheborough- you happily supported giving the bully all the power he needed to bully everyone at will, believing the whole time that as an Awesome Patriot, you yourself would never be subject to such bullying. Now the laws that once protected everyone from the tyranny of a few, the laws you supported the subjugation of in the interest of protecting us from “the suiciders”, are no longer there.Stop your bitching and accept the New and Improved Nation of Men, Not Laws. You wanted it, now fucking shut up and deal with it.

You know what people being tortured tell you? WHATEVER THE FUCK YOU WANT THEM TO.

But hey, it works on “24″ and other fiction so it has to work in the real world.

  • bjritz

My open question to MoJo &trade is this, “Where is the person(s) the intelligence community held and didn’t torture and therefore failed to gain the information about the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks? Show us the intel that proves that had we been torturing these specific individual enemies this would not have occurred?” -bjritzCome on Scarborough bring the facts to the table. But, you can’t because there are none!

  • MZ

He actually said that torturing one guy “saved America”.Think about that.

I love somber joe… you know you’re in for a heaping pile of douchebaggery when he gets all serious like that.He brought out the ‘kids’ again… remember when he did his wawaawaaaaaaa over the huffpo piece? He used it then too. He’s as bad as tgreat point above how bush ignored the pdb about bin laden. joe, who did NOT do their job on that one?As for going back into politics, it always seems like he is positioning to do that. But he’s got that whole bizarre staffer incident that might be brought up again. well, if a republican runs against him in a primary, it surely will.

Sounds like a nice topic for a HuffPo column wink, wink*.

Well, now that the shoe is on the other foot, someone should ask Douchey and Scarborugh how it feels

Putting a caterpillar in a box is not OK. Scarborough only thinks that it’s OK because he has never been in harms way nor will he ever allow himself to be in a situation where he would be expected to protect another U.S. citizen against a foreign enemy. The U.S. has never used torture as a policy to obtain information prior to the Bush administration as Scarborough alluded to. And while it is naive to think that the CIA and other police or intelligence gathering organizations have never used torture in the past and will never use torture in the future, it should not ever be condoned by the President of the U.S. The reason presidents have not condoned torturing our enemies is because they were all intelligent enough (before Bush) to know that if we do it, we are placing our military in even greater danger. Not to mention that it is not an effective means of obtaining useful information.
