This tea-bagging thing is thinly veiled racism

  • jenski42

Another good counter, video…be careful who you hand the mike to, they might make sense -http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AkOwsIIIe5I&feature=

  • jmrunning3

I am just speechless. When this idiocy was gearing up in Tulsa yesterday, they were telling the TeeVee people how “non-partisan” their tea-parties were supposed to be. Bullshit.

  • gypsy

    kekeke. funny stuff!

  • http://www.politicalpartypooper.wordpress.com politicalpartypooper

danann,”This tea-bagging thing is thinly veiled racism “So, everyone who showed up at one of these is a racist?

  • Keith52

Is this guy proud or making satirical commentary? I hope the later. Otherwise we can forget about the “racism is not a problem in America” rhetoric.

  • http://www.thenewwearsoff.com/ Kyle

ppp: While I’m sure not everyone attending is a racist, I would also be willing to bet that a high percentage of those people wouldn’t be protesting if the very white John McCain had won.

FFS, I heard and saw the phrase “state’s rights” so many times, it was starting to look like a Klan rally.

  • idreamofskiba

Does that guy’s shirt say “listen to Bob Marley”?Maybe he was making a point about all the stupid white people there. If not, what an ass.

  • idreamofskiba

That’s probably why Bob titled it “COUNTERPROTEST OF THE DAY.”Ignore my last comment…I’m not awake yet.

  • JD

Obviously an idiot. But representative of everybody, in all locations, in all states…I don’t think so.

  • Mr. Lancers

The sign’s got a point ya know. These rallies were about as white as vanilla frosting and ultimate frisbee.

  • idreamofskiba

Was I wrong the second time or is everyone else just not getting it?I’m so confused!

  • gypsy

i know this is a crappy thing to say, but (hehe) look how porky all the protesters are! white chunky dumb americans. they are who the rest of the world judge us by! it’s embarrassing!

  • jenski42

idream:I think you got it the second time. It’s a counterprotest sign pretty much stating that the people at his protest are all of one race.

  • ceu

last night a number of people spent time looking for a pic of a minority holding a protest sign, to no avail.Obviously, the liberal media was suppressing the true figures on minority turnout to make it look like it was just white folks & their kids…

  • ceu

Jenski & Lancers are right – the guy’s pointing out that there appeared to be very, very few minorities participating yesterday

  • http://www.politicalpartypooper.wordpress.com politicalpartypooper

gypsy,”i know this is a crappy thing to say, but (hehe) look how porky all the protesters are! white chunky dumb americans. they are who the rest of the world judge us by! it’s embarrassing!”You’re right, gypsy, that was a crappy thing to say.I was at a rally in Madison. You’d be surprised to learn that there was a decent mix of Republicans, Democrats, Libertarians, and Independents there. Also present were laid off factory workers, doctors, teachers, attorneys, small business owners, etc. But, when people are so busy trying to put everything into a box, it’s much more convenient to call everyone fat, dumb, and Republican.Keith Olbermann called them “simpletons”. Also right-wing conservatives. Other Democrats have done the same.I have a question: What part of Elections 101 teaches you guys that insulting voters is a good idea? You are making the same mistakes the Republicans made.

  • http://www.thenewwearsoff.com/ Kyle

ppp, I may be mistaken, but didn’t you repeatedly say you wouldn’t be attending any of these “parties”? That you would be kicking back with a beer?I absolutely could be wrong, I just know someone who was trying to insist these weren’t anti-Obama rallies was also simultaneously swearing they wouldn’t attend one since the “genuine” movement had been taken over by conservative wingnuts.

  • Silly Ratfaced Git

“So, everyone who showed up at one of these is a racist?”No. Just 99% of them.PPP -Sometimes I have no idea what planet you live on. The people I saw at these rallies were people that voted for McCain/Palin. We are not alienating *our* voters. These people would vote R if Adolf Hitler was the top of the ticket. The parties I saw looked exactly like Klan rallies to me.If independents were present, particularly ones that voted for Obama, what in the hell were they doing there? Selling Stars and Bars?

  • gypsy

ppp, if i see dumb overweight white people i’m going to say i see dumb overweight white people! am i supposed to woo the “voters” with sweet words and kisses to get their vote? that’s kinda what you are implying with your election 101 comment! and that coming from someone who screams about lobbying every chance he gets.also, i’m trying to put people in a box. the box is open and i’m just looking in!

  • http://www.politicalpartypooper.wordpress.com politicalpartypooper

Kyle,I said I would be beerbagging it with a couple friends in the state Capital. No teabags.

  • http://www.politicalpartypooper.wordpress.com politicalpartypooper

Sillygit,”The parties I saw looked exactly like Klan rallies to me.”Complete with the white sheets and hoods?”If independents were present, particularly ones that voted for Obama, what in the hell were they doing there?”Not just independents, but Libertarians and Democrats, too. I imagine they were doing the same thing I was; protesting the sad state of affairs that our Two Party government has become. There were signs protesting lobbyist influence in Washington, calling for campaign finance reform, calling for no more political parties, along with the goofy Republican signs. But you go ahead and keep thinking this was ALL a Republican ploy.

  • http://www.thenewwearsoff.com/ Kyle

No, ppp, the crowd was obviously not filled with anti-Obama vitriol (about 8 minutes in, not-a-Republican-guest-speaker Laura Ingraham does her usual Obama-teleprompter/liberal-media shtick and gets a very warm reception). These were anti-Obama rallies, with some oh-yeah-fuck-Bush-too-since-he’s-not-prez-anymore thrown in for the sake of feigning non-partisanship.

