Ed Schultz Gets MSNBC Show

The Ed Show begins on Monday at 6 p.m. Shuster moves to the 3-5 p.m. slot.

It’s not an April Fools’ joke, either. Which is why I waited until after Olbermann’s announcement was good and over.

This is great news. I wonder what time slot Tamron Hall is moving to.

I figured the big announcement was going to be that Ed Schultz was getting a show, but I thought it would be at 10pm. I’m delighted to have Schultz on MSNBC, but I’ve gotten to like Shuster’s show and won’t get to see that anymore. So, have they decided what they’re doing with 10pm, I wonder?

Hi Zen – good to see you over here ;-)

10 PM (22:00) will continue to be a repeat of Countdown. Countdown gets good ratings at 10:00 pm and its costs nothing to rerun.

i don’t dig big red, i think he’s a blowhard, and a DINO. i’m not compelled to turn handsprings because his whiny mug is now on the TV. sorry.

  • SillyRatfacedGit

bibimimi -I think he’s a centrist. I also think he’s fair. He doesn’t ridicule liberals or conservatives. Politically, he’s much like Tweety.Ed is very pro the working man and very pro unions so this makes up for him being centrist.Yes, he’s a bit of a blowhard. I’ve only seen him on MSNBC when he filled in for Shuster so Shuster could fill in for Keith and thought he did rather well. All things considered, I’m glad he’s coming onboard. Maybe I’ll change my mind in a few weeks.

Hi enigma4ever! Nice to see you too. What I love most about Ed Schultz, besides his focus on working people and unions, is that you look at him and you think heartland, salt of the earth and all that. I think he’s a great visual for the swing voters.

i have to admit,if not for the fact that i agree with most of what schultz says,he’d be very annoying.he’s a nice enough guy, just kinda hokey.but more importantly, there are tons of smart, entertaining progressive types who would likely pull better ratings than schultz will.schultz is obviously the safe pick(assuming youre going with someone on the left),and i will watch.i just would have liked to see msnbc(they are the “liberal” network after all) take a bit of a risk.

I’m not familiar with Shultz, but I feel kinda bad for Schuster – he’s been growing on me lately, and he seems to work harder than anybody else at MSNBC. That’s not a dis to anyone else, but I’ve seen him anchor daytime, host 1600 and then sit it for Keith all in one day. And I love his hypocrisy watch.Basically, I’m saying there is no justice when David Gregory gets MTP and Schuster get shuffled back to daytime. :(
