WASHINGTON — President Barack Obama is allowing Americans to make unlimited transfers of money and visits to relatives in Cuba and easing other restrictions Monday, ushering in a new era of openness toward the island nation ruled by communists for 50 years.

It’s been an extraordinarily long road. I mean, we normalized relations with Vietnam long ago.

In related news, Newt Gingrich was seen using an enormous Orbital Laser Saw — retasked from its usual business of destroying shitty Korean rocketry — to saw Florida off of the mainland, as that peninsula will never again vote Republican and has thus been rendered useless to tiny insane peoples like Newt.

The only thing keeping the embargo in place are the corrupt Republican Cuban-Americans in south Florida. They use the embargo as a racket to bilk their fellow Cuban-Americns by charging a fee to get around the embargo. The embargo is a farce that should have ended thirty years ago.

As an ex-Miamian I can authoritatively say that there will be much sturm und drang, and then all yappy Batistas will be on the next plane to see their relatives. These laws were another generations’ issue 10 years ago when I lived there, now they’re just semi nostalgic antiques.

Why didn’t Newt just use the frickin’ laser to take out Fidel years ago? Then we could’ve normalized relations years ago.I still can’t believe it’s taken us 50 years to admit that our policy of “isolate and ignore” was a complete failure.

I just have one question… Can Newt’s laser beam weapon burn through…Space Metal?!™