  • http://imaginistaphoto.blogspot.com/ Imaginista

PPP’s vote isn’t important to me. There, I said it.

  • http://www.politicalpartypooper.wordpress.com politicalpartypooper

    Imaginista,Good for you.

  • http://www.politicalpartypooper.wordpress.com politicalpartypooper

Kyle,”These were anti-Obama rallies, with some oh-yeah-fuck-Bush-too-since-he’s-not-prez-anymore thrown in for the sake of feigning non-partisanship.”You just keep believing that, while independents boot the Democrats out of Congress and the Senate, just like we did the Repubs.

  • Kameron

I’m sorry everyone, I just can’t be part of the herd all the time, and in this case, I think it would be a mistake to not offer my opinion. This is what I see.I see an idiot with a sign.I see other people with signs. The other people with signs have signs that appear to have been prepared in advance. The idiot has a cardboard sign. The other people are on foot participating in the rally. The idiot is on a bike.So looking at this what I see is an idiot who rode in on a bike with a cardboard sign, who wanted for whatever reason to be noticed. Based on that, I can’t assume he’s really part of the group, as there are certainly other possibilities and reason that would account for showing pictures of morons with signs at tea parties. If this is what constitutes the basis of our perception and understanding of what is really going on here, we run the very real danger of having a totally inappropriate, and therefore ineffective response. That to me seems foolish.

  • http://www.thenewwearsoff.com/ Kyle

ppp, when you hold a bunch of rallies hosted by Laura Ingraham, Sean Hannity and Neil Cavuto, the idea of bipartisanship is far gone.I understand that you attended some magical bi-partisan tea party, where there were lots of liberals AND conservatives in attendance–but if you would watch 10 seconds of any of these other rallies, you would see where I’m coming from.Answer this: where was the anti-Republican sentiment at these events… veiled behind Obama insults? And where are all these “liberals” who attended? Why are they unaccounted for? Stop propagandizing for these asshats.

  • http://sarahpalinaspresident.com GlenBecksWattles

PPP- Not a big fan of public opinion polls are you?The tea bagging “indedpendents” need to find some real candidates first. Tedisco is the first of many disappointments. The GOP is a fucking punchline to a joke that stopped being funny 7 years ago. Let the adults run the country for a while, while the shit-heels devour each other.

  • http://www.thenewwearsoff.com/ Kyle

Kameron: He is a counter-protester, pointing out the lack of racial diversity at these tea parties. The bike is most likely for a speedy entrance and exit, as counter-protesters aren’t usually all that welcome in the midst of the protest.

Now, if I can just figure out what in the hell these people are protesting.

Good God. Two threadjacks in one night. My first two (swear to teapot!) – both here and within twenty minutes of one another (hope y’all dug the Camilo). In any case, please forgive the intrusion. I would have left this in the earlier thread but it’s stale now…of all punishments I can’t accept being overlooked…MESSAGE for QUEEN T:I had something to say and clicked on your link. The first time it wanted me to log in with my own WordPress ID which, despite my having same, was rejected. In fact, the unreasonable fucker ARGUED with me about it.Determined, I clicked on the same link again (or so I thought) . Well whaddyano? A different site…the Mother Site. This one wants me to register.I tried. First off, there’s no fuckin’ “photo” from which to discern the secret code. I attempted to listen to the secret code, but I defy the NSA to discern whatever the fuck that first letter is. And just so you know I’m stone cold serious as a heart attack I will tell you this: What ever letter it IS, it’s one of the ones that ends in an EE. Bee..Cee..Dee..Eee…not Ef, Gee…not Aitch, not Jay or Kay, El, Em, En or Oh…I tried them ALL. One after another. Can’t log in, can’t register. The only question I have left is whether this is some general refusal to communicate, or have I been singled out?Oh yeah…one other thing…Having perused your terms of use, I suspect I would not have been allowed to post what I wanted to register to post in the first place./Moot//wtf?///hah…now you’re curious

  • Ady

Oh, that’s AWESOME. As George Carlin once said, “The motto of our country should really be: You give us a color, and we’ll try to get rid of it!”

  • D. C.

PPP, you must have a very vivid imagination if you can imagine what the democrats were doing at these rallies, because the only dems there were just that, imaginary. This was a vitriolic anti-Obama rally pimped by Fox “News” and dressed up as an anti-tax rally.

  • http://www.politicalpartypooper.wordpress.com politicalpartypooper

D.C.Go to my blog right now, and watch the rest of the Susan Roesgen/CNN/Chicago video, and judge for yourself what type of crowds were there. The liberal media gave Roesgen (Cesca included) a big thumbs up for taking on the nutjobs. Great. At my blog, you can watch the rest of the story, the REAL story, and see Roesgen taken to task for being a partisan hack.

  • D. C.

Pooper, I’m not going to defend Roesgen. She was just as unprofessional at the rally as, well, a Fox News reporter. But she because she got into a shouting match with a teabagger isn’t proof that there were democrats in the rally. I watched video from all three channels at the rally, and they all had one thing in common:Vitriolic, hatred of Obama. The only difference was that on Fox, the hatred also came from the reporters.BTW, your video was taken down. But, it’s nice that you can talk to me in your usual insulting and patronizing way.

  • Victor Corleoni

That guy looks like one of those semi-literate rednecks with buck teeth and inbred genes who burned blacks on trees in the 1950s and harassed Freedom Marchers on their way to Selma in the 60s.
